Newt Gingrich promises to issue Executive Orders to undo Barack Obama’s agenda on his first day in office
I was listening to Newt Gingrich’s speech after the Florida primary and I heard him once again promise to issue Executive Orders on his first day in office on abortion, the Keystone Pipeline, Obama’s czars, religion, and I am sure there were more but I can’t come up with them off the top of my head right now.
This was met with wild applause from his supporters in the room which I found quite interesting indeed. One of the complaints that conservatives have had with Barack Obama is what they consider his abuse of this power and yet Newt Gingrich’s supporters now agree with this as a means to undo what Barack Obama has done? Where is the consistency here?
If you believe that Barack Obama has abused the Executive Order to pass his agenda, how can you support Newt Gingrich using the same power to implement his?

It almost seems as if the Rhino establishment and them left seem to working in concert to neutralize Gingrich….WM

And there is no doubt in my mind that Newt’s conservative credentials are questionable on my mind, he did sponsor over 400 bills with Nancy Pelosi.

I too listened to Gingrich’s speech, and he did qualify his statement about his issuing those executive orders by assuring his audience that those orders would be within the law. That’s why I lean toward Gingrich. He’s both a historian and a constitutionalist, which is probably why the fat & happy elitists loathe him. Being an increasingly hopeless cynic, I’ve become a keen listener of politicians’ words. We have to keep our eyes and ears wide open.

Yes he did qualify his statement, but I bet Obama thinks his EOs were within the law also.

Executive order legality is now in the mind of the purveyor. I fear it will only grow as well as the so called “Rules” issued by the President’s minions.

Exactly! When the president can decide which EOs are legal we are setting up the prospect of despotism, this basically gives the president the authority to do whatever he wants to.

This administration issues caveat by “committee.” This is that process that worked so well in the former Soviet Union, Cuba and now Venezuela among other under-educated and repressed societies.
Obama only needs a small degree of constitutional mandate at this point – a temporary inconvenience for the dark path he has chosen for us..
Administration and enforcement under this non-representative system ensures an orderly society and economic benefits for the parasitic sociopaths and elites sitting at the top of the pile….WM

And he really isn’t even worried about finding even a small degree of constitutionality any more. His dictate that the conscience clause is null and void and his demand that religious institutes are not allowed to follow the dictates of their beliefs when it comes to abortion is proof of that.

Darn good question. I wish more people on both sides ask questions like this about the candidates/representatives that are their side of the aisle.

Thank you. It does strike me as odd and hypocritical that the same people who bemoaned Barack Obama for using the EOs are now supporting Newt’s desire to do the same.

You need to vote for SOMEBODY my friend… this is why you’re in the process of getting stuck with Romney, frankly
Santorum is a loser and Ron Paul totally unelectable (Thank God)
There IS no more-perfect conservative candidate in this race, this choice simply does not exist.
Gingrich was endorsed by Art Laffer and has done more for the conservative movement in this country than all the other candidates combined. You can find things you don’t like about any of them, and imho Gingrich offers the best chance of a Reaganite administration on defense and budget, my key two issues.
I won’t defend everything he’s ever said or did, but I will tell you he’s smart enough to know it’s in his own best interest (and the place in history) to deliver a cost-cutting administration that doesn’t abandon Israel to an Iranian bomb… just like he’s promised to do.
Tearing-down the only viable alternative to Mittens at this point makes no sense whatsoever to me… what’s the goal here?

If the choice is between Newt and Mitt I don’t really see much of a difference there. People are rightfully upset with Mitt over Romneycare but Newt has mandate skeletons ih his closet which will be used against him in the general. The other big issue with Romney is Bain, but Newt has Fannie and Freddie in his past. In a general election I think they both lose to Obama.
