Fort Hood attack classified as “workplace violence”
The Defense Department has now classified the Fort Hood attack by Nidal Hasan in which 13 United States military personnel were killed as “workplace violence.”
And all this time I had jumped to the conclusion that a man who opposed US involvement in the Middle East, shouting allahu akbar as he shot people dead in cold blood, and who was in contact with, and inspired by Anwar al-Awlaki–a United States citizen who was successfully targeted for assassination by Barack Obama–was guilty of terrorism.
What a relief this news is, whew.
In all seriousness though: We all know that Nidal Hasan carried out a successful terrorist attack on American soil and when I first heard this news I naturally thought that this was another case of political correctness running amok and it probably is, but I think there is more to it than that.
When Barack Obama was running for the office he now holds he liked to make the claim that George Bush made America less safe with his actions in the Middle East, yet it was on Barack Obama’s watch that Nidal Hasan carried out his terrorist attack. In his arrogance I feel there is the possibility that Barack Obama simply cannot admit that he failed to keep America’s heroes safe from attack while they were on America’s soil, and this is his way of diminishing the gravity of what happened and why it happened.
Either way it really doesn’t matter because if Barack Obama and his Defense Department do not even have the courage to call our enemy by their true name how can we expect to win this fight?
Eric Holder once claimed that America was a nation of cowards and perhaps he was right; only the cowards he should have been referring to are all within the Obama regime.
Steve, I can’t add anything to what you posted, well said.

I think it’s even more simple then that. In the Left’s view Islamic terror simply doesn’t exist. If an act of such terror does occur, it by definition must be something else.

Why no matter whos the republican nominee is someone like an Allen West or a John Bolton would make a great cabinet choice.

I couldn’t agree more, and if West was the VP candidate I would be able to support whoever the nominee is.

I really like both of them, we could do worse. They are both the voice of reason in an upside down world.

God Bless America! Only here could such a thing be termed “workplace violence.”
The guy was on jihad and saying otherwise is a lie and endangers the chance to prevent this sort of thing from happening again.

Exactly Harrison, if we are to afraid to admit who we are fighting what is the point of fighting any more?

Harrison, the amazing part to me is that no one but security was allowed to “carry” on base. If they had been, how long do you think this would have continued? They were pretty much sitting ducks and he knew it. Same thing goes for these campus shootings, but still our people that make the rules think we are safer if everyone is not packing. I can almost understand in a bar, because alcohol is involved, but I think it should be legal elsewhere. That needs to change. Only in Illinois are we still stuck with that rule for the whole state. Supposedly they are trying to change it over at the capitol, but with the ones in office, I doubt that will happen. I also have to admit, the wording used for what he did was so much easier to swallow. At least I can sleep at night knowing it was NOT terrorism. 2012 can not get here soon enough!!

Blame Bill Clinton for that one. He signed that bill into law.
