Solargate: $1.4 billion in stimulus money sent to a “green” company owned by Robert Kennedy Jr

November 16, 2011

Stop me if you think you’ve heard this one before; the Obama regime granted a $1.4 billion stimulus bailout to a “green” energy company with ties to Democrats. But this is not the same story, this is just the latest in a string of questionable loan guarantees made by the Obama regime to push his unsustainable “green” energy initiative.

This latest example of crony capitalism at taxpayer expense involves a company named BrightSource whose largest shareholder is none other than Robert Kennedy Jr. But the ties to the Democrat party do not end there. One of Robert Kennedy’s employees was a person named Sanjay Wagle.

Sanjay Wagle was a top fundraiser for Barack Obama in 2008 and he was rewarded for his efforts with a position in the energy Department. Care to guess what his job was in the department? He was an adviser on energy grants. Perfect!

There are few details at this point, but it looks to me like the fix was in on this one from the very beginning, even before Barack Obama won the election it appears as if these three were scheming behind the scenes in the event that a stimulus bill was passed.

There is some good news in regards to BrightSource however, at least this company is still in business so the money wasn’t totally wasted in this case. But here is the bad news:

BrightSource touted the Ivanpah project as a green jobs creator.  Yet as its own website reveals, the thermal solar plant will only create 1,400 jobs at its peak construction and 650 jobs annually thereafter. Even using the peak estimate of 1,400 jobs, that works out to a cost to taxpayers of $1 million per job created.

  What a bargain!

Another day. News of another billion dollars waste by Obama. Yawn! Sadly, I’m afraid people are getting bored and are not listening any more. What a disaster this administration is!

Maybe that is part of the plan, numb people to the point where they no longer care.

The big question in my mind is where (and to whom) did the money go? No answers that I can find.

I think if we add it up we’re getting close to $3 billion!

    Big Oil = Bad
    Big Green = Good

Big Green doesn’t power anything except waste.

Oh I am really starting to enjoy this. The MSM cannot deny this forever. But somehow Obama will escape this no doubt. Great snag– made my day.

This keeps growing and growing and I don’t see how the MSM can ignore it much longer. This may end up being the scandal that does in the Obama regime. While Fast and Furious should be the number one story on the news I think that more people will care about Solargate because all taxpayers were affected by this.

It is bad enough that the DOE is focusing on Alternative Energy, but I have been surfing and discovered that the USDA has been doing the same thing. Millions and millions for alternative energy and bio-fuels. I can’t help but wonder what the other agency’s are funding. (I only looked back as far as the first part of October)
