Democrat Eleanor Holmes Norton leaves a voicemail asking for a bribe
Democrat Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton recently made a phone call to a lobbyist looking for a campaign donation. During this phone call she “reminds” the lobbyist about how powerful she is–she has seniority and a chairmanship of a committee with access to stimulus money that this lobbyist is obviously interested in–while mentioning the fact that she has never received a campaign donation from this person.
She is smart enough to never mention that she would require a “donation” in return for releasing money to this lobbyist, but it certainly seems as if this is what she is implying. She seems to be asking for money in return for granting stimulus money to this lobbyist.
This is exactly the type of politics that Nancy Pelosi and the Obama regime promised to end once they gained power, but still nothing has changed. The swamp is still as full as ever; as of yet the swamp has not been drained as Nancy Pelosi promised.
Below is the audio of Eleanor Holmes Norton’s voicemail to the lobbyist; you be the judge, was this an attempt at bribery, extortion, or an ultimatum, or was this simply an innocent attempt at fundraising.
It sounds like a shakedown to me.

No doubt. Reminds me of how Tom DeLay, when he was the majority Whip, let it be known that the GOP majority in the House wouldn’t be at all enthusiastic about doing business with lobbying firms that employed Democratic staffers.
The message there was also clear to those who understand the garbled language of the political class – hire more Republicans, boys, and if you’ve got a hard time finding them (since you can’t exactly advertise for them), some to my office – I’m sure I’ve got a few resumes floating around . . .
Yes it’s sickening, but no party is clean, and SCOTUS seems hellbent on getting corporate involvement in every nook and cranny of government.
As to the immediate case, Mrs. Norton should retire. I do believe I read about her in my High School history book, and that was quite a while ago.
Take good care and may God bless us all!

Yes she should step down, this is exactly what we are sick and tired of. Both sides are guilty and if Nancy Pelosi is unwilling to drain the swamp, perhaps we will do it for her in November. This has gone on far too long!

Good grief, I can’t believe the woman had the nerve or gall to actually call up and tell someone that she noticed they had failed to make a donation to her. Regardless of if she is asking for a bribe or not, it’s still sickening to me that a member of Congress, from either political party, would stoop to such a level.
I have no doubt that I am as naive as they come when it comes to my beliefs of how Congress should work, but trust me, this woman’s actions are far away from where they should be.

And she even mentions how she should have called him before, it makes you wonder if she has given him money in the past and only now just realized that she hadn’t received anything from him yet.
