Gunrunner: Eric Holder held in Contempt of Congress

June 28, 2012

Today the House voted on contempt charges against Eric Holder for failing to comply with a subpoena request for certain documents which may reveal either his or his boss’s involvement in the Fast and Furious scandal which led to the deaths of Brian Terry, Jamie Zapata, and countless Mexicans.

By a vote of 265-67 the House did vote to hold the embattled attorney general in contempt with 17 Democrats voting with the Republicans while many walked off the floor in protest of the vote. The House then voted 258-95 to pursue a civil contempt case against Eric Holder and this time 21 Democrats voted with the majority.

While the vote shows us that this was more than a partizan political issue dragged on by the Republicans as campaign fodder what does it actually mean? Not much I am afraid because while this will allow Darrell Issa to pursue legal action in an attempt to get the blocked documents the case will now be turned over to Eric Holder’s Department of Injustice for an investigation. How far do you think this is going to go?

This does help to highlight the depths that Barack Obama and Eric Holder will sink to in order to cover up the events which led to so many deaths, and it it weren’t overshadowed by today’s Obamacare ruling maybe people would have been paying attention to this story instead and would begin asking pertinent questions because it is clear that Barack Obama and Eric Holder are covering up something big. But what are they covering up? Eric Holder’s involvement? Barack Obama’s involvement? The FBI’s involvement?

There are many questions which still need to be answered and it is ironic that the man who promised the most transparent administration in United States history is the same man who is making it impossible to punish those who are responsible for the deaths of two American heroes.

Impeach, Indict, Arrest, Try and Execute Holder for Treason and Sedition and First Degree Capital Murder for over 300 Mexicans who died for his actions and for the Border Agents who died as a result of this seditious and criminal act, and then go after his boss, Obama, who is supposed to be able to know what his Fools In Charge are doing.

It wasn’t much of a victory but it was the best news I hesrd today. Obama should be imbarrassed but the man has proven many times that he has no shame.

That’s true Jim, I would take a defeat here and a win on Obamacare but that wasn’t to be.

So much for transparency and accountability in this administration. This is the most corrupt administration in modern history.

Fortune Magazine published an article yesterday with their findings from six months of investigation and research on Fast and Furious. According to the article, rogue ATF Agent John Dodson conducted his own gun walking operation, completely separate from Fast and Furious. Per the Fortune article, this appears to be the only time during Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious that guns were ever purchased with tax payer money and sold to people who would use them in heinous crimes in Mexico. The article also explores the possibility that Dodson meant to undermine his superiors as well as the ATF, but I was unconvinced. I think he is just a bonehead.

It turns out the ATF never sold guns. They monitored sales of guns throughout Arizona, but never had enough probable cause (under lax Arizona Law or according to right leaning federal attorneys) to pursue targets. The only reason guns “walked” was that Arizona Law recognized straw purchasers as law-abiding citizens EVEN WHEN GUNS THEY PURCHASED SHOWED UP AT CRIME SCENES IN MEXICO. Arizona doesn’t care how many guns you buy and doesn’t hold individuals responsible for who they resell guns to.

And the e-mail at the center of the Right’s accusations is, according to Fortune, an e-mail pertaining to scheduling…not gun walking. Turns out Dodson and his crew didn’t like working weekend wiretaps. Lazy asses.

The gun shop owners notified the feds that something was wrong with the straw buyers and the feds told them to sell to them amyway, this has nothing to do with Arizona law.

A Lone Wolf notified the ATF of a suspicious case at the gun shop where he worked, but in most cases the ATF knew where guns were being purchased but could not receive support under Arizona Law. If you read the article, it’s pretty clearly outlined.

Anonymous, that piece is a CNN blog written by a hardcore leftist Katherine Eban. Drudge has already dismantled her story. It’s all a crock.

Exactly right Steve Dennis–The gun shop owners were ordered by Justice Department Officials and ATF to make these sales. The gun shop owners had no choice, and if they had not been told to do it by official USA sources, they would not have done these sales. To try and blame it on the gun shop owners is exactly what the Obama Regime wanted to happen. The Government are the criminals here.

Exactly and even after the scandal came to light the Obama regime tried to punish the gun shop owners for selling these weapons even though they were doing what they were told.

        rjjrdq,

Can you please provide a link to this Drudge Report article? A search for Eban, Fast and Furious, Fortune and CNN does not yield results of a story debunking the Fortune Magazine story. All I found was this:

        http://www.drudge.com/news/158358/fortune-6-month-investigation-debunks-ff

It does not debunk anything. It’s merely and excerpt from the story and user commentary.

        Thank you.

It sure was a depressing day, hopefully Issa will be able to take this to the next level but it certainly seems like this is the end of the road.

After having watched an interview with Issa I sense Holder is going to fight this tooth and nail and won’t give an inch even if a smoking gun is found in his hand.

I agree and I think he will keep fighting this because Obama and the FBI are involved. He is not covering up something small here, it is huge.
