Republicans file a lawsuit against Barack Obama’s recess appointments

April 17, 2012

Could it actually be true that Republicans are finally going to start pushing back against Barack Obama? It looks as if that could very well be the case as today the Republicans filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality Barack Obama’s decision to make a recess appointment to the NRLB when the Senate wasn’t actually in recess.

Here is what Mitch McConnell had to say about this decision:

The president’s decision to circumvent the American people by installing his appointees at a powerful federal agency, when the Senate was not in recess, and without obtaining the advice and consent of the Senate, is an unprecedented power grab. We will demonstrate to the court how the president’s unconstitutional actions fundamentally endanger the Congress’s role in providing a check on the excesses of the executive branch

All I can say about this decision is, it is about damn time.

I hope they nail his hide to the wall for this. He clearly has no respect for the other two branches of our government.

I hope so as well, Obama has made it a habit to run around the legislative branch while ignoring the judicial branch and it is about time that they Republican push back.

It would be easier to list all that he has done that’s been legal, a lot shorter list. As for the Republicans, I suspect they might be doing this because of elections coming up, call me skeptical. I don’t trust any of them anymore.

I agree Lou, the abuses outweigh the non-abuses and you are probably right about the Republicans; if it wasn’t an election year I wonder if they would have taken any action at all.

Finally! It’s about time they stand up against this out of control President. Maybe there is hope.

They have been unwilling to challenge him on this or other issues but maybe they are finally going to try to do something.

Whether it is being done for politics or not, I love it! Somebody needs to knock that smirk off of Obama’s face!

He’s smirking because he hasn’t been challenged, he needs to understand that he just can’t do what he wants.

Hopefully they don’t end up in front of a judge that Barry installed. Might actually be easier to take back the White House and just fire those people.

Taking back the White House sounds like a damn good plan to me, anything can happen in the courts.

Let us not hold our collective breath. The republicans have less balls than the eunuchs in an Egyptian harem. Since Claire McCaskill (D) is heading the committee looking into the GSA clown convention responsible for wasting a whopping $1 million while ignoring the$500 million pissed away at Solindra the repubs will now show how tough they can be. Wow, they must surely be scaring the opposition peeps on the hill. And since you asked, where the hell is the quiet man, The Mittarama? We know the election is already thrown so can’t he pander to us on the right by pretending he’s gonna’ fight back and throw a few marshmallows at Obama while the throwing’s good?

You are probably right and nothing will come from this, maybe it is all just for show to appease the right. I am not sure why Mitt hasn’t come out and made any type of statement on this issue.

Ol’ *cry me a river* Boner will cave, he has NO balls and no spine… If the GOP can find it within themselves to FIGHT the evil that IS Obama, they MUST purge the RINOs in the process.. .

Sadly I think you are right, it looks like he put the brakes on Fast and Furious and he will probably do the same thing here.

He has been a disappointment to say the least. At least he has a primary opponent, waybe that will wake him up. I doubt it though.

    Yes, I remember this.

Still, looks like sour grapes. Honestly, they should just work to getting Obama out in November though part of me want to see the Obama admin. lectured to by a judge about how he broke the law.

Getting Obama out in November is the only way to ensure he doesn’t do something like this again, I don’t see this lawsuit going very far.

How about a Mitt/Boner ticket? One can can keep such a low profile that the other can cry because he can’t find his running mate?
