House rejects Obama’s tax cut compromise as one Democrat says “fuck the president”

December 9, 2010

There is a growing rift within the Democrat party as the far left’s aversion to compromise led the House to reject Barack Obama’s deal with the Republicans to extend the Bush tax cuts for two years.

This is what Nancy Pelosi had to say in rejecting the president’s attempt at coming to a bipartisan agreement to extend both the tax cuts and unemployment benefits:

We will continue discussions with the President and our Democratic and Republican colleagues in the days ahead to improve the proposal before it comes to the House floor for a vote

The House rejected this deal because it includes extending the Bush tax cuts on Americans who make over $250,000. The Democrats apparently do not understand what the word compromise means because they still want the whole ball of wax and appear unwilling to settle for anything less.

Barack Obama negotiated in good faith with the Republicans and he came up with a deal that neither side was totally happy with–but that is what happens when you compromise. The Democrats in the House, the liberal media, and the far left voters have lambasted the president because he had to give up something in order to reach a compromise so today the House rejected the deal he struck with Republicans.

It is becoming more and more obvious that the Democrats are not willing to compromise with the Republicans and will not agree to extend the Bush tax cuts on the rich no matter what the cost ends up being–even if that means struggling, unemployed middle class Americans will lose their unemployment benefits.

It appears as if there is no longer any room for compromise and little chance to get a deal done regarding the Bush tax cuts because the Democrats will not be happy until the Republicans cave in and give them everything they want in return for extending the tax cuts on middle class Americans. Between the tax cuts and the unemployment benefits the Democrats are holding the middle class hostage. We are nothing but pawns in their game to soak the rich and I for one find their unwillingness to compromise in the face of the electoral defeats they suffered in November when the American people rose up and rejected their radical agenda appalling.

This deal is tearing the Democrats apart as some look to support the president while others are so upset at Barack Obama that one unidentified Democrat lawmaker went so far as to say “fuck the president.”  The tensions are so high in the Democrat party right now that they are losing all control and this is all because Barack Obama had the audacity to try to work with Republicans.

Remember the outcry when Joe Wilson yelled “you lie” during a Barack Obama speech? This goes far beyond what Joe Wilson said and this highlights exactly how unnerved the Democrats have become with their recent defeat. They are in meltdown mode and it will be interesting to see if the media and the other Democrats are as upset with this lawmaker as they were with Joe Wilson. It didn’t take long for Joe Wilson’s identity to be found out, I wonder if we will ever learn which Democrat disrespected the president in such a blatant and unbecoming manner.

Either way, the scene has been set for an epic battle over the Bush tax cuts and unemployment benefits and it will be interesting to see who caves in on this. Right now it is the Democrats who will be blamed if the middle class sees a tax increase and as tensions build even further, and as the deadline inches closer, the Republicans are united stronger than ever while the Democrats are staggering all over the place unwilling to compromise.

The majority of Americans favor letting the tax cuts for the upper 3% expire. Republicans need to follow the will of the people, especially with deficits being what they are.

Maybe more of those that support letting the tax cuts expire should have voted because I can’t think of one Republican who won who ran on letting them expire.

One thing is for sure. This gives us a pretty good indication of just how far left the Democratic Party has swung. It’s amazing at how strongly they are against extending the Bush tax cuts for those who make over $250k.

I honestly can’t believe how quickly they have turned on Barack Obama on this. They have moved so far left that Obama is too moderate for them, that is saying something!

Its the Republicans who are being greedy…their looking out for their wealthy friends and not the middle class. Its a game to them. I get that Pres. Obama see’s no other way but to make a deal w/ppl who really do not care about unemployment benefits being extended for ppl who wouldn’t survive w/o it is ridiculous…its like making a deal with the devil.

But the Republicans compromised and gave the Democrats something they wanted and the Democrats still rejected it. It isn’t that the Republicans don’t want to extend unemployment benefits they merely want it funded, but they gave in on this for the good of the middle class only to see Democrats throw it away. If our taxes go up now it is because the Democrats put ideology above the good of the middle class.

The Dems and their outrage at Obama, comedy at it’s finest… If one of us had said F*CU the POTUS, we’d be lambasted for every kind of racist imaginable… But it’s OK if you’re a Dems I suppose…

The Dems are now the definition of hypocrisy…

This is becoming very entertaining isn’t it?! I can’t even imagine what would happen if it was Rand Paul who made that statement!

I see some comments suggesting that the government needs that extra tax revenue. Not so. They are wasting such an incredibly huge amount of money now that if they just revisit the budget they would have all the money they need. Democrats are just bent on extracting as much money as possible from the people.

Exactly! Get the budget under control first, cut wasteful spending, and then look at the tax rate. If they did this I think they would find we all pay to many taxes.

Cutting spending at this time will result in more unemployment. We need to bring jobs back the the U.S.

Well let’s consider this. It was the Democrats who gave the farm away with NAFTA. This damaged the middle class by virtue of shipping jobs to Mexico for cheap labor. Letting the tax cuts on the upper class expire is the LAST thing we need to do. Mr. & Mrs. Smith on Main St,USA do not create new jobs. Bill Gates,Mark Speese and Rick Wagoner. These people create jobs. If they continue getting tax breaks, they will have more money to create jobs. More people working gives the government a larger base for tax revenue. I cannot see why the Democrats fail to see this point. It’s common sense.
