The Washington Post is forced to edit its Mitt Romney gay bullying story because it contained false reporting

May 11, 2012

It has been known for quite some time that the mainstream media is nothing more than a propaganda arm for the Democrat party, that is not new, but what is new is the way the mainstream media has thrown away its journalistic integrity in recent days. It used to just be the case that there was a liberal bias to most of what was seen and heard in the mainstream media, and that was easy enough to deal with, but lately they have stooped to lying and falsifying evidence to push the narrative they wish to see advanced. And that isn’t so easily dealt with.

We first saw the most glaring examples of this during the Zimmerman/Martin fiasco down in Florida when, in an attempt to push a hate crime and anti-gun agenda, NBC, CBS, and CNN all were caught altering the so-called evidence in the case. All three stations eventually had to backtrack from their outright false reporting.

This appears to be the new journalistic standard being set by the mainstream media; create the story and the narrative then find the evidence to support it. If there is no evidence just make it up or help along the flimsy evidence you may have with a little embellishment if need be. And it appears as if the mainstream media has not learned its lesson–or simply doesn’t give a damn–from the Zimmerman debacle because here we go again.

This time the guilty news organization is the Washington Post.

Shortly after Barack Obama’s gay marriage flip flop the Washington Post ran a hit piece on Mitt Romney where they dragged up a story from his high school days in an attempt to paint him as a homophobe and a bully. It is interesting just how quickly the Post was able to come up with this breaking story so shortly after Obama’s evolution, is it not? It is almost as if the Post was coordinating the message with the Obama regime, but I am sure it is just another unbelievable coincidence and just a stroke of luck for the Obama regime as they look to divert attention away from his record. Right?

It turns out that the story wasn’t quite accurate and the Washington Post actually edited the original story once they got caught in a lie. There was no announcement of the edit and there was no apology for the mistake; the Washington Post tried to get away with hiding their error, but they were caught:

The original Washington Post piece stated the following:

“I always enjoyed his pranks,” said Stu White, a popular friend of Romney’s who went on to a career as a public school teacher and has long been bothered by the Lauber incident. [emphasis added]

  The problem with that statement?

While the Post reports White as having “long been bothered” by the haircutting incident,” he told ABC News he was not present for the prank, in which Romney is said to have forcefully cut a student’s long hair and was not aware of it until this year when he was contacted by the Washington Post

Mitt Romney’s buddy wasn’t even aware of the prank until the Washington Post told him about it, so how could he have been haunted by it all these years? (And by the way, he was contacted sometime this year by the Washington Post? How long have they been sitting on this story?) Here is what the Washington Post did next:

The article now reads:

“I always enjoyed his pranks,” said Stu White, a popular friend of Romney’s who went on to a career as a public school teacher and said he has been “disturbed” by the Lauber incident since hearing about it several weeks ago, before being contacted by The Washington Post. “But I was not the brunt of any of his pranks.” [emphasis added]

The Washington Post was caught in a lie while attempting to attack Mitt Romney on an issue which Joe Biden and Barack Obama thrust into the spotlight and they were caught, but instead of issuing an apology and admitting the mistake the Post simply tried to hide it as if it had never happened.

This is the latest example of how far the propaganda arm of the Democrat party will go in order to push a false narrative. There was a time when, while we knew what side they were on, we could at least believe the general idea behind the story was based on a truth and was simply spun to fit the agenda, but now we can’t even believe the general premise being reported on in the media because there is no integrity left in the media. The one and only goal they have is reelecting Barack Obama and if they will go to whatever lengths they feel are necessary.

This is another nail in their coffin, as far as I am concerned. Have you browsed through the websites of ABC and CNN? They have multiple stories about the gay marriage revelation by Obama and about how Romney bullied his fellow classmates because some of them were homosexual. They are clearly trying to push their agenda and never mind what the truth really is.

    Disgusting is what it is.

The media is in cahoots with Obama, there is no doubt about it, and they are promoting what Obama wants promoted. There really is no legitimacy left and they are no longer even trying to hide their bias.

I don’t think there is any quetion that WaPo coordinated this story with the White House. The mdia knows that they can distort the news and later edit it or even apologize because the damage is already done. The apologies are like fine print that nobody ever reads.

You are right Jim, the “news” is on the front page but the apology is always buried where it won’t be read and in this case the story was simply altered so nobody would know the difference.

The MSM has relegated itself to a vehicle for innuendo, falsehoods, lies and blantent partisan propaganda. – journalism is essentially dead in those MSM outlets that have adopted an agenda of false reporting to cover for the Obama administrations continued failure to effectively address our current economic problems.

It is also apparent that the MSM along with the White house socialists seem inured to the fact that radical or socialism of any sort is a prescription for economic disaster. The MSM are not to be trusted in any way shape of form….WM

The MSM is in bed with Obama and touting the party line, they no longer even make an attempt at appearing non-bias. They no longer report the news, the mold it.

That is the best way to state it, it is disgusting what the MSM is willing to do to a person just because he is a Republican.

Terrible. Not only that but the editors said they didn’t want to appear to be undercutting Romney after Obama’s gay speech so they said they’d just put it only online.

    Nobody reads stories online.
