Senate Democrats to delay jobs bill until after vacation

September 27, 2011

How many times during–and since–his speech to the joint session of Congress did Barack Obama demand that his jobs bill be passed right away? The answer is simple; too many times to count, hell, he was demanding that the Congress pass the bill even before there was a bill, but still he claimed that it was of the utmost import that the bill be passed right away in order to save the economy.

Apparently it wasn’t so important that Barack Obama couldn’t go on vacation before he introduced his bill, but when he came back from vacation he finally introduced the legislation and up until now nothing has happened. And this is exactly what Barack Obama wanted all along; He intentionally introduced a bill which he knew the House Republicans wouldn’t pass so that he could use it as a campaign issue in his bid for reelection.

But there is one little problem with this plan because it isn’t the House Republicans who are holding up this bill, it is the Senate Democrats who want nothing to do with this legislation. So while Obama is out there demanding that the Congress pas his bill, it is his own party that is undermining his campaign plan.

The Senate will not vote on Barack Obama’s jobs bill before they adjourn for a weeklong vacation and once that vacation is over the Senate Democrats are not slated to make the jobs bill the number one priority and instead will debate a bill on China trade and currency manipulation.

This is what Harry Reid has to say about his decision to delay the bill that Barack Obama claimed must not wait:

Mr. Reid is the Senate sponsor of the measure, but he said there are other priorities.

“We’ll get to that, but let’s get some of these things done that we have to get done first

This doesn’t sound like somebody who is in agreement with the president over the urgency of the jobs bill, does it? As I wrote above; I do not believe that Barack Obama wants the jobs bill to pass but he didn’t want to be undermined by his own party either and that is what is happening.

Barack Obama has never let the truth stop him in the past, and it won’t stop him this time either; Barack Obama will continue to claim, as he crosses the country on his reelection tour, that it is the Republicans who are stopping this bill because they are unwilling to raise taxes on the richest Americans, all the while knowing that it is the Senate Democrats who are holding up this bill because they know it is doomed to fail just as the last stimulus bill failed.

He is betting on what he feels is the stupidity of the Average American voter because he feels we will not see what is actually happening, and I find it appalling that he feels we cannot see what is going on. But we see what is going on and we are paying attention; Barack Obama can cross the country making these false claims but in the end I trust that the American people will realize how duplicitous this regime has been from the very onset.

Obama learned his politics on the streets of Chicago, I should said he learned them well. Obama is like most who make politics their lifetime job —- most all of them feel they are smarter than the voters and can easily fool the voting masses. Heck, he did it in 2008 to a majority of Americans and he trying it again. But that old, old saying may come into play this time around—-“fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”.

You make a great point; Obama feels as if he can fool the people this time around because he fooled them the last time. But I don’t think it is going to work this time.

Ron, we have way too many Chicago thugs hanging out at OUR HOUSE! Maybe we need to serve a 5-day eviction notice on them.

Now that would be great, but I am just hoping they will be evicted next November!

Here’s what Boehner should do, Steve. He should tell the President that although his Party does not believe the Jobs Bill will work, in fact we think it will make matters worse, but, the country is in a crisis and you are our leader, so we’re going to let you have a chance. We in the House are going to pass your bill. Then sit back and watch the Senate defeat the bill. That will be the end of Obama. 🙂

I love that idea! I don’t think it will happen but wouldn’t you love to see Boehner put the pressure right back on the Democrats?!

C on F, I agree we need to let the Senate earn their salaries. They can answer to their constituents when they go home.

So much for “pass the bill right now”. I am not normally one to rub the obvious in someone’s face, but this is simply funny. The President can’t even get his own party to toe his line in the sand.

LD, he can’t even get on MTV now. He needs the young people on board his bus and MTV turned him down, can you believe that? He is tanking, so he goes on another “tour” trying to touch base with “his people”. I am just not sure who they are anymore. I don’t think anyone is glad to see him show up. He blocks the roads and keeps people from their vacation time or delays their flights, that is probably getting pretty old by now.

They are afraid to go near this bill as well because they know it won’t do anything but anger the American people before an election. I think Obama may have miscalculated Senate support of this measure and didn’t think the Dems would hold this up.

They STILL haven’t passed a budget.

Besides… keep it alive for a campaign issue.

No one really wants to touch this thing. I know I wouldn’t.

You’ve got that right. The Senate Dems know this is going to fail and will only anger the American people and they are not going to go anywhere near this bill.
