America’s Watchtower Endorses Nancy Pelosi as House minority leader
When the Democrats got “shellacked” in last week’s election it was widely speculated that Nancy Pelosi would retire from the House rather than serve in the minority party. This is something that she has now denied: claiming that not only will she not resign, she will run for the position of minority leader once the new Congress is in session.
If this news is true and Nancy Pelosi does decide to run for the position of minority leader I would like to be the first to endorse her for this position. I cannot think of another candidate in the House who is the face of the Obama regime and better exemplifies the failing of that regime. Nancy Pelosi presided over the House when Democrats lost the most seats in 60 years and I have faith in the fact that if she resides over the House of the next two years the annihilation will be complete when voters next head to the polls in 2012.
When the people rose up in droves against the healthcare bill what did Nancy Pelosi do? The leader of the branch of government that is supposed to most directly represent the voice of the people did not listen to the voice of the people. Quite the contrary, instead she walked through a crowd of the very people she was supposed to represent with an oversized gavel as a way to taunt those that came out to protest the bill. Americans have not and will not ever forget that image.
Instead of retiring–or at least returning to the Congress without running for the leadership position–and easing the transition period of Democrats to the position of minority status, Nancy Pelosi has decided that she still wants to lead the party that she almost destroyed. A contentious battle is sure to be fought within the Democrat party–who will remain loyal to Nancy Pelosi and who will vote against her? This will be an interesting vote to say the least.
Will the returning Democrats remain true to their leader or will they look towards someone else? New Democrats are almost certain to vote for another candidate, unless Nancy Pelosi is able to exert enough pressure on them to get them into her camp. If this happens it will be a less than auspicious start for the freshmen Democrats. One thing is certain; it is going to be fun to watch the civil war break out within the Democrat party to see who comes out on top and how much damage is done in the process. How will Nancy Pelosi react if she loses the position to someone else?
This all could be, and should be, avoided. Nancy Pelosi should step aside as the House leader and let someone else take over, but her ego will not let her. She has failed to represent the people and the people have turned against her; she should head back to relative obscurity, representing only those that still wish for her representation–her district–and leave the national spotlight. If she were to win the House minority leader position it would serve as a reminder over the next two years of what the Democrat party did to us when they passed the healthcare reform bill, it will prove to us that the Democrats still haven’t learned their lesson, and it will show us they still are not listening. She will forever be tied to Barack Obama and rightfully so. While that once would have been a ticket to success is no longer is; Democrats who did manage to get re-elected did so by running against Barack Obama in many cases.
Democrats will never be able to repair their damaged image as long as the person who best represents that image is the one person the people most identify with Barack Obama–Nancy Pelosi. So today I would like to endorse Nancy Pelosi for House minority leader.

A brilliant idea.. If she can cost the Dems as many seats as a *minority* leaders as she did when Speaker of The House, well, win-win… Soon we have no more Dems and no more Pelosi…

The only downside is the fact that we will have to look at her for the next two years.

I think for me, personally, any Democrat (or Republican- if they have a say but I don’t think they do) that votes her in, gets my vote out in 2012. I think if they are so far removed from the American people that the still do not get what we are asking after the beating they just took, and choose to vote her in again, they deserve to land on their butt and the ”unemployment line for political office.”
I knew … I knew … she would not go quietly in the night. At least she is predictable! 🙂

I was hoping that she would go away, but if she is not perhaps this can be used to our benefit in 2012.

I agree that the arrogant, intolerant and corrupt Pelosi should remain, simply as a painful reminder of why the Obama regime became so unbearable.

Exactly! As long as she is there the American people will rememer why we voted against Obama this time around.

Since Democrats don’t seem to believe in performance-based advancement she might win… but don’t be surprised if she doesn’t tout your endorsement!

So true, it doesn’t matter what you actually accomplish if you are a Dem, it only matters what you wanted to accomplish.
Somehow I feel that she won’t post my endorsement on her website. 🙂

I agree. If she continues to remain the face of Democratic Party they’re done. I personally think unless they drive the progressives from the party they’re done no matter who is the face of the party. People are beginning to really equate Democrat with progressive and progressive with socialism/communism.

I agree, I think the people are finally waking up to what the rogressive movement is really all about, and they do not agree with it. As long as Pelosi remains a visible figure she will continue to be associated with the ideas that have been rejected in this last election.

I agree. We have GOT to keep this woman in place as the Face of the Democratic Party in Congress. We get to keep Reid in the Senate, and although he’ll probably remain as Majority Leader (unless they wise up and elect someone else!) having him there obstructing progress will do wonders for us. Gridlock is, after all, one of our goals. 😀 When the House and Senate are gridlocked, they aren’t spending more money.
I can’t think of anything that would give us more votes for more government recovery than having her and Obama trying to obstruct repeal of Obamacare. 😉

I think it would do more good to out cause if she were to remain as the leader of the House Democrats, but part of me still wants to see her go away forever.

As long as Republicans can work around her that’s fine. Otherwise she gets at least two more years to inflict damage on this country. Luckily she can’t wrangle up enough votes to pass anything, but she may be able to throw some roadblocks in front of some sensible legislation. It’s a catch-22.

That is the one downside to my plan. We have to make sure that she isn’t able to get anything accomplished.
