DNC claims Republicans think illegal immigration should be a crime

May 31, 2011

A spokesman for the Democratic National Committee–Debbie Wasserman Schultz–had this to say about the Republicans’ stance on illegal immigration:

We have 12 million undocumented immigrants in this country that are part of the backbone of our economy and this is not only a reality but a necessity,” she said. “And that it would be harmful–the Republican solution that I’ve seen in the last three years is that we should just pack them all up and ship them back to their own countries and that in fact it should be a crime and we should arrested them all

She has a problem with this?

Of course she couldn’t bring herself to use the term “illegal immigrants,” opting instead for the politically correct term “undocumented workers” but we all know that those who are undocumented are undocumented for one reason and one reason only; they are here illegally. So what she is saying is that the Republicans believe that coming to this country illegally should be a crime. What a radical concept this is indeed, equating illegal and crime. What is it about the word “illegal” that these people do not understand?

She makes it sound as if treating people who have committed illegal acts as criminals is wrong and this shows just how out of touch all of the politicians–Democrats and Republicans–who support amnesty for illegals are with the American people.

I guess we should look at the bright side. at least she doesn’t hold a position in the Obama regime.

You hit the nail on the head. They are criminals, they broke the law, they should expect to be shipped back to their country of origin when they are caught. Nuff said.

Somehow the pro-amnesty people forget that these people are here illegally; I don’t think there is anything wrong with sending the illegals home when they are caught and she is trying to use that against us. But I don’t think it will work because most Americans want people to follow the rules to get here.

This is the same woman who said Republicans would kill the U.S. auto industry then we learned she owns an Infiniti (made by Nissan).

I think the exact quote was – “If it were up to the candidates for president on the Republican side, we would be driving foreign cars. They would have let the auto industry in America go down the tubes.” Way to support US products Deb.

Memo to Debbie, illegal immigration actually is a crime. “She” (the jury is still out on that) is using the red herring of civil v.s. criminal.

That is exactly what she is doing but the word illegal means what it means and I don’t think this is going to work this time.

Are all dems this intelligent? Or is that party just really bad at picking DNC chiefs?

Sad to think people lap up this pablum without a second thought.
Words mean things no matter how hard they try to reinvent the dictionary.

Stuff like this always makes me flash back to that famous quote from President Clinton – “It depends on what the meaning of the word ‘is’ is”. Kind of makes me feel nostalgic. Obama makes those look like the good old days.

Who would have thought that we would have a president who made conservatives long for Bill Clinton?!
