Barack Obama is avoiding the Massachusetts senate race

January 14, 2010

Martha Coakley is in real trouble in Massachusetts– a notion that was unthinkable just two weeks ago–so much so that she has been making inquiries to Barack Obama, imploring him to make an appearance on her behalf. As of right now, Barack Obama no intention on campaigning in Massachusetts for Martha Coakley.

Of course, this is subject to change, but this does highlight how much Barack Obama’s star has faded.

He won Massachusetts by 27 points in the election, but recent campaigning embarrassments in Virginia and New Jersey have Barack Obama leary of making an appearance in Massachusetts. He campaigned hard in both Virginia and New Jersey for the Democrat candidates of those states only to see his presence have no impact on the elections in those states.

If he were to come to Massachusetts and campaign for Coakley only to see her lose it would be an embarrassment of enormous proportions, and he seems unwilling to risk what is left of his political capital.

However, his aversion to appearing in Massachusetts tells us all that we need to know about the president’s waning popularity.

I don’t know if you saw the video he did for her (instead of going in person). I laughed through the first couple of seconds. I was like, you have to be kidding me. And then I couldn’t stomach more then a minute and turned it off. How he can lie with a straight face is beyond me. Wow!

You can view the video on Michelle Malkin’s blog at the below link. The video is at the bottom of her post.

I didn’t know he made a video for her, I will check out the link. I don’t think I will get much further than you did though.

Yeah, it’s striking about how Obama barely mentions Coakley though… only talks about himself. Either his typical narcissistic behavior, or he’s trying to stay away from the impending disaster.

Ha, good luck with that… a Brown win would single-handedly bring his radical agenda to a screeching halt, IMHO-

      Go Scott Go!!!

Great post Mr P/E- I just linked it at my place, noting that you’re the first one I ever heard saying Brown had a real chance here… and that the RNC was dozing, per usual LOL.

Have yourself a great weekend, sir:

Leery or not, here he comes!!! Have we ever had such an egocentric president? Can we trade him in for pres. Taylor? (24). All I know is that my husband is unenrolled and he has rec’d 2 flyers from Scott Brown and zero from Coakley. When does complacency pay off? Hopefully this is the end…
