George Stephanopoulos implies the media will investigate Michele Bachmann’s foster children

June 28, 2011

When Michele Bachmann appeared in Concord New Hampshire back in March and erroneously declared that this was the place where the shot heard around the world occurred I was fairly harsh on her for this historical gaffe. This was the first time that I paid any real attention to Michele Bachmann and I was less than impressed with her for her lack of knowledge regarding American history, but then came the debate a few weeks ago and she caught my attention; in a field that I would categorize as less than impressive Michele Bachmann stood out and I feel she did exceedingly well in the debate. I have decided to give he a close look during the primary, and have not ruled out casting my vote for her.

And now the media is firing at her with both barrels, and the fact that the media finds her so offensive has me thinking that there is something about her that they fear; and when the media is against someone I tend to gravitate to that person. During a recent interview with George Stephanopoulos it was implied that the media would be investigating her 23 foster children in an attempt to bring her down.

Foster children come from broken homes and troubled backgrounds and the people who are willing to become foster parents know and understand this, yet they choose to take in these children in the hope that they can raise and nurture them in a loving home with the goal of helping to turn these troubled children’s live around.

The media knows this of course, and will be looking to use the backgrounds of these children, and any acts these children did in their past as a reason to attack Michele Bachmann when they should be celebrating her committment to helping these children possibly turn their lives around. I find this a disgusting political ploy to say the least.

If the media wants to investigate the background of the candidate running for office that is one thing, but to involve the children of the candidate is in extremely bad taste, especially when the motives of that candidate are as pure as were Michele Bachmann’s. I find it interesting that the media may feel legitimized to investigate Michele Bachmann’s foster children’s background but were less than enthusiastic about investigating–or even reporting–the background of Barack Obama, including his associations with the now infamous Reverend Wright or Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, or his admission to seeking out radical communists and Marxists while in college. If the media had done their job when Barack Obama was still a candidate the country would be better off today, but they ignored Barack Obama’s radical ties, and now they are looking to capitalize on Michele Bachmann’s charitable nature.

There is a double standard that is astounding, and while this is the latest example it is not the only example; Michelle Bachmann is under fire in the media for confusing the birth place of John Wayne, yet the media did not bat an eye when Barack Obama claimed he visited 57 states, and the media ignored Barack Obama when he repeatedly mispronounced “corpsmen” while reading the teleprompter, and the media promptly corrected him when he accidentally alluded to his Muslim faith, and the media found it to be no big deal when he committed the most egregious gaffe of all when he declared that he gave the Medal of Honor to a living soldier whom he awarded the honor to posthumously.

It is none other than Barack Obama who has proven himself to be the “flake” and yet it is the misogynistic media which questions whether or not Michele Bachmann is a “flake.” Michele Bachmann is a stand up woman who lives by the very code that she wishes others to live by, and perhaps that is what is most upsetting to the media, they cannot bring her down so they will stoop to the level of trying to bring her foster children down in the hope that she will go down with them.

There was a post a week or so ago at American Thinker where the author was suggesting that every the liberals or media do something like this the we in the Blogosphere should ridicule them immediately with a buzz phrase like :” Alinsky Alert, Alinsky Alert, they are at it again!”. maybe that wasn’t such abd idea.

Some clown on Twitter suggested that she did the foster children thing to collect the stipend from the state; I told him that’s ridiculous. I don’t think she’d make a good President, but she walks the walk when it comes to being pro-life, even if it does mean she’s anti-choice.

Having all those foster kids doesn’t make her qualified to be President, but it does give her great credibility when it comes to discussing the problems facing our country’s families.

Problem is, she’s coming out with gaffes on a par with “57 states.” I’m usually willing to have a chuckle over them and move on, but after the hooping and hollering over “57 states,” (Hannity raised it again yesterday just before I switched stations), I wonder if liberals are going to be as generous with their understanding.

Have a pleasant evening and may God bless us all!

I also find it hard to believe that the ” stipend” from the government would make it worthy for her to assume these foster children as a way to get rich. She considers it enriching because of the service she is providing to these children in need, and the fact that some on the left are looking for alterior motives behind her actions is telling in and of itself.
I would agree that the Concord gaffe is bad, probably worse than the 57 states gafee, but the John Wayne gaffe? Not so much, although she should have a handler that checks her facts before she speaks.

They wasted tons of money, time, and energy going through Sarah Palin’s emails. And they found – nothing. They will waste tons of money, time, and energy doing something similar with Michele Bachmann. And they will find – nothing.

Agreed! They will expend whatever money they feel is required in order to bring her downm and they are doing this because they are afraid of her. But they will find nothing.

    Great post!

Unfortunately, I don’t believe this will backfire at all. The media is famous for their double standards. And no matter how much we Conservatives call them on it, it doesn’t change their biased reporting.

And the willing dupes who gleefully parrot their agitprop will “Palinize” Bachmann for the sole reason that she’s a Conservative who makes gaffes like every other politician.
