Darrell Issa says the Joe Sestak scandal could be Barack Obama’s Watergate

May 27, 2010

It is good to see that Republicans are not willing to let the Joe Sestak scandal go unchallenged. While I still have my doubts about anything coming from this scandal, I also had my doubts about whether the Republicans would have to will power to see that this scandal receives the attention that it deserves.

My fears about the Republicans were assuaged somewhat yesterday when I learned that all Republicans– including RINO Lindsey Graham– on the  Senate Judiciary Committee sent a letter to Rahm Emanuel asking him to appoint a special investigator to this case. But the fact is that Rahm Emanuel has no intention of appointing a special investigator, and while it still remains highly unlikely that anything will happen, the only chance that we have of this scandal being investigated is for Republicans to keep up the pressure on Rahm Emanuel and the Obama regime until they can no longer ignore these accusations.

Today Darrell Issa kept up the pressure on the Obama regime in an email titled “The Sestak Affair – Obama’s Watergate?” Here is some of what Darrell Issa had to say in his email:

Congressman Sestak has continued to repeat his story whenever asked without varying from the original version. The White House however has arrogantly and wrongly assumed that they can sweep this matter under the rug

Joe Sestak realized that he made a mistake by letting the cat out of the bag. It’s a mistake that might end his bid for U.S. Senate and damage President Barack Obama,” Issa continues. “He doesn’t want to make things worse than they are, so he’s sticking to his story to maintain his own credibility, but will not cooperate with investigators to bring charges against the guilty White House official.”If he’s telling the truth, an investigation must take place and justice must be served. If he’s lying, then he should immediately resign the race for Senate

And that is the crux of the issue, someone is not telling the truth and we need to know who it is. If Joe Sestak is lying he needs to resign from his senate bid, even if that means the deplorable Arlen Specter will be his replacement on the Democrat ballot, but if it is Barack Obama or someone else in his regime that is lying,  the American people deserve to know what kind of people are “representing” us in the White House and the appropriate legal action must be taken.

Be careful what you wish for — how does “President Biden” sound to you?

At least he would be entertaining, you would never know when he would say something “out of the norm.”

I honestly do not know what to think about this story, but my first inclination is that Sestak is blowing and going to build up his campaign. I have no proof either way, mind you, but it’s just the impression I get. If there is actually something to the accusation, then an investigation should be started. Having said that, let me echo what Mike said in his comment. President Biden????
