Chicago mayor Daley blames the terror attack at Fort Hood on America’s love for guns

November 10, 2009

There seems to be plenty of blame to go around when we review the terror attack on Fort Hood. First and foremost, of course, is the radicalized Islamist that committed the attack, followed by political correctness, the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, and quite possible the president himself. The president and all of the aforementioned organizations were privy to information that Hasan was dangerous yet they did not act in time to stop the attack. Time will tell exactly who was responsible for the government’s inability to protect our heroes, or at least tell us who the fall guy will be.

But the mayor of Chicago has his own theory on why the terrorist attack on Fort Hood happened. He is blaming gun loving Americans.

Unfortunately, America loves Guns. We love guns to a point where that uh we see devastation on a daily basis. You don’t blame a group

You read that right, he claims that we cannot blame a group, such as radical Muslims, when it is gun loving Americans that are to blame for this attack.

So what does he propose we do, take guns away from our military? This argument does not make any sense and he is using a terrorist attack to push his anti second amendment agenda. Can someone please tell me how the second amendment can be to blame for a terrorist attack on a military base by a military man?

It was only a matter of time before someone suggested something as asinine as this. We are already seeing the victimization of Hasan in the media and even from the president, who claimed that stress probably led Hasan to commit terrorism. And now we are beginning to see the anti-gun politicians espousing the virtues of gun control as the answer.

This is all an effort to deflect blame away from where it belongs while at the same time advancing a political agenda. Mayor Daley’s assertion is so ludicrous that it is almost laughable. In fact it would be laughable if so many people didn’t take it as seriously as I am sure they will.

I’ve been waiting for this and kind of surprised it’s taken as long as it has.

True, it was only a matter of time . Luckily this is just from a mayor and not from anyone in Homeland Security, but that could be coming as well.

My response was, Oh God! Here we go. Are all liberals deaf, dumb and damaged? There reasoning makes absolutely no sense. How does America’s gun loving cause Hasan to get guns and kill people. That is a slippery slope if I ever saw one!

Daley just saw an opportunity to push his agenda, he can’t really believe that gun control would have stopped Hasan, can he?

Nidal was not America. He was Islam. Big difference.

Well, you have me shaking my head in disbelief, Mr. Pink Eyes. I can not believe the man is so ignorant to have actually made that statement. It makes me wonder how he was able to get elected anywhere in America.

Trying to make this connection was beyond a stretch, I am not surprised that someone tried to do it. Daley has trouble with violence in his own city, perhaps he shoud focus his attention there.

I’ve been waiting for this to come and thought it would have before now. Congradulations Mayor Daley you didn’t disappoint me. My faith in liberal stupidity is renewed.

I knew that someone would try to make this connection. This is an illustration of how far the left is willing to go to attack the second amendment.

No mayor, it wasn’t caused by Americas love for guns, it was caused by Hasan;’s HATE for America.

Nothing so clearly demonstrates the futility, and immorality of gun control as well as an incident like this. The utter failure of absolute gun control is perfectly modeled here in the microcosm of the Ft Hood military post.

All that expensive training, all those background checks, and all those weapons and ammunition were locked up in the armory. Perfect gun control.

There is no conceivable reason why 1 out of 5 or 10 soldiers shouldn’t be authorized to carry at all times in the interest of military base security.

That sums it up perfectly. Why don’t more people understand this.

Mayor Daley is just such a role model to begin with. He spouts off about gun loving Americans, yet people in his city spend a great deal of time protesting how aggressive his police force is. He really has a grip on things, (if Hasan had used explosives, Daley would blame it on the penguins from the cartoon Madagascar!). Clearly, it shows one person promoted to the height of their incompetence.
