MSNBC edits a Mitt Romney speech to make him appear out of touch with the people

June 18, 2012

You may remember when MSNBC purposely edited George Zimmerman’s 911 call to make it appear as if his shooting of Trayvon Martin was racially motivated to push their political agenda, and you may remember that some nameless and faceless person at NBC was supposedly fired for this mistake. Well, apparently either MSNBC didn’t learn from this mistake or they think that people have forgotten about it, but one thing is certain, MSNBC will do whatever they feel is needed in order to get Barack Obama reelected and they have been caught once engaging in the art of selective editing.

This story comes from both SooperMexican and The Right Scoop and it involves a speech given by Mitt Romney which MSNBC edited to make him appear to be out of touch with ordinary Americans. Here is the clip as run by MSNBC:

Andrea Mitchell and her guest are laughing at Mitt Romney because he was amazed he could walk into a store, push a few buttons, and receive his order as he left the store. This shows that Mitt Romney doesn’t frequent too many convenience stores and because of this he is out of touch with modern technology and the American people according to MSNBC.

But there is one problem with this conclusion as is evidenced when you watch the unedited version of the speech:

Mitt Romney was clearly comparing the public sector to the private sector and using this as an example to show the difference between the inefficiencies in the federal government compared to the advances made in the private sector due to competition.

MSNBC had to have access to the entire speech when the network decided what to include and what to exclude in its broadcast, but unlike the Zimmerman 911 call where a few seconds were edited out, this should be much harder to explain away as a simple editing mistake and it is quite obvious that this was intentional.

Is it any wonder why the mainstream media is hemorrhaging viewers?

This editing was no accident. Somebody put in a lot of time to make it come out the way they wanted. And they know that nobody will be listening when they make a two second apollogy.

There is no doubt this was intentional and I don’t see how they can even try to deny it this time. I won’t be holding my breath waiting for an apology.

Remember, it was MSNBC that edited a video to appear that “white racists” were attending rallies with their guns, when the gun-toting “racist” they zoomed in on turned out to be a black guy. Same crowd, same tactics. I’m sure both of MSNBC’s viewers are okay with it though.

There is a reason that I eschew networks that purport to be news. All I can say wow… not even Briebart was this brazen.

More and more people are turning away from the MSM and this is the reason why. At least with Breitbart is only happened once while MSNDC is now beginning to have the offenses pile up.

Cood catch. This is why I don’t watch most news. Problem is, the truth won’t come out till the next day.

Many people have stopped watching the news and it seems as if because of this the networks are trying even harder to me more outrageous hoping to bring views in, but that is only driving them away even more.

I can’t remember the last time I watched the “evening news” or watched MSNBC but I see they are still up to their old tricks… this time even worse…

Is it just me, or is the media getting more brazen in their attempts to help Obama’s reelection campaign?

The old news media, be it TV or newspaper press, has lost almost all their credibility. They rail against the Internet blogs but at least when I read a blog I understand that it maybe be colored by the opinion of the blogger. The mainstream media tries to pass their opinion and agenda off as fact. Don’t they realize the information is being instantaneously provided via the internet. Their lies are becoming an annoyance if not just plain silly.

Exactly, many bloggers–myself incuded–read the news and give opinions on the issues, but that is all it is, an opinion. But the MSM passes of opinion as fact and I think that more and more people realize this everyday.

This is why I worry so about the Internet remaining free. I don’t trust google as well. They are removing more and more content upon request. The same with you tube.

This is exactly the reason why the Democrats are so eager to get their hands on the internet and why we must not allow it to happen.

I just read about this and I found it interesting that Obama would make Latinos give up their knives before he spoke. It seems like he is afraid of a certain stereotype and reeks of racism to me!

What a slap in the face to anyone that would be. First he gets their money, keeps the knives off the table and has the forks collected before he gets there.. I have never heard of such a thing. Guess $10,000 doesn’t get you much, does it? If it had been ME, I would have asked for my money back AND walked out, but guess peoples opinions vary.

Additional note: I think it was “precut chicken”, so no knives at all and the forks were what was collected. It appears that Romney had been there on Thursday to talk to the group and he didn’t do that, go figure.

The way I read it the people were told to quickly precut their chicken so they could take the knoves away from them. What an insult to the people who paid all that money to listen to him!

This is what was in the article:
“As you know, we’re having another speaker and there is some Secret Service involved. So there’s a reason why there’s no knives at your table and the forks will be collected.”
I can’t imagine donating to someone that trusted me so little that this would happen.

You are right, I “misremembered” and am going to have to pull a Holder and retract my previous statement. 🙂 I know if I were there and had paid that kind of money I would have been offended, I hope at least some were.

That’s exactly right, I thought it had to be a joke because I found it so hard to believe a president could be this desperate. But I guess he is.

Good grief people about the silverware. There is a restaurant in Schaumburg Illinois that serves chicken and soup that does not give silverware at all. People pay a pretty penny to get in and they do very good business (you pretty much have to have a reservation).

If I was paying as much as they people were paying to get in this event, I certainly would want the same treatment. Especially since I would be watching theatrics just like at the restaurant.
