Barack Obama blames the earthquake in Japan for the slow economic recovery in America

August 2, 2011

Barack Obama’s economic policies have failed and the economy has suffered further because of his policies. But Barack Obama simply cannot take ownership of this economy and has instead decided to look everywhere but in the mirror when trying to slice up the blame pie.

I happened to be on my lunch break when the president gave his speech after signing the “House Republicans cede the power of the purse string over to a committee of 12” legislation more commonly known as the debt ceiling bill and couldn’t believe my ears as Barack Obama blamed both the earthquake in Japan and the Arab Spring (the same Arab Spring he was taking credit for starting before it was learned that terrorist organizations were behind the rebel causes in many of the countries) for slowing down the United States’ economy.

In the last few months, the economy has already had to absorb an earthquake in Japan, the economic headwinds coming from Europe, the Arab Spring and the [rise] in oil prices — all of which have been very challenging for the recovery. But these are things we couldn’t control

Typical; Barack Obama looks to blame things that were beyond his control for his failings as president. It couldn’t possibly be his fault that his policies have failed, there must have been extenuating circumstances beyond his control. He had to look long and hard, but he was able to find events in foreign countries which he thought he could use to deflect the blame, but Barack Obama has lost all credibility as a leader and nobody is buying what he is selling anymore.

At least it isn’t George Bush’s fault anymore?

Good point, I am surprised he didn’t mention the economy he inherited. Perhaps he knos the American people aren’t buying that excuse anymore.

Sadly around 50% of the people are buying it and want more, funny thing is the main stream narrative is the tea party got their way, when infact most tea party members in bith house voted against it and have pblicly come out against it.
this is their way of blaming the misery to come on the tea party

That would be the 50% who don’t pay taxes. They are going to try to pin this on the Tea Party even though the Tea Party held out and had nothing to do with the deal in the end, and nobody in the media will call them out on it–in fact they will help the narrative along.

I think BHO needs sensitivity training. If you were Japanese hearing an American whine about suffering from the earthquake in Japan, wouldn’t you be disgusted?

Good point! Can you image being Japanese and hearing the president whine about “absorbing” this disaster?

    It’s simple:
    Japan’s disaster hurt our economy
Japan’s disaster was a result of Mother Gaia’s pain brought about by man made climate change.
Climate change is because of Bush.
    It’s all Bush’s fault.

Let’s see if I understand this.Obama restricts oil and gas exploration and development, puts impossible regulations on coal mines and coal-fired power plants, tells Boeing they can’t build a factory in a right to work state, etc., all of which seriously hurt the economy but he had to do it because of an earth quake in Japan and because of the Arab Spring. Oh, yeah, I can see that. What makes me mad is that he thinks Americans are stupid enough to buy his lies.

Very sad. Americans really beleive this crap. I am sure BHO will get back around to blaming GB, the Tea Party, Republicans, and anyone else who did not vote for him for the economy before this election cycle is over. The left has already done permanant damage to the country in the last two years that we may never recover from. And Obama will never be held accountable by a lot of the media or academia.

It will be up to us to hold him responsible at the ballot box because if he gets another four years we won’t recognize this country when he is done.

Whine, whine, whine. My friend who works for Lexus has every reason to blame the earthquake for his smaller paycheck, Obama does not.

Exactly, I know there were people who were hurt by the earthquake but it seemed petty for the president to stand before the American people and use that as an excuse.

Hmmm, he couldn’t help ignoring congress and starting a third war? I wish he would elaborate on that a little.

I hate people who blame others for their failures and shortcomings… obviously there’s no personal growth to be had from that, small wonder Obama’s incompetent at everything, even lying lol

That is a good point, Obama hasn’t learned a damned thing from all of his misadventures.

We were listening to Rush in the car when it was interrupted for Pres’ statement, so we heard it too. I guffawed when he mentioned the earthquake in Japan. It’s so ludicrious; he makes excuses like a child.

He also got in that Marxist trope about the problem being the rich not paying their “fair share.” At least that turned into a learning point for my nine year old, who has already learned that when somebody cries “that’s not fair!” chances are good they really mean “do it my way!”

    Fair share.

This is so typical. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more pathological liar in the WH. That, and they continue to lie in spite of the fact that so many aren’t buying it.

Just remember what George told Jerry in Seinfeld when Jerry wanted to beat a lie detector test: it’s not a lie if YOU believe it. I think Obama has lied so much that he now believes what he is saying.
