Open thread for Monday August 13th

August 13, 2012

I got a suggestion in an email that it might be a good idea to post an open thread every day to provide people with a place to post links to political articles others (including myself) might be interested in, as well as providing a place for people to chat about what is going on during the day.

I thought it sounded like an interesting idea and have decided to give it a chance, if people like it and it is popular I will keep it going.

Whose going to get the ball rolling?

60 Minutes quizzes Paul Ryan about tax returns. I have an idea for 60 Minutes and other So-Called Inquiring Minds??? How about Quizzing our sitting POTUS Soetoro-Obama as to Who The Hell is He and Where Did He Come From??? Instead of asking Romney and Ryan for tax returns on money they actually worked for and earned, why is nobody, including 60 Minutes, not asking Barack Hussein Obama, AKA, Barry Soetoro, Citizen of Indonesia attending College in the USA as a Foreign Exchange Student, for any of his college transcripts, financial records on how he attended prestigeous universities, and his citizenship papers? When Did Barack Barry Hussein Soetoro Obama become a U.S. Citizen since he attended College Originally as a Citizen of Indonesia???? Romney should be saying, Show Me Yours and I will Show You Mine!!! Even if mine is none of your business, Yours is the Business of the Ciizens of this Country. Maybe the reason you are so in favor of Granting Citizenship to Illegal Invaders to the USA is that you too, are and Illegal Invader who has Hijacked the Presidency, and that would be a Reason For Treason and Sedition as well as many other Nationa Security Laws being violated by POTUS Soetoro – Obama.

They are being critical and will try and pick Ryan apart, but I am not too sure there is much there that they will come up with. Of course they are not above lying, so once it is out there, we know there are peopple that will beileve anything.I think if we are expecting the media to do their vetting, it will be here with Romney and Ryan and still not anything or Obama. We might as well resign ourselves to the fact that Obama will never be vetted unless someone comes out of the shadows and has proof of what most have suspected all along about his background.

The only problem with Ryan is the fact that he actually stood up for something, and that is rare in politics today. Because he stood up for something the unfriendly media has a record they can attack, unlike Obama in 2008 who didn’t have a record. Of course while they are picking apart Ryan’s record they will ignore Obama record over the last three years.

Romney should tell Obama, “You show me your records beginning with an actual birth certificate followed with your college records, passports you have used during your life time, etc. and I will show you something that is none of your business while everything I have asked of you Mr. Obama are things that you should have had to show before even being listed as qualified to run for the presidency.” Obama’s Machine could not exist without the lies they tell and a complicit media that is nothing more than a Propaganda Machine the spews nothing but lies and disinformation on purpose so as to try and destroy all opposition to the Regime. Someone asks, How Do They Get By With All These Lies?? Come on, get real. The Obama Regime is the most corrupt criminal political machine in the history of the world. Look at where Obama came from and from whence he brought all his political and criminal allies?? Chicago, Illinois is a city that has been dominated by the Mafia, The Democrat Party and Public Unions and Private Unions. This machine was once called the Daley Machine during the days of Daly Senior and that corrupt city is still just as corrupt as ever and all that Obama and His Chicago Thug Buddies did was to bring this Machine to the National Level, and this regime will do anything to keep the power they now have. In Chicago, all they could do was shake down businesses and rip off Chicago and Illinois Small Businesses and the Middle Class. With national power, these Chicago Thugs are ripping off the Entire Country. They have a Mafia Monopoly with one of their own running the so-called Justice Department so they are all Free of any and All Prosecution in spite of their lawlessness, with Lying Being the Least of Their Criminal Offenses.

Jerome, here is Illinois we are being taxed to death. The big companies are moving out, or being paid to stay by our Governor, with whatever he can find to stop them, but that won’t continue much longer. Our state is broke, but we keep paying more and more for the welfare users, taking away from the seniors, you probably have seen this before. CAT is based out of Peoria, Ill. and they have threatened to move out of state, but so far have not. We had Firestone and that closed, Staleys is now owned by a British based compayn named Tate & Lyle, well this is here in central Illinois. Zexell closed as well as a number of other big factories. We are going the way of East. St. Louis, Ill. if we are not careful and the labor jobs are going with the companies as they move to Indiana, etc. However, what I will never understand is the union brothers that are out of jobs now, will STILL vote Obama back in because the unions are telling them how they will vote for. I guess they do not have a mind of their own???

Jim, we have to keep a positive attitude! After watching the acceptance speeh in Wisconsin, I am pretty confident that Ryan will hold up his end of the duo, still waiting to see about Romney, but maybe he is going to take a step back and give Ryan some breathing room up front. I know that the Obama administration is sweating this VP candidate, not only is he bright and knows his stuff, but a debate will crush Biden and they know it. All they can do is start dishing dirt on Ryan and not sure that they will find much.

Obama isn’t the only one sweating this nomination, the msm is as well and that is why they are attacking him so vigilantly right from the start. I hope Romney uses Ryan as the attack dog and so far it looks like that is the case.

