Lacking the proper funding, DHS released hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens
With all of the spending that the Obama regime has done it is only natural that cuts in funding would have to come from somewhere–the regime just couldn’t continue to print money and borrow from China without making some cuts.
Under an immigration law that was passed in 2004, the Department of Homeland Security was supposed to receive funding to build an additional 40,000 detention spaces to hold illegal aliens. But guess that? The Obama regime–and his all too willing accomplices in the Congress–cut most of this funding (this defunding parallels the Democrat takeover of the Congress, and was exacerbated by Barack Obama’s ascension to the White House) and only a small portion of these detention centers were actually built.
As a result of this decision DHS has been forced to release HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of illegal aliens who were already in the process of being deported back into the “shadows.”
Because it lacked adequate detention space, DHS says it was forced over the last three years to release hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens it had caught and were being processed for deportation
Included in these releases were 481 illegal immigrants from state sponsors of terror.
481 illegal aliens from state sponsors of terror and other “countries of interest” that DHS caught and released in fiscal years 2007-2009 and who are now fugitives whose wherabouts is unknown
Doesn’t that just give you a warm and fuzzy feeling–somewhere, probably still in the United States, are almost five hundred fugitives from terrorists states who were already captured but were released because there was no funding to hold these potential terrorists. They are now fugitives at large and the United States government has no idea where the hell they are!
The proponents of amnesty use the argument that we simply cannot round up all of the illegal aliens in this country and deport them, but the fact is that even without major immigration sweeps we can still deport those illegal who are caught. And yet over the last three years hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens were caught but were released before they could be deported because there was no place to hold them. This is a clear sign that nobody in government takes this issue seriously enough to do anything about it.
There is no excuse for this! It now seems that even if the federal government was willing to do their job and crack down on illegal immigration it would all be for not because the Congress has denied DHS the proper funding to hold many of these criminals.
This news is disheartening to say the least and it leaves us with this question to ponder–what will it take for somebody, anybody, to take this issue seriously?

They lack the proper funding so they can release illegals, expect more to be released until they’ve released all of them. The goal is to realease them, they didn’t want them detained in the first place. Since they are not detaining any these days, the process should come to a quick end.

they didn’t want to release them.. because there wouldn’t be enough of them to cut the yards of the gop

You are very witty indeed! Alas, you are also a bigot for thinking that they only thing these illegals are capable of doing is cutting grass.

After they release them do they have an ACORN representative standing ready to register them to vote.

LOL! I wouldn’t doubt that they do.

I think, though, that this would have happened under a GOP administration as well, although possibly not to this extent. This is an issue where the American people, regardless of their political beliefs, are hopelessly out of touch with their “leaders!”
As with so many other issues, follow the money – as long as there are interests willing (eager!) to employ illegal aliens and those interests maintain a strong lobbying presence in the corridors of power, government will drag its feet on enforcing whatever immigration laws are on the books. Those who ultimately are detained and deported will be the sort of people President Reagan had in mind when he initiated one of our many amnesty programs – the hardworking men and women who fled economic devastation south of the border just for the opportunity to put a roof over their heads and a meal on the table, and an opportunity to raise their children in peace.

Yes, this probably would have happened no matter who is in power, this problem has been going on for years and probably will go on for years.

Ga Yankee is very correct, this will happen under the GOP too… Look at the attempt by GW Bush and many GOP Senators to push amnesty through..
For this BS to STOP it’s going to take a WARRIOR President, one that places America before ANY nation on earth, one that places the issues and interests of American citizens over some PC wussypants ideas about 8they only want jobs* and so forth…

Just as Americans are becoming intimately familiar with the Constitution, we overly familiar with illegal migrants and the crime that comes with them. Perhaps we have never had a modern-day president who searched the Constitution before putting away his veto pen. We have had a modern-day president who dealt ably with illegals. That was one of Dwight Eisenhower’s greatest gifts to the U.S. He loaded them up on planes and ships and delivered them to the most southern reaches of Mexico.
Steve, this report is especially troubling, as we have just had 7,000 border patrol issue a ‘vote of no confidence in their director and assistant director. That vote came with the most egregious charges against them. The border guards said they wanted to separate themselves from these two Liberal bozos who want bingo games for inmates, and worse. But, it appears nothing has happened. We hear no one talking about it, no sign of their dismissal because they are pleasing Obama.
I also believe it is folly to think we cannot build the fence, and rank folly to say the fence does not work. We build the fence the complete length of the border, round-up the worst of the illegals and begin seriously dealing with the problem. The press must begin to tell their Liberal leaders that Carter, Clinton, both Bushes and Obama simply wanted to tilt the voter pool – with the eager help of Congress.
This week I saw an interview with Neal Cavuto and the uncle of a 14-year-old girl shot in the back by an illegal who has been deported several times, and was currently working as a SECURITY guard in an apartment building ‘down the street.’ The girl did not know her killer. The uncle said if we kept illegals out, his niece would still be alive. Cavuto said, but Liberals say she could have been killed by a citizen. Of course, he said this with some sarcasm, but this IS the argument of the Left.
Great report. It is mind-boggling what we do not know. That’s the great value of blogs.

So very well said, and I agree with you 100%. Have you heard of John Shadegg’s bill that would require the author of a bill to state where in the constitution that bill is constitutional? This may be a pipedream but it seems like a great idea!
