Obama may be willing to drop the “public option” on healthcare reform

August 16, 2009

Publicly Democrats have a united message on the protesters that are appearing at the town hall meetings across the country; they claim that the insurance companies are funding the protesters, they claim that the GOP is organizing the protesters, (as if the GOP has been successful at organizing anything in recent years), they claim that the protesters are being bused in and paid for their outbursts, they claim that the protesters are lying evil-mongers, but privately they know the truth.

And the truth is that the American people just do not support the idea of the government running the healthcare industry, it is as simple as that. They can try to spin the protests any way that they see fit but the American people see the way that Medicare and Medicaid are run and they do not want the government extending their role in healthcare.

In public they can lie about the protesters and they can try to minimize them in an effort to win their propaganda war but the truth is that they are losing that war. In private they realize this even as they demonize the protesters. In the end they may not like it but they understand that if they want to stay in power they will have to listen to the protesters, especially when the polls back up the protesters.

A vast majority of Americans (85%) are happy with their healthcare coverage and are leery of any changes to it. A majority of Americans oppose Obama’s healthcare reform bill. The politicians realize this and today for the first time the White House has acknowledged that the president may be willing to drop the “public option” from the healthcare reform bill.

This is an admission by the White House that the protesters are legitimate, this is an admission by the White House that our calls and our emails may be taking their toll on our representatives. This is an admission that the people just do not support the “public option” portion of the healthcare reform bill. The administration hasn’t come out and said it yet, and they probably will never admit it but, the fact of the matter is that these protesters are average Americans and they do represent the views of average Americans and that is why the “public option” is suddenly negotiable in the president’s eyes.

We are beginning to turn the tide on this bill. Politicians all the way up to the president, whether or not they are willing to admit it or not, are going to be forced to listen to us. We have spoken and we are not happy!

This is great news. Combine that with the dropping of the “death panel” provision, and this just shows that it is the people that still have the power in this country. There’s still plenty wrong with that bill though.

Those are two big issues that may be dropped. It is a good start, hopefully dropping the public option will push the liberals away from this bill and that will bog it down even more. We are beginning to be heard!

Whoa! I hope it isn’t just the name “public option” that will be dropped. Now that we all know about single payer and so forth. He will still try to sneak some insidious form of gov’t control in there. But I don’t want to be the wet blanket. It is definitely turning in the right direction.

I didn’t think about that. They can always try to slip the “public option” in under another name. After all wasn’t the name “public option” just another name for nationalized healthcare designed to fool the American people? It didn’t work then and if they try it agains hopefully it will not work once again.

Actually public healthcare works. I immigrated to this country from Canada. As an immigrant one has a wider view I believe. I have watched 15 years of decline in this country. You guys are becoming like Victorian England. Do you want that? Perhaps you are rich? In Victorian England most people, 95% of the population, lived incredibly wretched lives. 4.9% were comfortable, and .1% were extremely wealthy. The 5% had no healthcare, were barely able to feed themselves, and were happy to have a job as a domestic servant. Thats where you guys are going. There were no taxes of course.
Currently the average household income in this country is $50K. No one can afford healthcare on that. It costs 18K to have a baby delivered in this dumbass country. If you have two babies that $36K. Then if you need credit, shell out 30% interest to Citibank on that $36K. So that is over 9K per year of interest. It should cost about 3K maximum to deliver a baby. It costs $350 per night to stay in a very nice hotel. 2 days in the hospital for 18K. Your healthcare costs are completely out of control. Its a SCAM. You have no choices in terms of delivery of insurance. Wake up. Stop being a mouthpiece for the Billionaires. Be an AMERICAN not an ANTI American.
Hopefully China will invade America soon and bring an end to our idiotic Congress. Frankly they do not need to because America will destroy itself within the next 5 years. And you probably think the war in a IRAQ was a good idea. Its you guys who are Anti American and are destroying America. You Bush supporter. You hope to get a job in the military industrial complex, is that it?
Why do YOU want to destroy AMERICA??? I as an immigrant am mad at people like you for DESTROYING AMERICA, my beloved country. Your IQ is probably around 80.
