Liberal gunman opens fire at the Family Research Council in Washington, the media remains silent
On May 10th, 2010 Faisal Shahzad attempted to blow up a car bomb in Times Square. Before the facts were known Mayor Bloomberg stated this was probably an act by someone who was upset with Obamacare, but it turned out this was an attempted act of terrorism by a Muslim extremist.
On January 8th, 2011 a deranged madman by the name of Jared Loughner opened fire at a campaign event, killing six and seriously injuring Representative Gabby Giffords. Before all the facts were in the media blamed the Tea Party, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and the rest of talk radio. It turned out that Loughner was apolitical and not associated with any of those blamed for his actions.
On July 20th, 2012 James Holmes walked into a Colorado movie theater and opened fire, killing 12 and injuring dozens more. Brian Ross found a person with the same name as the killer who was a member of the Tea Party and tried to blame the Tea Party for this murder spree. It turned out Holmes was an apolitical madman with no connection to the Tea Party.
On August 5th, 2012 the media finally got what is has been lusting after since Barack Obama assumed the office he currently holds when a white supremacist and neo-Nazi killed six Sikh worshipers. The glee was almost palpable in the reporting of this horrific crime as the media finally could pin a violent crime on the right.
The head of the Department of Injustice, Eric Holder, quickly branded this shooting a hate crime and a case of domestic terrorism and the mainstream media was in its glory.
But then on August 15th of 2012 a liberal activist who was a volunteer in a gay community center, Floyd Lee Corkins, disguised himself as a conservative by carrying Chick-Fil-A into the Washington DC branch of the conservative Family Research Council and opened fire on a security guard.
Because this shooting occurred in a conservative center the mainstream media knew there was no possible way to blame this shooting on the Tea Party or talk radio so they decided to remain silent on the issue and not speculate on the motive for once.
We now know that Floyd Lee Corkins basically admitted this was a politically motivated attack when he told the security guard he shot “I don’t like your policies,” yet the media is unwilling to tie this attack to the left with the same vigor they attempted to tie all the above mentioned attacks to the right. And we all know why that is, don’t we?
Eric Holder and the Department of Injustice have been unwilling to call this a hate crime or a case of domestic terrorism even though it was clearly politically motivated.
Floyd Lee Corkins has been charged with assault with intent to kill and bringing firearms across state lines, but he has not been charged with a hate crime even though hate of conservative policies was in the end what drove him to commit this crime.
This comes as no surprise when we look at the Fort Hood killings by Nidal Hassan, which was clearly a case of domestic terrorism by a Muslim extremist but has been officially classified as a simple case of workplace violence. And this was the one and only time–at the behest of the president–up until the Family Research Council shooting that the media didn’t jump to conclusions.
Is it any wonder that people no longer get their news from the mainstream media? They no longer even attempt to hide their bias. The media’s silence on this attack condemns them.

I am not the least bit surprised to see the media’s reaction to this shooting. Given their past performances, I would expect nothing less.
