Barack Obama’s new climate chief accused of suppressing climate data

February 23, 2010

Thomas Karl, the head of the Commerce Department’s new climate change division, has been accused of suppressing global warming data. His name appeared numerous times in the now infamous Climategate emails although he was not implicated in the emails as being a participant in the scandal.

While he has not been implicated directly in this Climategate scandal’s emails, he has been accused of suppressing global warming data:

Roger Pielke Sr., a climatologist affiliated with the University of Colorado who has crossed horns with Karl in the past, says his appointment was a mistake. He accused Karl of suppressing data he submitted for the IPCC’s most recent report on climate change and having a very narrow view of its causes.

The interesting fact about Pielke is, he is also a global warming alarmist, but he believes there is more to the planet’s warming problem than just man-made issues. He quit the IPCC after his report was not used– the IPCC ignored his data.

This is just the kind of person that Barack Obama wants to head a global warming committee. Barack Obama will push forward on cap and trade legislation regardless of all the controversy surrounding the issue, and the fact that a man who has been accused of suppressing global warming data is now the head of a brand new climate panel should be of no surprise to anyone.

It’s hilarious that they really don’t care that they’ve been exposed. They continue on as if nothing happened. Do they really think that we don’t have access to the truth?

They must forget that in today’s day and age we can get news all over the place, not just in the mainstream. Where once this could be easily covered up it can’t be anymore. But they just don’t seem to care, the bravado is astounding!

An Obama official?? Not being true and honest? Less than transparent? Suppressing information??

    Surely not… 😛

I know its hard to believe, but try not to let it ruin your faith in the Obama administration. 🙂

The man is friends with domestic terrorists, communists, and those who spout anti-American hate speech (the only kind of hate speech the Left approves of). Why wouldn’t he hire an unethical scientist whose alarmism feeds his own far-Left agenda?

It is convenient for them to have a person who may have been involved in the coverup as the man who is collecting the data for this new panel. Too convernient.
I will be checking out your blog tonight, thanks for stopping by!

The corruption and lies coming out of Washington is at an all time high so its not surprising that its spilled over into the scientific community. When one stops to think about it, corruption has permeated our entire society. So we should not point the finger at Washington but rather at ourselves because Washington is nothing more than a reflection of us. I hate to said that, but I honestly believe that to be the case.

An interesting point Ron. You know the old saying, you get the government that you deserve…

I think the correct phrase would be “they have no shame”. Even though they have been exposed, they simply do not care because they do not believe they have done anything wrong. If a person is to correct their problems, they first have to admit they actually have a problem. That seems to be beyond their ability.

I think that is the perfect phrase to describe these people. They hoinestly don’t think they did anything wrong because the end justifies the means and they are intent on proving a porblem that does not exist.
