Gunrunner: The White House released more documents, but is still withholding others

October 1, 2011

Acting on a request of the Oversight Committee the White House released more documents concerning the Fast and Furious scandal late Friday night. We have previously learned that while Barack Obama denies having had any knowledge of this scandal while it was happening that at least three important staff members in the White House did know about it.

These newly released documents are related to these three White House insiders, and the White House claims these documents prove Barack Obama had no knowledge of what was happening in his administration:

As today’s production makes clear, none of the communications between ATF and the White House revealed the investigative law enforcement tactics at issue in your inquiry, let alone any decision to let guns ‘walk

But–and there always seems to be a “but” when dealing with the Obama regime–the White House did not release all of the documents which were related to these three White House insiders; the White House is withholding internal emails sent between these collaborators:

These internal NSS emails are not included in the enclosed documents because the [Executive Office of the President] has significant confidentiality interests in its internal communications

The documents were not released because the president has “significant confidentiality interests” in these documents being kept secret. Now that is interesting, isn’t it? What is the president trying to hide by withholding these documents? His supporters would probably defend this by invoking the “state secrets” theory that releasing the documents would be damaging to the country and possibly even threaten the lives of people still in the field.

And they may be right, but I believe these documents could very possibly be the link between Operation Fast and Furious and Barack Obama and that is the “significant confidentiality interest” that the president is most concerned about–covering his own ass.

The White House only released documents which did not indict Barack Obama–and also didn’t mention the fact that guns were walked into Mexico–and then tried to use this as proof that Barack Obama was simply ignorant of what was happening in his administration and not directly involved in it, (and there was no criminal activity taking place anyway because no guns were walked into Mexico) but a person cannot simply pick and chose which evidence to release and which evidence to withhold and then expect the people to accept the official story as truth when so much is still being hidden.

Until we see everything we know nothing, and that is exactly the way the White House wants it.

Lots of luck with any documents that will impact Zero showing up. But then again, coverups can be hell!

The Obama regime keeps dumping these documents in dribs and drabs as needed, but one has to wonder if they would have been better off just releasing everything all at once rather than let this scandal drag on into the election.

B, you must have a bit of faith! I believe there are “copies” floating around out there that are someones insurance policy in the event they get thrown under the bus. I imagine there are those doing the CYA in triplicate, don’t you? I am just glad I don’t work for this administration. I would hate to list them on a resume, who would hire me?

Maybe if the regime tries to scapegoat somebody in the White House the papers will suddenly appear by someone who is trying to save themselves. It seems to me that it would have been better to just release them all and get them out there; there must be something really damaging in there to hold them back.

I know I feel better as well knowing that the regime is stating this proves their innocence as well. 🙂

So, we are back to “selective release”? Interesting! Imagine there would be some verying damning evidence it if were all released, don’t you? It is not as if it is going public, I am sure that Issa/Grassley would keep the part that they don’t want out as confidential. Bottom line, once again, is they are hiding and protecting something or someone and I am pretty sure we know what that something is and who that someone is. It is amazing that they can just say, no, I am not going to send it to you. I bet that would go over well, if they wanted infor from Issa/Grassley..oh ya, they DID ask for all the testimony that they had. Do you know if Issa sent it or not? I would be withholding that until I got what I wanted. But guess Issa is not the president, hmmm?

They are still hiding something; there is no other reason for keeping these documents hidden and I think it may be a political miscalculation not to have released all the documents right out front because this is now going to run into the election cycle. I can only hope that the GOP candidates will use this issue against the president moving forward–so far they have been unwilling to do so.

Isn’t this called “obstruction of justice”?

The Obama regime has been obstructing justice from the moment this scandal broke and have even gone so far as tampering with evidence at Brian Terry’s murder scene.

Ah, pleading the 5th and obstruction of justice from our government administration…..don’t you fee all warm and fuzzy now? And they wonder why we don’t trust them? Really?

Is it any wonder the Obama regime has lost all credibility?!

I really was not aware they HAD an credibility. But, if you say they did, we will go with that. It is all a stall tactic to see how much we will tolerate from them. If we get loud, they will release a bit more, then they will take another “wait and see”, then repeat the above. This is all a big game to them, problem is, people were killed, I think that means it stopped being a game and became a disaster. I think they are so far over their heads, but they still think they have the upper hand. That shows how unqualified for the jobs they are. What do YOU think it will take to finally get The One out of office? I think he likes it there and will do damn near anything to stay. The problem is, will his handlers make the decision to put someone else in his place? This is just a total mess and we are paying for it and will have to pick up the pieces if there are any left to try and reassemble. That “hope” has sure changed to “hopeless” in my book, but we will keep up the good fight. We HAVE to.

Obama has lost all credibility with most Americans a long time ago but there is still a portion of Americans who do not see this and until we make these people see what is going on we will not be assured of an Obama defeat in 2012. I think we are getting to the point where Obama’s reelection is highly unlikely, but until he is voted out of office we must keep fighting.

I agree that he has lost alot of Americans in the last year or so, BUT, there are those that will never accept it, because that would mean they made a wrong decision. I know ones like that, they know they did, but will never admit to it, they change the subject when it is brought up. How stupid is that? When you are wrong, admit it, get over it and move on. Just don’t repeat it again, that is really STUPID and I can’t stand to be around stupid people. I sure hope his reelection is unlikely, but we have been fooled before when we let our guard down. We do not have the luxury of making another mistake this next time, I think it would be our last. So much for the “feel good vote” for The One, huh?

We have to hope that the people who won’t admit they were wrong in public will do the right thing in private when they go to vote.

Yes, I hope so, maybe they will and just not tell anyone else. I think it comes with maturity that you do the right thing. However, there are families that vote one way only because the FAMILY has always voted that way. Seems stupid, but guess there can be alot of pressure put on you that way. My parents were split on how they voted, but never pushed the three of us. They were also of 2 different faiths and that was not pushed either. They said we were going to make our own dicisions without them forcing it, as it should be. How it ended up with 2 very liberal brothers and ME (not), I can’t tell you, but we have some very heated conversations. I am the youngest, but can hold my own. So, my point is, I am not sure why someone leans one direction over another, but family probably has alot to do with it.

There is no doubt that family plays a role in it, after all parents try to instill their values in their children and that carries over into politics. I try to teach my children about history and instill in them conservative/libertarian values but when they grow up they will chose for themselves how they will vote. If they disagree with me on the issue I an fine with that as long as they form an educated position.
