Obama’s campaign accuses the Republicans of politicizing Trayvon Martin’s death

March 28, 2012

Earlier today Barack Obama’s Deputy Campaign Manager, Stephanie Cutter, accused the Republicans of playing politics with Trayvon Martin’s death, and urged them to let the investigation take its course.

His Republican opponents have jumped all over him because they do want to play politics with this issue. The President spoke from his heart on this, it was trying to emphasize with some parents who had just lost a child. By any measure, this was a tragedy and we need to let the investigation take its course,” Stephanie Cutter, Obama’s Deputy Campaign Manager, said on MSNBC today.
“People have to stop politicizing it,” she added. “It’s no surprise that some of our Republican opponents are trying to make an issue with this. But the President spoke from the heart and we need to let the investigation take its course

This on the same day that former Black Panther, and current Democrat Representative, Bobby Rush took to the floor wearing a hoodie in solidarity with the fallen teen; and this on the day that Maxine Waters also took to the floor and called this a hate crime in spite of the fact that all the details have not been made public in this case; and this on the day that Democrat Raul Grijalva claimed the Arizona immigration law would lead to the same type of profiling which Trayvon Martin fell victim to; and this on the day when Democrat Hank Johnson stated Trayvon Martin was executed for “walking while black in a gated community.” This was all done in the presence of the slain teen’s parents because they were invited by the Congress to listen in on the day’s proceedings.

So yes, this has been made a political issue, but Stephanie Cutter, and the rest of the Democrats was well as Barack Obama, would do well to remember that Republicans are not alone, and that the Democrats are not simply innocent bystanders in this story; they are duplicitous in the politicizing of this story, but she didn’t feel it was necessary to also reprimand the Democrats for their role in turning this into an election year political issue.

While Stephanie Cutter reminded the Republicans that there was still on ongoing investigation into the shooting, and while she was quick to berate Republicans for not letting the investigation run its course, she didn’t have one word for Maxine Waters–who has already concluded this was a hate crime even while the investigation is still being conducted–and she didn’t mention the fact that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson prematurely jumped to the conclusion that this killing was race based. Hell, she didn’t even condemn the fact that the New Black Panthers have put a bounty on the capture of George Zimmerman, or the fact that Spike Lee erroneously gave out what he thought was Zimmerman’s home address, putting the lives of an elderly couple in jeopardy.

All I am asking for is a little consistence here, is that too much to ask for?

Their premise is becoming more and more flawed and yet they are doubling down on it for political reasons while blaiming Republicans at the same time. THe Obama campaign is going to hinge on dividing Americans between gender, classes, and race and they cannot afford to let this crisis go to waste.

Speaking of playing politics: I would say that Obama’s remarks regarding the murder was pure politics at best. What better way to indirectly show solidarity with the race baiters with out having to engage in race baiting directly?

Exactly William, Obama’s words helped to stoke this fire and that was his intent. He might not have delved right into the controversy, but he did indirectly put himself in it and for his campaign to lay the blame at the feet of the Republicans is disingenous to say the least.

Oh, boy. Here we go again, with the left accusing the right of the things they are guilty of themselves. Standard operating procedure for them.

They just never let up, do they? And they have a media which follows them right along with whatever they say without question.

Consistency from the left? Are you kidding me? Seriously, I had to read your title twice. Then I thought Steve must be tired because he got his title backwards. Then I read your post and couldn’t believe it. Talk about hypocrisy. These people have no shame.

This is a sad situation any way you look at it, but there are countless others that never get past the front page of a local newspaper. I have to wonder if this is just being used as a photo op for the race baiters, if so that is sick. Any time that Sharpton and Jackson are involved that thought does occur to me. To take this to Capitol Hill is way over the top, let the city handle it, that is what they DO.

It is a very sad story and Trayvon’s death was avoidable, but there is a reason why this story has made national news and that is because the Democrats want to use it for political reasons.

You gotta love how Obama sneeks his two cents in stirring things up a million times, now you have the panthers with bounties flash mobs ransacking stores, hoodies in congress and he has nothing to say, wont call off the dogs, wont call for calm and to let the system work itself out.
He wants and needs unrest, their game is to shame the country into voting for the Black guy,
If you disagree you are a racist, you must remove yourself from reality, pretend his horrendous record is the fault of the republicans, big oil, racist teabaggers.
This man is a danger and a disgrace

Yep, he stirs things up with his comments, and then he disappears when things blow up and then his minions attempt to blame this on the Republicans. This is all part of the larger plan to divide the nation on the basis of race, gender, and classes because he feels as if his best chance at getting reelected is to divide the country and then conquer it.

Zimmerman was a demoncrap. But that wasn’t/isn’t ABOUT to be mentioned by the LSM. And speaking of said LSM, who is it owns them? Which side of the political fence?

I really get sick of this. First Obamakare is a Civil Right now some mixed race Democratic Hispanic (aka the “white” Hispanic as reported in the press) shooting someone else is a Civil Right.

    Absurd.

I hope Obama falls on his ass in November.

“Stephanie Cutter, and the rest of the Democrats was well as Barack Obama, would do well to remember that Republicans are not alone . . .”

You are too kind here. But Repubs have not politicized this case. See, the Dems are the ones that brought it to the forefront. They politicized a personal tragedy for political gain, ie, to try and rip on the “stand your ground” law and gun rights generally.

So when folks dare to complain about this false Dem narrative, then they get accused of politicizing. The Left does this every chance they can. But setting the record straight is not politicization. Wow I’ve typed that word too many times; now I’m not sure if it’s spelled right.

You are right, the Republicans did not politicize this issue they are simply resonding to what the Democrats have done. And in defending themselves from the attacks they have been accused of politicizing the issue.

I was wondering if Mr. Zimmerman was hispanic, he looks very hispanic and if that’s true, this whole election could blow up in obama’s face and he totally loses the presidency. At that point the white administration will have to prevent the new president from seeing what they’ve been up to by destroying the computers and access to information just like when President Bush came into office. which will again, leave us at the hands of our enemies.

Zimmerman is half Hispanic and half white, the race baiters saw his name and assumed he was white. This is why some news outlets are now calling him a “white hispanic.”

After this latest race baiting debacle which one deserves his own level of hell in Dante’s inferno, the stuttering, hairlip, corporate blackmailer Jackson or that Old Spice and pommade wearin’ New York street rat, Al Sharpton. Shame on anyone who addresses either of these two mail away charlatans as “reverend?” I say a pox on both their scammed houses.

Even as the evidence mounts that this was not a race related crime these two race baiters continue to fan the flames. I fear this is going to get ugly before it is over and Sharpton and Jackson will be responsible for anything that happens.
