A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words– Obama Walks Away From Crowley and Gates
August 4, 2009
They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

I saw this picture on a couple of other blogs, An Unlikely Prespective, and Totus but I just couldn’t resist posting it myself. Is there anything else that needs to be said as President Obama arrogantly walks away from the accused racist as the accused helps his accuser down the stairs? Effectively putting his stupid comment behind him literally and figuratively.
I didn’t think so.

I saw this picture as well and while it is amusing that O is not helping his “friend” it is very likely that it was contrived. What better way to show the people that peace was made between Officer Crowley and Gates than to have them walk out together. I am sure some moron behind the scenes said, “Hey, I have an even better idea…have Officer Crowly assist Gates!” You can no longer trust anything you see coming out of the White House.

Yea, my first reaction was, “Priceless!”.
Then I read your comment and think that you are probably right. It would be just like those so called journalists and politicians.
Of course, the lefty obamatards won’t see it as the officer exibiting his natural and characteristic kindness but rather “Oh, look what obama did. He is sooo great that he even got that evil racist to be nice. Ain’t he peachy. (blink blink fawn)”
Gotta go now, I just made myself sick

That is an interesting take on it. I hadn’t thought of that angle.

At first I thought, “What a jerk!” Then it turned into, “They staged that in order to make it look good.” If they were really thinking on their toes they would have had Obama flanking the other side and it would have provided a more united front. Someone in the PR department is slipping.

That picture just goes to show who the better man is. I don’t think it was staged, I think NObama is just an asshole. Of course I’ve ALWAYS thought that, so maybe I’m biased.

Interesting ideas, but I agree with Joe. Obama is in front because he is “blinded” by the camera flash. They just have to get a good shot of him. I’m sure it did not even cross his mind to help his friend. Sgt. Crowley is used to helping people, it is his job. Why is it OK to demonize the police but not the president? It was OK before Obama! Even so, I don’t think it has anything to do with who is “nicer”. This picture shows what kind of man each of the three is. I think the professor just needs attention, the Sgt. is a nurturer and a real man without making it obvious, and the president, well, that’s complicated. Charismatic, yes. Wonderful orator (with a teleprompter), yes. But I see a sneaky, subversive— all I can say is, look at his old friends and his czars.

I’m not getting the stage thing? How does this staging make Obama look good? It makes Crowley look compassionate – not Obama? Am I missing something here?

The theory is that by showing Gates and Crowley walking hand in hand that is shows the world that Obama brought the two men together.Interesting, but I am still going with my original theory.
