DHS agrees to give Florida access to database so voter purge can be completed

July 15, 2012

The federal government took on Florida for trying to purge her voting rolls from ineligible voters such as illegal aliens, felons, and dead people and today we have learned that the federal government has admitted defeat. After stonewalling for over a year the Department of Homeland Security has finally agreed to show Florida its database so that the state can make sure the purge is accurate.

Florida had been ordered by Eric Holder’s Department of Injustice to stop purging the voter rolls claiming the state was in violation of federal election law for not completing the purge at least 90 days before the state’s upcoming primary. Governor Rick Scott denied the state was in violation of the law and Florida filed a lawsuit against the federal government, claiming that the Department of Homeland Security was not granting the state its legal right to see the SAVE database and this is why the state wasn’t able to complete the voter purge.

Florida eventually won the lawsuit and the voter purge was allowed to continue but the state was still waiting for the Department of Homeland Security to comply with its requests to see the SAVE database, and today the Department of Homeland Security has finally granted Florida permission to look at the federal database after over one year of delay.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Injustice had coordinated these moves in an effort to keep as many ineligible voters on the rolls as possible for the November election; the Department of Homeland Security’s plan was to delay long enough to ensure Florida would be in violation of federal law and then the Department of Injustice would swoop in and clamp down on the state for the violation. What other possible reason could there be for the Department of Homeland Security to deny Florida access to the SAVE database in the first place?

It didn’t work this time but we can rest assured that this won’t be the last time something like this is tried because the federal government is actively trying to stop all states from instituting safeguards against voter fraud such as voter ID laws.

It’s about time. The voter ID thing is catching on in many states and polls show that a clear majority of Americans think their should be some way of checking on voter qualifications. I’ve personally witnessed voting in Mexico some years back and the polling places there have photos of those who are suppose to vote and believe me they check them. Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano should be ashamed of using their offices like some third rate political hacks.

Jim’s career has taken him out of the country for many years, he is an American Patriot living in Venezuela. So when he speaks of third world politics and socialism he knows of what he speaks and for his experience I value his opinions on these subjects very much.

Ah, makes sense with some of his answers! I guess we all have something to add to your blog, don’t we? I have friends here from Venezuela, they are very “guarded” what they say….we will follow suit if we do not take this election seriously.

I am sure they are guarded, they are not used to the freedom of speech we enjoy. It must be quite a change for them to see how in America we are not afraid to criticize our government.

Maybe more states will follow suit now that they have seen it is a battle which can be won.

Ron, it stands to reason, that we have Drivers Lic. and State ID, with photos, so we could do that here as well, if needed. Sounds like Mexico knows what they are doing. I think that this administration will do whatever it can, legal or illegal to stop a legal vote. What that Governor did was PUSH BACK, and we all have to do that. The administration knew what they were doing was not legal, but if we don’t call them on it then they get away with it. Maybe all the Governors should stand up to them more than they have. Legal or illegal, if you don’t open your mouth and tell them to back off and that they can’t DO something then it will continue. As for this administration, I would doubt there is any shame in what they do, as far as they are concerned.

We need an ID to do most everything and it would be easy to implement voter ID if the states really wanted to. Florida pushed back and won, I hope this emboldens others states to push back as well.

Voter Fraud is the DEMOCRAT PARTY way and especially the Chicago Machine Political Way. Obama and Eric Holder and Valerie Jarret and David Axelrod have brought the Chicago Machine Way to the National Level and in fact, that is why Obama is the Illegitimate POTUS that he is today. He stole the last election, and nobody challenged it.

Voter ID is a bump in the road for Obama’s plan to foster a left wing populism among the middle class in this country. It is now more than ever imperative that the unemployed remain so and the ranks of the gov’t dependent swell if he is to succeed. If he is to cut the legs out from under our republic he and his bureaucrat henchmen must not miss a trick when it comes to stealing this election. We have so much riding on Romney growing a set of balls.

And that is exaclty what these recent EOs have been designed to do, get more people hooked on government money in an effort to buy their votes. As far as Romney growing a set of balls; we are already doomed.

I agree, I believe the last election was stolen as well. In 2004 when President Bush was re-elected the democrats were screaming that the election was rigged then, if Romney is elected the accusations of fraud will get louder.

Voter ID SHOULD catch on, what is it you can do now a days and NOT have an ID? The hypocrisy of the Dems, Holder and Obama regarding voter ID is ridiculous… Holder had an event and to attend you had to have a pictured ID..

    Tell me that’s not hypocrisy…

I couldn’t agree more Fred! We need an ID to buy beer and tobacco, and we need an ID to drive. Hell, I just made a purchase from Walmart online with instore pickup and I had to show an ID before they gave me what I purchased, and yet somehow it is racists to ask for an ID to vote?

I am 64 years old and get asked for a DL which has Picture ID when I buy alcohol. I also get carded when the Police Ask For a DL, Car Registration and Insurance Card. What makes Illegal Invaders and Legal So-Called Voters from doing the same. Since I am a working and taxpaying Legal Citizen, why am I not afforded the Same Priveleges of An Illegal Invader or an Illegal Voter. Hell, from now own, if asked for an ID, I will just say, “Don’t Have One, Don’t Want One, Don’t have to Have One!, or Why Am I Held to Legal Standards When Nobody Else Has to???”

Jerome, it doesn’t make sense does it? I have to show an ID as well, apparently I don’t appear to be “illegal”, so they feel safe in asking me??? Maybe that is the criteria they go by, if you look illegal they don’t ask, but who knows. I think the local and state police have their hands tied by the government and have to do as they are told. We can blame them for this mess, but guess they are only looking for more people to vote. However, if you say anything you put in that last sentence YOU will end up in jail, go figure. Remember, YOU have no privileges in your own country, anymore.

Time after time, we are told voter ID requirements are a solution looking for a problem. Voter fraud does not exist in any significant manner and such laws would disenfranchise more voters than it would help. That happens right after they accuse those who are in favor of such requirements of racism.

Why is it that the liberals always think a requirement such as this is racist in tone and nature? Is there anything wrong with wanting to make sure those who are not eligible to vote can not do so?

Nothing wrong with it, no. Now, let’s look at who is fighting it the hardest and what they will loose IF it were a requirement. Makes sense once you see it from that point of view. Larry, you know that “racist” has to be attached at some point, as well. I would expect nothing less!!!

It seems like a basic requirement for voting would be to prove you are who you say you are before you vote but the liberals just don’t want it and we all know why. We need an ID to buy beer and cigarettes and yet that is not racist is it?

Democrats will be looking for every vote (on the level or not) for November. Think of how much time was wasted by them delaying as they did.
