The Washington Post finally admits it had to edit the original Mitt Romney gay bullying story

May 12, 2012

The day after Barack Obama’s evolution on gay marriage the Washington post ran an article about Mitt Romney and how he beat up and cut the hair of a gay boy while he was in highschool. The problem with the article is that it contained false information about one of Mitt Romney’s friends whom the article claimed witnessed the event.

The truth was that Stu White–Romney’s boyhood friend–never even heard of the alleged incident until shortly before the Washington Post asked him about it, yet still the Post reported that White “has long been bothered by the incident.” The Washington Post likely knew this was a lie, and when Stu White was interviewed by ABC News the Washington Post story began to unravel, but rather than come clean about their deceptive article the Washington Post decided to quietly edit the article in the hopes that nobody would notice.

People did notice and finally yesterday the Washington Post came clean to an extent when they put a note at the bottom on the article admitting the original story was edited and clarifying the deception. But the damage has already been done, on the heals of Barack Obama’s evolution the Washington Post tried to paint Mitt Romney as a gay beating homophobe and they did. That is why the note at the bottom of the article does not include an apology for the mistake; it was no mistake and the Washington Post is not sorry.

This Washington Post article in little more than a hit piece designed to make Romney look bad and deflect attention away from economic issues. Evidentally its full of half-truths and lies, but into the world of todays journalism it meets muster. Hopefully the full truth will be exposed and the Post will have to backtrack more. Maybe, just maybe this will anger some and renew calls for Obama to release his high school and college records. Short of him doing that, perhaps some dedicated reporter can dig up the truth about Barack and earn the respect of the american people. A little tit-for-tac is needed. I’ve had it with these one-sided hit campaigns, but realize those on the left simply cannot help themselves.

Ignorance is bliss so if the blissful ignoramuses stay home the first Tuesday in November Romney may stand a chance. With Romney’s blowing the chance to seize on Obama’s admitted but unapologetic drug use and other pathetic behavior in high school It appears that that his campaign will be nothing more than McCain II, the sequal.

I am afraid you are right and if Romney wanted to capitalize on this he should have asked about Obama’s school life or mentioned Obama’s cocaine habit.

I think the Obama regime will ask the MSM to back off of ROmney’s early kife because they are afraid it could lead to more calls for him to release details about his school life. That is an issue which was never probed and it should be.

What ever happened to just reporting the news instead of trying to make news? If the polls are any indication, it seems that the people are aware of what the media is doing and they don’t like it.

That is a vreat question Jim, the media no longer is simply reporting the news. In their attempt at outdoing each other they try to make news, truth be damned. This one seems to have backfired on them becuase it was so blatant.

It occurs to me tha Romney could turn this to his favor. He would do well to say publically that he was young and foolish once and that is not a sin. and, that his history is open to all twhowant to search it and he has nothing to hide; but, Mr. Obama apparently feels differently about his past.

    Just a thought.

I agree Jim, and that is why I think that Obama doesn’t want the media to probe to deeply into Romney’s past. Obama has much more to hide and he doesn’t want it revisited–or should I say visited–and I think he will do what he can to convince the media to drop this angle. That could be one thing that plays into ROmney’s favor.
