Democrat thanks Barack Obama for bypassing the Congress on immigration
Last month Barack Obama announced a new immigration policy which basically granted illegal aliens defacto amnesty unless they commit another crime. He did this by fiat, bypassing the Congress and basically telling DHS and ICE not to enforce federal law under the guise of “prioritizing” which illegal aliens would be prosecuted and which ones would be let go.
Today Democrat Representative Luis Gutierrez thanked Barack Obama for bypassing the Congress:
We had a president of the United States that recently was speaking at National Council of La Raza who said during his speech, ‘There are those who simply wish me to bypass Congress when it comes to immigration,’ and many in the audience clapped, saying, ‘Yup, bypass Congress…’” Gutierrez told the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) conference on Monday.
“He (Obama) said, ‘But I can’t bypass Congress,’ and people in the audience said, ‘Yes you can,’ and you want to know something? They were right — he could and he did, and I want to thank the President of the United States, and I want to thank all of those that work at the White House for issuing new guidance when it comes to deportations
Here we have a Democrat member of the House thanking Barack Obama for bypassing the Congress, of which he is a member, because he feels it is more important for the president to implement policies that he believes in than it is for his colleagues to actually have a vote on that issue.
It isn’t very often that we hear of a member of the Congress thanking the president for ignoring the legislative branch but that is exactly what Luis Gutierrez is doing here. He is willing to relinquish his responsibility because he agrees with the president on this issue, but he doesn’t give a damn about how the other members of the Congress feel about this issue. And would he still feel as if this were appropriate if it were a Republican president who implemented a policy with which he disagreed?
We have heard a new campaign slogan from Barack Obama over the lest week or so; he claims that it is time for Republicans to put country over party when talking about his new “jobs” bill, but what is Gutierrez doing if he is not placing party ahead of the very system set up in the constitution?

Steve, he is just looking for votes and thumbing his nose at the rest of us. Don’t you love how in less than 3 years he has pretty much neutered Congress and they seem to have not felt a thing. Sorry for the visual you probably got from that, but I don’t know how else to put it.

All of you thought that the corruption from the Peoples Republic of Illinois stopped at our many indited and jailed Governors and the”Community Organizer” currently holding the highest elected office in the land. I have news for you, not only do we have Luis in congress who is a supporting member of the FALN a Puerto Rican terrorist group.We have Bobby Rush also. Bobby is a card carrying member of the Black Panthers. We have some of the finest communists left in office in the world here. Most of the voters here in Illinois (democrat of course) are very proud of our accomplishments.

That will not happen until we remove the Democratically controlled administration from Springfield. Chicago has such a grip on this state that even though there are alot of Republicans, they always seems to pull the votes from somewhere. I have come to realize that most Republicans think things can be done “legally” and apparently just don’t see what they are dealing with. The Democrats in this state will stop at nothing to make sure they keep control. Nothing. We need to start getting as ruthless as they are, but that will remain to be seen. If there is another way to fight this, I just don’t know what it is. At some point, being honest and wanting what is good for the Country has gone the way of the Edsel and Pacer. I am sure I dated myself, but some of you will know what I mean.
