Gunrunner: Newly uncovered documents contradict the testimony of several government agencies on Fast and Furious

June 16, 2012

Most of the focus of Darrell Issa’s Fast and Furious investigation has been trained solely on Eric Holder and the Department of Injustice and Brian Terry’s murder, while Eric Holder deserves all the critical attention he is receiving, the truth is that Fast and Furious was a much bigger operation and Brian Terry isn’t the only American to fall victim to this deadly scandal. In October of 2011, while Janet Napolitano was under oath, we learned that Operation Fast and Furious was an OCDETF operation which required approval from several government agencies including the DEA, FBI, ICE, BATFE, US Marshals Service, IRS, Coast Guard, and the DOJ. Fast and Furious was simply not the rash actions of rogue agents in the field as Eric Holder would have us believe.

While under oath Janet Napolitano stated that as far as she knew there was no connection between Operation Fast and Furious and the murder of Jamie Zapata, but of course it turned out that two of the weapons found at the scene were in fact sold to the drug cartels by the federal government as part of the deadly operation. And now newly uncovered documents show that several months before he was killed Jamie Zapata actually interdicted 80 weapons as they were crossing over the border into Mexico, 50 of which were sold under Operation Fast and Furious. Jamie Zapata actually filled out and signed the report, clearly he had a brush with Fast and Furious shortly before his murder.

Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was gunned down on December 14th of 2010 and died the next day, four months after Jamie Zapata uncovered the Fast and Furious weapons crossing the border, and several months later Jamie Zapata was also dead. That’s  interesting…..

Here is some of what we know about Brian Terry’s death in Peck Canyon: When Brian Terry was murdered he encountered a Mexican drug gang, and we know that everyone in that gang was either killed or captured at the scene where Brian Terry was murdered except for one person. We also know that the FBI was on the scene, and we know that three guns were recovered at the scene, but one “disappeared” because it could be traced back to an FBI agent who was undercover in a Mexican drug gang. The official government excuse for tampering with evidence at Brian Terry’s murder scene was as follows; the government removed the third weapon because it could be traced back to the agent and they did this to protect the undercover FBI agent, but it is possible that someone working either with or for the FBI fired the fatal shot and the weapon was removed to coverup the FBI’s actual involvement in Brian Terry’s death. And lastly we know that the FBI and the DEA both knew that Brian Terry was walking into an ambush that night armed with a beanbag gun and didn’t bother to inform him about the upcoming skirmish.

In a nutshell: Jamie Zapata interdicted weapons sold by the federal government to the drug cartels, four months later Brian Terry was killed after the federal government allowed him to walk into an ambush the government knew was coming and the FBI was on the scene, (on the other side) and several months later Jamie Zapata was also dead. We also know that the Injustice Department refused to grant Brian Terry’s family victim status to protect itself from a possible civil suit and recently the murder trail of those accused in Brian Terry’s murder has been indefinitely postponed.

Clearly the federal government is involved in a coverup of epic proportions which goes well beyond the Department of Injustice and these newly uncovered documents only lead to more questions. What is the government really trying to hide? Who really killed Jamie Zapata and for what reason? And, is it possible that Jamie Zapata was getting too close to the truth?

I have a fantasy where the worst in the government–Holder, Pelosi, Reid, McCain (yes, McCain) are lined up against the wall and shot. Obama is doused in gasoline and set afire.

    But, it’s only a fantasy.

wow! This is getting ugkier by the day. Agent Perry was allowed to walk into an ambush with nothing but a ben bag gun? Zapata may have ben silenced for what he knew? Their families deserve answers. NOW! And, somebody(s) must be held accountable.

I agree Fred, Obama must be stopped at all costs or it is over and the fundamental change Obama promised us will be complete.

I have been looking back at FF stories that involved Ice and found this:
    http://www.fastnfuriousinvestigation.com/2012_05_20_archive.html

“Investigative sources say ICE became involved in Fast and Furious in late 2009 when the agency began its own weapons smuggling probe and discovered the suspects were also being investigated by ATF.  An ICE special agent was then put on the ATF case, and later replaced by a second special agent. That agent worked on Fast and Furious through February 2011, serving as a liaison between ATF and DHS. Law enforcement and investigative sources say the ICE special agent was also involved in investigation and surveillance activities.”

Zapata was murdered on Feb. 15, 2011

There is one thing I have learned about lies and coverups. They tend to grow out of control. That’s what is happening here. Sooner or later, the lid is going to blow off Fast and Furious, just as it has done with other scandals our government has tried to cover up. The truth can only be hidden for so long. It will come out.

I agree Larry, I just hope it happens before the election because if Democrats somehow hold onto the Senate and retake the House this will disappear forever.

Well, as we have said before, we voted these people into office, time to vote them out. People will only pull as much as they can get away with, looks like we have given them a long rope to hang themselves, perhaps it is time to shorten that rope. That these kind of “coverups” have been allowed to occur, tells me that our “checks and balances” Congress is NOT doing their job. Then you add the few people that are trying to get an answer and you have the likes of AG Holder just throwing it in their faces that he is just not going to cooperate. What is up with that? Do we indefinitely postpone this contempt charge because now he wants to offer up his hand in giving them a few more redacted papers? What??? This whole show borders on the bizarre, doesn’t it? Each day is something more crazy than the day before. I liken it to the gas prices,,,we are actually happy that the gas is down below $4 a gallon,,, excuse me? They played it just right, didn’t they? Get the people used to something totally unacceptable, drop it off a bit and we will settle? Are we supposed to settle for what the government has done to alot of people just because of their mistakes? This makes no sense anymore, but people are actually buying what the are selling.

Issa has postponed the Contempt charges several times already and now with word that Holder might be willing to provide him with more documents I hope he doesn’t postpone it again. It is obvious that Holder is never wilingly going to turn over all the documents and this is another stalling tactic on his part, the time is now for holding the vote.
Holder a contempt vote should finally get this issue into the MSM and draw public attention to a scandal which already should have brought the Obama regime down and Issa cannot afford to let this opportunity pass.

It was dissapointing to hear that the vote was going to be delayed, but meanwhile the evidence mounts. Good one Steve, slow and sure we are getting there if we do not get blind sidedby Boehner.

A good point Bunkerville, while we may be getting irritated by the slow pace of this investigation it may work out to our benefit if this keeps dragging out. Holder is trying to delay the inevitable for as long as possible but in doing so heis giving the investigation more time to build the case against him.
