Darrell Issa to launch investigations into Solyndra and LightSquared

September 20, 2011

Now that Darrell Issa is on the verge of appointing a special prosecutor to investigate the deadly Fast and Furious operation he has a little more free time and he has decided to launch an investigation into the two latest scandals that have rocked the Obama regime–Solyndra and LightSquared.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Tuesday that his committee plans to investigate government loan programs to private corporations in light of allegations of improper dealings between the White House and failed energy company Solyndra and wireless start-up LightSquared.

“I want to see when the president and his cronies are picking winners and losers… it wasn’t because there were large contributions given to them,

For those who are unaware of these latest scandals I will give a very brief summary: Solydra was a green energy company that Barack Obama wished to make the centerpiece of his new green jobs initiative, and the owner just happened to be a major donor to the Obama campaign, so he fast tracked a review into the solvency of the company in order to present Joe Biden with the needed backdrop to announce the initiative. By doing so Barack Obama ignored the warning signs and granted Solyndra a $500 million loan in stimulus funds. Predictably the company went bankrupt and because Barack Obama changed the rules agreed to in the stimulus bill the campaign donor was granted priority over the American taxpayer for any funds recouped in the bankruptcy. The campaign donor was protected and the American taxpayer is on the hook for the entire $500 million.

The LightSquared story isn’t much different: LightSquared is a company which is owned by a major Democrat supporter and they created a new GPS technology. The military is worried that this technology would interfere with military GPS technology so a review was being conducted into this claim but the White House has pressured at least two people to change their testimony in order to favor the company over the military’s concerns.

This reeks of the very same type of crony capitalism that Barack Obama condemned during his 2008 presidential run and now Darrell Issa is poised to begin investigating this new “partnership between business and government” and it doesn’t come a moment to soon.

With the success that Darrell Issa had in unraveling the government’s involvement in the death of Brian Terry in the Gunrunner scandal I have no doubt that he will get to the bottom if this if any crimes have been committed.

To Barack Obama I have only one thing to say; be afraid, be very afraid.

It appears that Rep Issa has his pick of what to look into next, doesn’t he? Hopefully he will dig into this one, bring up what he can and pass it on to a Special Prosecutor and move on to the next illegal act this administration has tried to get away with. By now, maybe the administration knows there are people watching what they are doing. It used to be that they would throw out something meaningless for us to focus on, but now we know to disregard that and really pay attention to the important stuff. I even see the liberal MSM coming around, not because they want to, but because they are being shamed into it. Wish I knew what made them start taking a one sided stance on reporting. If they were bought, shame on them, we expected more from them. We expected “honesty”, something that has been sorely lacking in this administration since Day One.

An interesting thought; if Issa accomplishes nothing else perhaps he has made Obama realize he simply cannot do whatever he wants.

Yes, I think the game is up, we are not playing it anymore. So much for the, “can’t we all just get along” attitude. No we can’t and no they can’t keep pulling this sh*t! The media has lost all credibility with most people and we have no respect for what is in our White House. Things have been taken to an all time low. There is alot of blame for what has happened and let’s hope it gets placed on the right shoulders when the time comes. Somebody needs to fess up and take some responsibility for this mess. I can take blame for alot of things I have done, but I will be d*mned if I will take credit for this mess. I didn’t vote for this administration, so somebody else step forward.

I’m with you; I refuse to accept any blame for what is now happening because I didn’t vote for this administration. They say you get the government you deserve and if people were willing to give a man with no experience the most powerful position in the world, it is hard to argue with that statement.