After reading numerous articles this weekend, I am wondering just how deep does the “Fast and Furious” government involvement go?

“In any event, it’s not likely that even the Attorney General of the U.S. could discuss publicly the specifics of such an intelligence operation, authorized or not, without facing the real threat of being accused of violating national security laws — such is the power of the U.S. intelligence community over even law enforcement and the courts in this nation.”

What type of joint effort do we have going with Mexico? I think we know what the outcome is that they want. Does this tie in with why the borders can never seem to be protected with all the military and reserves we have? The article talked about appointing a Special Prosecutor, but how could we be sure that person would be unbiased, given what we know up to now?

Mexican Diplomat Traded Secrets with Private Intel Firm Stratfor, WikiLeaks Documents Reveal
      August 9, 2012
[The emails between the Mexican diplomat, aka MX1, and the Austin, Texas-based private intelligence firm, called Stratfor, were drafted between 2008 and 2011.
Stratfor, which describes itself as a privately owned ‘subscription-based provider of geopolitical analysis, “ has been billed in the media as a “shadow CIA.” ]

“Another major disclosure by Stratfor’s Mexican diplomatic source is that the Mexican government appears to have been involved at some level, at least in terms of intelligence sharing, with ATF’s failed Fast and Furious operation. To date, the Mexican government has claimed it had no knowledge of the operation.”

GP, it sounds like this goes just a bit deeper than just a few Mexicans (not just a few) being murdered along with 1 lone border patrol agent. Maybe they figured by telling us that, we would just say “oh well, that is not many” and accept it. Let’s hope this opens wide up with all the corruption pouring out and the ones responsible for it, coming out as well. How much are we paying the Mexican government to have “no knowledge”? We know they have a price, as well.

i think the unions in Arizona, California and Nevada are fully entrenched with illegal migration and they are pushing corrupt officials to run things the UNION way. Teachers unions here are exceptionally corrupt and they’re funneling tons of money their way. Each election I see thousands of numbers for our area but few in line to vote.every election, AARP adds names of people to my home and the mail for them stops after each election.

Wisconsin is such a liberal state, makes you wonder how the Governor was elected, doesn’t it? I lived in Madison for 3-4 years in the early 70’s, it was “Mad City” back then and State Street was The place to be, a hippy hangout. Of course I worked, so I didn’t have the luxury to hang out and do nothing. My Aunt, who is 95 now, told my daughter we were only welcome to come up there to visit IF we were Democratic voters, haha, I guess some things never change.

Walker’s election and then unsuccessful recall must show us that things had gotten so bad that even a liberal state like Wisconsin saw a change was needed. That bodes well for the national election, at least I hope it does.

I think there was a time for them, but they have gottento be so much for the higher-ups and the workers are being used. The Unions are not what they started out to be…guess money talks and the corruption is horrible with them.

I don’t know how many followed the corruption here in Illinois with Blago, but when Quinn took over, things were going to change for the better,,,,he had to be elected after just a short time in office and Brady from Bloomington was running against him….I sure thought he might make it and things would be different now if he had. The problem was Quinn told lies and people believed him, the mansion was going to be open to the people of Illinois and he was going to live there, not commute back and forth as Blago did on a daily basis to Chicago, well, guess that didn’t happen either. My point is, some politicians will say anythng just to be elected, they don’t care and they must not have a conscience, but still people believe them and keep voting them back in, even when the state is going under. Stupid people, that is what they are.

Those are jaw dropping articles Georgia Peach and THANKS Steve and Lou for the great conversations. I think unions differ from place to place but here in Arizona they aren’t acting honest in the least. Lou, AARP started contacting me before the 2008 election, when I sent they’re junk mail back, more mail with my address and other names started appearing with more advertisements for them. I just started getting mail for these names again.

First thing I want to say is I would NEVER send papers back to AARP to join them, we both have papers sent to us wanting us to join and how wonderful it will be. As far as I am concerned, they backed Obamacare and that was a big NO for me. Now, as to you getting all that mail, is it perhaps a place that you are renting or had it been a rental at some time? We have rentals and you would be suprised how much mail still goes to those places for renters that have not lived there in years, alot of people give the forwarding address only to certain businesses and the rest keeps showing up. If it is not that, then I would say alot of people are using your address illegally. Maybe it is just a mass mailing for the election push of last known address? Toss it, I would not bother to send it back, if it appears to be “junk” mail, but if it is a bill, I usually write that there is no one by that name at the address and drop it at the Post Office.

Sorry to hear about the fires, that is a horrible thing for you to have to go thru. The temps here in Central Ill. have been up close or in the triple digits, as well, so I am aware of the suffering you have with the heat. I am assuming it is a dry heat? Ours is always humid. We also just got a bit of rain and it has been at least 2 months since the last rain. We are on a well, but we are doing ok, no fires. Just a burn order and water restrictions in town.
