Agency claims ‘fact checking error’ to blame for Obama’s bio which states he was born in Kenya
Miriam Goderich is taking the blame for a 1991 literary agency bio which stated that Barack Obama was born in Kenya, claiming this was the result of a fact checking error and nothing more. Here is part of what she had to say in explaining this very interesting developement:
You’re undoubtedly aware of the brouhaha stirred up by Breitbart about the erroneous statement in a client list Acton & Dystel published in 1991 (for circulation within the publishing industry only) that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me — an agency assistant at the time
It was a fact checking error that lasted for 16 years and at least four updates. As Barack Obama’s career progressed the bio was updated, but the language about his Kenyan birth remained and one has to wonder why this error wasn’t caught until just after Barack Obama announced his candidacy for president.
The timing seems suspect indeed. An error of this magnitude was never caught until Barack Obama was running for president and then somebody finally updated the bio and removed the offensive language after 16 years and multiple revisions? It certainly seems as if somebody knew about this “fact checking error” based on how quickly it was removed once Obama was running for president. Could it have been Barack Obama himself?
That is something that Miriam Goderich denies:
There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii
However, that is contradicted by this story which states that Acton & Dystel actually asked all their clients to write their own bios. According to the story the client would submit his or her own bio, it would be edited by the agency and sent back to the client for final approval. If this is true the fact checker in question would be Barack Obama himself and that would go a long way in explaining how it came to be that the “error” was “caught” so quickly after Barack Obama decided to run for president. The error was no error at all, but an embellishment which was used by Barack Obama until he realized it would be a hinderance to his goal of becoming president of the United States. It is either that or Barack Obama was really born in Kenya and knew he had to hide that fact once he began his presidential bid.

Well Steve, if I wasn’t a sweet old grandma and a Sunday School teacher I’d holler “BULLSH*T!” right about now. “Fact-checking error” my hind leg! That’s CYA, is what that is. How is it the ONLY “fact-checking error” is about Barack Obama? Several other personalities were described in that booklet as well, and the ONLY one she goofed on just HAPPENED to be Barack Obama? RIIIIGHT!

CYA is exactly what this is. It is too much of a coincidence to believe sombody just happened to find the mistake right after Obama announced his presidential bid.

Gotta call horse pucky on this one. Did Miriam just make op the detail about Kenya? No, the information had to come from her client. She had no reason to doubt her client. This is CYA big time.

How is it that more evidence exists that Barry was not born here that evidence that suggests he was? Just that fact alone should raise suspicions. For my part, I’m convinced. That isn’t the only thing that disqualfies him either. His father was a British subject, not American. Obama disqualified, the end.

If he was born here then he has been lying about who he was for a long time because he thought it would hekp him. Sounds quite a bit like Elizabeth Warren, these people have no shame and feel as if they can do whatever they want because nobody will question them.

But heck, he’s been showing that all along, from the “it’s not class warfare it’s math” lie to the “after the election I can be more flexible” hot mike to the “Republicans won’t work with me” to the “I’m going to reduce the deficit” to the “I’m going to close Gitmo” etc etc ad nauseum, please add in the ones I forgot . . .

If the Jewish vote shows signs of defecting we may learn that his great great great great grandfather Kuntakinte was a member of Lo, one of the lost ten tribes of Israel. if his campaign detects that they are losing the Navajo vote we may learn that his mother’s first cousin’s ex-husband’s stepson was a wind talker in WWII.
