Ovide Lamontagne is surging in the polls!

September 3, 2010

Nobody who reads this blog on a regular basis needs to be told that I am a huge fan of Ovide Lamontagne in the New Hampshire Republican primary senate race. I feel that he is the best and most conservative person in the race and he would make an exceptional senator.

While I am a huge fan of Ovide Lamontagne I am also a realist and as such I have not felt that he had a great chance of beating the two frontrunners–Kelly Ayotte and Bill Binnie–in this race. Kelly Ayotte is the candidate that comes closest to being the “establishment” candidate–she is well funded and won the endorsement of Sarah Palin–while Bill Binnie is a millionaire who is basically trying to buy his way to the senate seat. Meanwhile Ovide Lamontagne has little money and is relying on a grassroots campaign in an attempt to connect with the people of New Hampshire.

But with this news I have begun to raise my expectations–could there really be a chance for Ovide Lamontagne to pull off the upset? The latest poll by Magellan Data and Mapping Strategies of Colorado of likely voters has Ovide Lamotagne surging ahead of the aforementioned Bill Binnie into second place in the poll. Ovide Lamontagne is surging!

It showed Ayotte, a former attorney general, remaining the front-runner with 34 percent, Lamontagne with 21 percent, Binnie with 17 percent, Bender with 13 percent and other candidates at 4 percent with 11 percent undecided.

While he still trails Kelly Ayotte by double digits this turn around is remarkable. The same outfit last released a poll in May and Ovide Lamontoagne at that point was a very distant third with only nine percent of the vote.

Kelly Ayotte is and always has been the frontrunner in this race and it will be interesting to see if Ovide Lamontagne can manage to chip away at her lead. According to the poll Ovide has managed to strip Bill Binnie of his supporters and with the senate debate coming up shortly before the primary Ovide Lamontagne will have the opportunity to try to win over some of Kelly Ayotte’s supporters.

I believe that voters are tiring of the negative ads that both Bill Binnie and Kelly Ayotte are running against each other and are now beginning to look at other options–this opens the door for Ovide Lamontagne and hopefully he will be able to walk through it.

If you are an undecided voter–or if you are a voter who intends to vote for either Kelly Ayotte or Bill Binnie, but are becoming disillusioned by the negative campaigning–I urge you to take a second and third look at Ovide Lamontagne and his 15 point pledge–Ovide’s Oath–to the voters of New Hampshire.

New Hampshire voters: if we are truly the independent voters and thinkers that we like to think we are, we will not settle for the “establishment” candidate, and we will not fall prey to a man who is trying to buy his senate seat, we will turn to the man running the grassroots campaign from the bottom up. We will look to the man that has been called the “only true conservative in the race” by Laura Ingraham–Ovide Lamontagne.

This is encouraging news but there is still quite a bit of work to do with little time to do it. The primary is just over one week away and if Ovide Lamontagne can keep up the momentum New Hampshire voters may pull off the upset yet!

I heard that Laura has been mentioning him quite a bit on her show. I think the Union Leader endorsement has probably helped him quite a bit also.

This shows that a true independent-minded, conservative candidate trumps money and influence. I fully expect Ovide to keep gaining supporters. Everyone needs to know that even a small contribution of time and/or money will help Ovide greatly to get out his message.

I am beginning to think that you are right, Ovide might just be able to pull this off. Let’s hope he shines during the debate on the nineth!

Kelly Ayotte is the Worst Possible Candidate and she hates open government.

Ovide actually went to Franconia while Kelly avoided it like the Plague because she covered up a huge Bad Cop shooting.

Watch her threaten to arrest someone who asks about the Planned Parenthood and Liko Kenney/Bruce McKay/Greg Floyd Franconia shooting tragedy, they threaten to call the same Manchester PD who beat people and get sued, it is ALL documented here:

Off with her head (proverbially) — the second post has distinct factual backdrop on her, and it’s pathetic.
