The Boston Globe finally writes an article critical of Elizabeth Warren

May 26, 2012

For the most part, since the Boston Herald broke the story of Elizabeth Warren’s fraudulent claim that she is a Native-American–despite her family folklore or grandfather’s high cheekbones–the Boston Globe has been virtually silent on the issue. With the exception of trying to offer proof–in an article the paper eventually was forced to correct–of Elizabeth Warren’s claim the Globe just didn’t think this story was newsworthy, but that changed on Friday when the Boston Globe could no longer ignore this controversy if the paper still wanted to be considered a legitimate news source.

Here is what the Boston Globe had to say when it finally decided to report on this story:

US Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren has said she was unaware that Harvard Law School had been promoting her purported Native American heritage until she read about it in a newspaper several weeks ago.

But for at least six straight years during Warren’s tenure, Harvard University reported in federally mandated diversity statistics that it had a Native American woman in its senior ranks at the law school. According to both Harvard officials and federal guidelines, those statistics are almost always based on the way employees describe themselves.

In addition, both Harvard’s guidelines and federal regulations for the statistics lay out a specific definition of Native American that Warren does not meet.

The documents suggest for the first time that either Warren or a Harvard administrator classified her repeatedly as Native American in papers prepared for the government in a way that apparently  did not adhere to federal diversity guidelines. They raise further questions about Warren’s statements that she was unaware Harvard was promoting her as Native American

None of this is news of course to anyone who reads anything but the Boston Globe because this has become a national story and Elizabeth Warren has become a laughing stalk around the country, but it has finally reached the point where the Boston Globe can no longer defend Elizabeth Warren or ignore the story. The paper has been dragged kicking and screaming into covering this story, and must feel as if it can no longer shield Elizabeth Warren from the criticism–better late than never.

It must be getting pretty discouraging for Elizabeth Warren to know the Boston Globe no longer has her back,  but Elizabeth Warren is within two points of Scott Brown in the most recent poll. This poll was conducted before the Globe’s Elizabeth Warren story hit the press so it will be interesting to see if Massachusetts Democrat voters who read the Globe will back up what they claim to stand for by voting against Elizabeth Warren in the primary. Yes, even though the field was basically cleared for her, and even though she is the establishment choice, she still faces a primary so Democrat voters could still do the right thing. But it will be up to the voters because the Massachusetts establishment still backs Elizabeth Warren because no other candidate can raise the money she can raise and in the end it looks as if money trumps morality.

How can a Democrat voter who claims to be for racial diversity and affirmative action possibly vote for a white woman who lied about her heritage to take advantage of the programs Democrats defend and promote if they know she lied in order to take a job away from a true minority who otherwise would have gotten the break handed to Elizabeth Warren? How can any minority voter justify voting for this woman?

Two years ago Massachusetts Democrats and the Democrat establishment ran a candidate against Scott Brown who felt she was above shaking the hands of the people she hoped to represent and in the end her arrogance brought her down, this year Massachusetts Democrats and the establishment appear to be on the verge of nominating a candidate who has lied about her heritage for many years in order to fraudulently advance her career by using the policies of the left  to her advantage.

Normally just having a ‘D’ after your name is enough to propel you to victory in Massachusetts–just look at the example of John Tierney–but that wasn’t the case in 2010, and if the Democrats really believe in affirmative action they will reject the woman who scammed the system for years. We will soon know if party and money trump morality and conviction in Massachusetts.

Wow! This is good news. People like Warren give liberals a bad name…oops…that was a redundant statement. Sorry!

I wonder how that paper is fairingI I think at some point if they are losing readers, do you think they will start coming clean and print what is really the truth? I guess if they want to keep their jobs, they might have to. There are alot of papers going under, maybe the writing is on the wall for them as well.

As best as I can remember the paper isn’t doing well. It was bought by the New York Times and has been losing money. Still, I don’t expect them to change too much in the future.

There are still a few Conservative voices in that paper but they are few and far between.

Surprisingly, Brown hasn’t pulled out a big lead over Dances with Lies.

It is unbelievable how many voters appear to not care about this issue. Hopefully as this story grows–and I think it is still just beginning–more people will realize what a fraud she is.
