Shocking Boston Herald poll: Scott Brown up by 4

January 15, 2010

Yet another mobile post, the Massachusetts race is too exciting to stay away.

A poll released today has Scott Brown surging ahead of Martha Coakley by four points. This is remarkable considering he was nine points down when the first poll came out last week.

Brown seems to be using his opposition to the healthcare reform bill to his benefit. In Massachusetts– where the people know the pain of universal healthcare coverage and mandates first hand– the poll shows a majority of voters against nationally mandated healthcare coverage. Yet Martha Coakley continues to run ads using Scott Brown’s own voice saying he will be the 41st vote against the bill. Martha Coakley– much like the Democrats in Washington– is out of touch with the voters on this issue. The more she plays that commercial, the more it plays into Scott Brown’s hands.

This poll is certainly good news; Scott Brown has the momentum and Republicans ans conservatives in Massachusetts are energized and motivated, but now is not the time to get complacent. If the Massachusetts race going national did not wake up the Democrats to the fact that they have a real race on their hands, perhaps the news of this poll will. Now that they can see that Scott Brown is for real, as is the tea party movement, they may be more motivated to vote. Massachusetts voters: do not let Scott Brown lose! America is watching!

The revolution will be televised!

The blogs show overwhelming support for Brown.
Liberals are not going to take this lying down.
Lets not forget ACORN and the SEIU lurking in the background and all the cemeteries that vote Democratic.
Lets not forget what happened to Doug Hoffman who conceded after he was given distorted numbers. (Typical stupid party)
This is how the Dems will delay the seat.
    Recount!
If it’s close in favor of Brown we may not know it for months..
But we will be watching won’t we…

If he wins, he needs to win by a large enough margin so there is no recount. If there is a recount he will lose, it will be stolen from him just like Coleman in Minn.

“Yet Martha Coakley continues to run ads using Scott Brown’s own voice saying he will be the 41st vote against the bill.”

That one statement says it all for me. Wow! The very thing that is giving Brown the edge, and she uses that to hammer him with? Okay…

Just as a slight side note. My daughter lives in Mass and applied for health coverage and was turned down. So much for everyone having to be covered.

I think that speaks to what we will see if Health Care does pass. I am praying that Brown wins by a landslide because I think it will be very hard for the Dems to drag out his confirmation to the Senate. And that would be a good thing.

So a landslide is what I am hoping for.

Coakley has run the worst campaign I can remember, and the way she is trying to use Brown’s position on an issue in which the voters are on his side against him, is just one example.

I hope Scott Brown is able to pull this off, but even if he comes in a close second, it should still be a wakeup call. Considering the New England area is one of the most liberal in the country and all of that. No offense, Mr. Pink Eyes.

I agree, even if he loses a close race Democrats in states that aren’t as in Democrat control as Mass. is have to be worried. If a Democrat can be in trouble in Mass., they could all be in trouble.

BTW, I have been reading your blog since my computer has been in the shop, but it shows up as a mobile site on my Blackberry and I can’t find a comment link.

You know. I’m not sure if states like NH are necessarily ‘liberal.’ I think they are of a very fierce independent streak and Democrats have talked a good game, and they have bought into it. The two years I lived there (recently) I hardly met anyone who thought Obama was the right person or that this administration was doing what was right for our country. And the Tea Party in Manchester showed me that there were many, many people who were upset.

I agree with you accessment of New Hampshire, we like to feel that we are more independent than anything else. We swing back and forth between parties but this is the first time that the Democrats have had this type of majority, even at the state level so they have accomplished quite a bit in pushing a liberal and taxing agenda. The correction will come.

BTW, I was able to check my email last night and I saw your request about your blog. Consider it done when I my computer is back. I should have it back Monday.

Now the problem is with the “deal” that was struck between the WH and unions to raise the cap for the “Cadillac” tax on healthcare policies, many union members who were Brown may start to drip away… especially once the brownshirts (for the union) come out.

The Republicans are the party of NO new ideas. The Republicans want to STOP real change in our country. The Republicans want to keep the status quo. The Republicans have no new ideas, no health care plan to speak of (except a health care plan that will benefit the rich insurance companies) and no new ideas to change our country for the better.

VOTE DEMOCRAT! VOTE FOR MARTHA COAKLEY IN MASSACHUSETTS!
