Video: University teaches class on violent union tactics

April 26, 2011

We all know that the school system has become little more than indoctrination centers, but a video that I found at Bunkerville showing us a college which is teaching a class on violent union tactics, and how and when to use them, while espousing communist/Marxist ideals really drive the point home.

There is really nothing else that I need to say, check out the video:

Disturbing. I have been reading about a few unions that say they will get their way one way or another. It troubles me how violent the Left is.

It disturbs me that someone could see this and then jump to the conclusion that the left as a whole is generally violent.

It wasn’t long ago at all that left-led demonstrations in this country were brutalized by elements of the right wing.

Take good care and may God bless us all.

They missed one organization that used violence to further it’s cause. The Nazi’s.

One guy did mention the bourgeoisie, and that is something that Hitler wrote about in Mein Kampf.

Sounds like they’re preaching to the choir here. I’m concerned about the the impressionable minds they haven’t yet reached.

You are right, the people in this class are already on board–perhaps this is why they took the class in the first place.

Its a great thing that they’re operating in the open now. It’s been relatively easy to get footage of them. Just think, May Day is less than a week away. I’ll have a few posts about violence after that.

Impressionable minds? For goodness’ sake, these are college students! We both have no problem dressing them up in camo and sending them out to fight, but we don’t trust their judgment to make decisions about what they learn in school?

I’ve got no doubt that the professor of this course is strongly pro-union, but remember what college is all about – it’s about learning. Would anyone here prefer that the teaching of the role of unions in American history be banned? Or that only solidly anti-union professors be permitted to teach it?

I think that people who teach at the college level should be expert in their field, and that often means, especially when it comes to history, that they believe in what they’re teaching.

Of course, it won’t always be possible – I doubt there are too many true believers teaching about the attempt of the Nazis to conquer the world, but I hope that nobody thinks that because the topic is so abhorrent it therefore shouldn’t be taught.

And again, back to the course on unions, doesn’t it make sense to bring in union leaders to help teach courses about unions?

After all, business leaders certainly are asked to lecture students in business schools, and I’m sure that one of the things they discuss is why unions are so bad.

Take good care and may God bless us all!

I think that when rjjrdq mentioned impressionable minds he was talking about students before they reached the college level–I could be wrong.
As for bringing in union leaders to teach about unions; that is one thing, but to hear them condoning violence and declaring that sometimes it is okay, that is another thing.

Sorry, Steve, I disagree — college is a place where people should be able to advocate whatever they care to, and let the students make up their own minds.

We cannot guarantee liberty to our children or their children if we start declaring certain points of view off limits, especially in our nation’s colleges and universities.

How can we expect them to think for themselves if we place limits on what they’re allowed to hear?

I guess that is why universities in Boston feel as if it is okay to invite William Ayers to speak without ever apologizing for his actions, and yet when Will Smith’s wife gives a speach in Boston about how a woman doesn’t have to give up her carreer to have a husband she must apologize the next week because her statements were “hetro-central.” Their minds have already been made up after years in the public school system.
I understand what you are saying but we see time and time again people brought into the campuses with shady backgrounds who are hailed as heroes and yet when someone like Condi is scheduled to appear there are massive protests on the campuses. They are not listening and making up their minds, their minds have already been made up.

I think that’s a price we pay for academic freedom. and you’re right, there’s a core in the student body whose powers of critical thought haven’t been developed the way I’ve been saying they are.

Unfortunately, it was like that a while back when I was at UConn (GO HUSKIES!!), and I don’t reasonably have any expectation that it’s any different, and that’s a crying shame.

But there are thousands of colleges and universities in the US – most of them are serious. You wouldn’t find the community at Grinell College in Iowa protesting against Ms. Rice, who has simply boatloads to contribute to any academic community.

I suppose you are right GY, depending on where these universities are located they may be more or less willing to accept certain speakers. So you are a Husky; congrats on your recent championship!
