Harry Reid Calls Healthcare Reform Opponents Evil-Mongers
They say that you can judge a man bu the company that he keeps. Well I would also say that you can judge a man by his words also. Harry Reid is a perfect example of this.
It is interesting to see the people that Harry Reid is willing to call evil; is it the Taliban? No, but he doesn’t have a problem calling people who oppose the president evil. Or even more specifically, the president’s healthcare reform bill.
According to Harry Reid the protesters who oppose the president’s healthcare reform bill and those who are vocalizing their difference of opinions are nothing but “evil-mongers.”
Somewhere along the line opposing the president went from what Hillary Clinton admitted was a right to being downright evil. I can’t even begin to describe how despicable I find this comment.
I think that Harry Reid also realized how stupid this comment was as he quickly admitted that he would never utter that phrase again. But it is too late, he let the cat out of the bag. People like Harry Reid don’t believe that it is possible for any normal person to oppose ANYTHING that this president says or does, therefore if you oppose the president he characterizes you as an evil person.
People like Harry Reid believe that they know better than anyone else what is best for individual people and they become so offended when someone dares to question them that they instantly try to discredit the person rather than to debate the issue. That is exactly what happened in this case, it is much easier for Harry Reid to say that a person is evil and therefore should be ignored rather than to try to explain his own position. Especially a position that is unpopular with the American people as his position is.
There is real opposition to the president’s healthcare reform bill, or more accurately congress’ healthcare reform bill because the president doesn’t even know what is in the bill, and average Americans are rising up to voice their opposition to this bill. Harry Reid thinks this is evil. I think that says more about Harry Reid than it does about the American people.
Harry Reid needs to stand in front of the cameras and apologize for calling his political opponents evil. Policy disagreements are not a reason to demonize your opponents. He should be trying to bring more people on board with his policies instead of pushing them away. Comments like this will drive a bigger people further away from healthcare reform.

Gee, poor Harry. I wonder if this has anything to do with his polling numbers, which is down in the 30’s. Couldn’t happen to a nicer fella. Hey Harry——-YOU’RE F I R E D !!! (soon)

Reid appears to be in serious trouble next year and the more he opens his mouth the worse it seems to get for him. Luckily for us he just can’t shut up.

It’s so pathetic and backwards that George Bush uses phrases like “evil-mongers”. His world-view is so black-and-white, so manichean. He doesn’t have the deft subtlety of mind to see all sides of an issue. He’s not a ‘citizen of the world’. He’s backwards and insular. It’s probably because of his low intelligence and his religion.
Wait, did I say George Bush? I guess I meant Harry Reid 😉
Funny how black-and-white thinking is suddenly ok on the left!

He can’t even think up his own insults? Sure sounds like he simply internalized what Sarah Palin said and used it to suit his own opinion. Too bad you can’t suck those words back into your mouth, huh, Harry?
