Obama campaign calls on Romney to release his tax returns to prove he isn’t a felon, while stating it is “preposterous” to ask for Obama’s college transcripts to be released
This was quite a day which highlights the hypocrisy of the Obama regime, and the left in general, quite nicely. First: we had the Obama campaign state that Mitt Romney should release his tax returns to prove he isn’t either a felon or a liar.
Cutter said that there were two ways to interpret the story. The first: Mitt Romney was “misrepresenting his position” at Bain to the Securities and Exchange Commission, “which is a felony.”
Or, he was “misrepresenting his position at Bain to the American people. If that’s the case, if he was lying to the American people, that’s a real character and trust issue,” Cutter said.
Cutter called on the Romney campaign to clear up by the issue by releasing the candidate’s tax returns.
“If the SEC filings aren’t accurate, then prove it,” she said
This was soon debunked and now the Romney camp is asking for an apology for the smear, but the damage has already been done. The baseless accusation was thrown out there, we can expect there will be no apology, and a certain section of the voting block will consider this to be fact. And even if an apology is forthcoming it won’t be covered with the vigor or with the lust the original claim was, if it is covered at all.
This brings us to the second story and this one involves Barack Obama’s unreleased college records. Earlier today Jay Carney was asked by a reporter if Barack Obama was going to release his college records, and Jay Carney called the request “preposterous.”
But is it really preposterous? We know nothing about Barack Obama’s college years other than the fact that he admitted in his bio–which was most likely ghost written by Bill Ayers–that he sought out radicals, Marxists, and communists. And we also know he spent his highschool years stoned, by his own admission, so wouldn’t it be of the public interest to find out how a stoner managed to make it into Occidental, Columbia and Harvard? Could it be that he listed himself as a foreign exchange student to better his chances?
Am I throwing out baseless accusations myself? Possibly, but Barack Obama’s own words speak for themselves and there are questions which have never been answered because Barack Obama was never properly vetted. And while I am just a small time blogger asking questions about our president, it was the president’s reelection campaign which has thrown out these false accusations about Mitt Romney and that is on another level altogether.
To sum it up: According to the left, Mitt Romney’s records are fair game and should be released so they can be examined, yet merely asking for Barack Obama’s records to be released is preposterous because it is based on nothing but a conspiracy theory. Oh yeah, it’s probably race driven as well. The left is trying to demonize Mitt Romney with one story, while at the same time trying to demonize his supporters with the other story and the fact that the Obama campaign stooped to such a level this early in the campaign shows how desperate they are becoming.
It makes you wonder what is coming when election day draws nigh.

I wonder what the big secret is about Obama’s days at Occidental are? It’s a valid question that should be asked by those in the MSM, but that taboo for those so-called reporters that lean left. During this campaign every leaf will be over-turned to find dirt on Romney, but few reporters if any, will cross the street to look into Obama’s cloudy past. And if by chance, some revealing document concerning their precious Barack, is placed on their desk you can almost bet it will never see the light of day. Exposing some dark hidden secret about Barack by someone in the MSM would be a death nail in their career and certainly wouldn’t earn them that coveted Pulitzer.

Larry, it depends on who is listening and what they are being promised as to what they will believe. “Things” mean alot to people that don’t have them. It is an added plus to those that don’t want to work for them. Free has alot of power.

After seeing Romney booed by the NAACP crowd the other day, I came to the conclusion that Obama could sell the White House to China and it wouldn’t even raise an eyebrow for some.

I hope so as well, Breitbart said he hade tapes (plural) and so far only one has come out, I think there is more. They don’t want to release them too early if they have them, but they should do it pretty soon I think.

While the Romney advisers are relying on the intuitive intelligence and pragmatism of the american voter to see through the veil of lies and duplicity of the prevaricatior in chief and his campaign to undermine and destroy the underpinning of the republic, Obama is confident in the ignorance, naivete and unsophistication of the american voter as evidenced by the results in the 2008 presidential election. Before too much more precious time passes Romney must decide to kick some Kenyan butt.

Peter, it seems that the REP candidates always go “easy” on the opposition when it comes to foul play. I know it seems to make them above all the petty tricks, but now we are not dealing with tricks anymore. We are in a fight for our children/grandchildren. We are out of time when it comes to being civil. I guess we will see come November who is serious about not letting our country go down the tubes.
