Homeland Security to grant backdoor amnesty by dropping thousands of deportation hearings

August 25, 2010

Supporters of comprehensive immigration reform and granting amnesty to illegal aliens use a defense that goes something like this; “we can’t possibly round up all of the illegal aliens and deport them so we have to do something with those that are already here illegally and granting them amnesty would bring them out of the shadows.”

For the sake of this argument I will grant supporters of amnesty the point that we cannot round up all of the illegal aliens and deport them even though I believe immigration sweeps would accomplish capturing many of them. Even if we cannot systematically round them up and deport them, we can deport them one at a time when they are caught.

Currently there are thousands of illegal aliens waiting for deportation hearings in the United States; if these illegal aliens lose their deportation hearings they will naturally be deported. That is how the system works, but the Department of Homeland Security apparently doesn’t like the way the system works because they are reviewing the thousands of deportation hearings and appear ready to drop many of them if the illegal alien in question has not committed an additional crime.

The Department of Homeland Security is systematically reviewing thousands of pending immigration cases and moving to dismiss those filed against suspected illegal immigrants who have no serious criminal records, according to several sources familiar with the efforts

they are following general guidelines that allow for the dismissal of cases for defendants who have been in the country for two or more years and have no felony convictions.

So if an illegal alien enters the country and stays clean for two or more years they will not be deported, what is this if it is not a form af amnesty? Illegal aliens now know that they can come to this country and they will not be punished as long as they do not commit another crime. No matter how you look at it this IS amnesty.

The Department of Homeland Security is trying to justify this new policy by stating that what they are really doing is prioritizing the cases which pose the greatest threat to national security and public safety. There is nothing wrong with prioritizing such cases but that does not mean that the other cases must be dropped.

We have heard rumors in the past that Barack Obama was going to grant amnesty to illegal aliens using an executive order, and we have heard rumors that the Janet Napolitano was going to use deferred action in order to grant groups of people amnesty, but now it looks as if she has hit on a way to grant backdoor amnesty to illegal aliens by dropping the charges against them if they have not committed additional crimes.

The Obama regime is hellbent on cramming amnesty for illegal aliens down our throats and he knows that he probably will not have the votes to do it legally and constitutionally so he is looking at more esoteric ways to accomplish his goal. And it looks as if this attempt is probably going to be successful, how are we supposed to stop Homeland Security from deciding that certain illegal aliens are not going to be subject to deportation because their hearings will be dropped?

We all know by now that Barack Obama doesn’t give a damn what the American people want, but if he approves of this decision by Homeland Security we will also know that he doesn’t have the best interests of the American citizens at heart either.

In an economy that has only worsened with the implementation of Barack Obama’s policies how can he justify letting illegal aliens stay here to take jobs away from desperate Americans who would do just about anything to feed their families but are losing out to people who broke the law to get here?

This is just another example of how out of touch the Obama regime and its cronies are with the plight on the American people.

I just heard a little about this yesterday. You’re right in calling it back door amnesty for that’s exactly what it is. They will find some way of getting what they want despite the will of the people. They could care less what the man in the street wants. The will of the people is being thwarted but they will be heard this fall at the polling places.

They honestly do not care what we want because they think they are smarter than us and know what is best for us. They are going to push all of this down our throats if we do not stop them in November!

It does seem like the President means to get this done, no matter what the political cost. He has to know the majority of the American people are against something like this, but he doesn’t seem to care about that. That attitude troubles me greatly.

He really doesn’t care what we want. He was supposed to be the man that would unite us but his “I know what is best for you” attitude has made him the most divisive president in history.

funny how the other half of us were saying the same thing for the last 8 years. Shoe is on the other foot, and we are walking ! “the most divisive president in history.” – hardly. Sorry, but you guys had your chance, W flushed us down the drain.

It took W six years to reach the low poll number that Obama has reached in just 1 1/2 years, the Democrats are walking alright–right into the unemployment line after November.

Backdoor amnesty it is. However, there is no need to round people up. We can simply end all taxpayer benefits to illegals, and HEAVILY punish companies that hire them, or jail those that make fake ID’s and other documentation for them. It has been shown in the past that illegals leave when the benefits of their crimes disappear. Simply do not interfere with their return to another nation.

Other aspects include sealing the border, and actually streamlining the process to enter and stay legally. That way, we can keep the bad folks out, and (hopefully) make it easier to let the good folks in.

You are correct, if we were to simply enforce the positions you have taken many illegals will go home on their own.
