Gunrunner: Darrell Issa turns up the heat on Barack Obama over Fast and Furious
Despite the fact that at least three people on Barack Obama’s national security team WITHIN the White House knew about Operation Fast and Furious the president had managed to insulate himself from the deadly scandal, but that changed last week when Barack Obama declared executive privilege and sealed the documents Darrell Issa had been seeking for a year and a half. It has always seemed highly unlikely to me that three people who were on Barack Obama’s national security staff in the White House received some information on Fast and Furious and not once did they decide that this issue was important enough to inform the president on what was happening in regards to this deadly scandal.
But now that Barack Obama has asserted executive privilege it opens up a whole new can of worms and one has to wonder what the president is hiding; what did he know and when did he know it? Darrell Issa also finds it a little suspicious that Barack Obama would seal documents on this case when he claims he hasn’t seen the documents and has previously stated he didn’t know anything about the scandal until he heard about it on television, and he has sent a letter to the president calling him out.
“[Y]our privilege assertion means one of two things,” Issa wrote to the president in a letter dated June 25. “Either you or your most senior advisors were involved in managing Operation Fast & Furious and the fallout from it, including the false February 4, 2011 letter provided by the attorney general to the committee, or, you are asserting a presidential power that you know to be unjustified solely for the purpose of further obstructing a congressional investigation.”
Eric Holder has been stonewalling this investigation for well over a year and he is doing it because he is protecting somebody–either himself or Barack Obama–and with Barack Obama’s willingness to throw his own grandmother and also his supposed spiritual mentor under the bus when it proved politically expedient, he was willing to protect his embattled attorney general when he could have distanced himself from the scandal by throwing him under the bus and one has to wonder who is protecting whom at this point.

I agree, Steve. I think Obama knew exactly what F&F was about when he met with Calderon in Mexico. He and Holder both have commited a crime against humanity in my opinion.

Jim, there really isn’t much else that needs to be said. I believe that a crime was committed by both the President and AG Holder, as well as a whole bunch of other administration higher ups.

Needless to say, but I will anyway, I agree with both of you. There is no doubt in my mind that Obama and Holder were in on this from the beginning and it is naive to think otherwise. In my opinion these two people are criminals.

Apparently, Issa feels the same. Pretty strong words there. Man do we need more Darrel Issa’s in Washington.

We sure do! I think Issa knows what happened and he is frustrated because he can’t get the proof he needs. Someone has told him all he needs to know and it is just a matter of getting the documents.

it doesn’t help Issa when elijah cummings, the democratic side of the investigation keeps making comments against the investigation & deliberately making it harder to go after holder and obama. nancy pelosi is also impeding the investigation because she had alot to do with obama becoming president, he’s her baby don’t cha know!

Cummings has been in the tank for Holder since the beginning of this investigation but thankfully he doesn’t have much pull at this time.
