Open thread for Saturday August 25: Allen West edition

August 25, 2012

Here is the open thread for Saturday August 25th. Please feel free to post links to interesting articles and discuss whatever is on your mind today.

Today I am including and audio clip from Allen West in which he is asked about the Democrats calling the Republicans extremists and he answers it by turning the tables on the Democrats. He talks about the hypocrisy and the extremism of the left, and says it is time for Republicans to go on the offensive. Please take a few minutes to give it a listen, you won’t be disappointed.

  Have a great weekend everybody!

Thanks for the link Larry, that was an interesting article. The French have been after Lance for years and he finally got to the point where he said enough is enough.

I agree with Allen West wholeheartedly. I’ve said for along time that the Republicans have to stay of the offensive and keep Team Obama on the defensive. It is not like we have a shortage of ammunition.

Here is a link to a video you readers will enjoy.

Agreed Jim, it is time for us to go on the offensive and remain on the offensive until November. I haven’t watched the whole video but so far it is very good. I will watch the rest tonight.

I am hoping there is a position in the next administration for Col. West, he is doing what he does for the country. Can we say that about this administration? One will build it up and the other tear it down, I would think that would be a no-brainer vote, but guess there are others that feel differently. As Ronald Regan asked if we were better off than 4 years ago, is that such a hard question to answer?
Just a note: got Mom in the nursing home for re-hab (she is 92 with alzheimers), will be at least 2 months for broken femur with a rod in it, sorry have not had time to post, but did have my tablet along to keep abreast of what is going on. This happened while doing a 6 day watching of my 2 1/2 year old grandson, so I have been pretty busy.

There HAS to be a place for West in a Romney administration–Secretary of State perhaps. I hope your mother is recovering okay and I understand why you haven’t been posting commenting much lately–no worries.

Thanks, it will just take time and alot of therapy, but hopefully will be a positive outcome. As for Col. West, I can’t think of another PRO American that would fit that position any better than he would.

This article certainly gave me something to think about:

Will Obama Keep Power ‘by Any Means Necessary’?

I read that article the other day as well and it is thought provoking and quite scary. I recommend that everyone check it out.

Folks, you have to check out this cartoon and comment about Biden’s trip to Tampa.

    http://totus-blog.blogspot.com/2012/08/joe-biden-goes-to-florida-to-crash.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Totus+%28Totus%29

I wonder if Biden is being set-up to do something really stupid and give Obama the excuse he wants to dump poor Joe?

Thanks for the link Jim. I also wonder why Biden is going to be in Tampa, there is a reason for it. This is planned, it is not just a coincidence.

I ran across this over at IOwn the World this morning. Any time that I can hear something from Ronald Regan, I listen. What he said back then is just a relevant today as it when then. It is worth viewing.

It is sad that more of the politicians are not like he was. Romney of course is more along those lines than Obama is, but not sure we will have another Ronald Reagan! I would also like to see another gracious first lady, I think we have fallen down terribly when it comes to etiquette in Our House. Let’s hope that we can change that soon. Maybe we should refer Michelle Obama to Miss Manners book of etiquette.

I agree, and I think that Anne Romney would make a great first lady. She is a woman of courage and conviction, unlike the current residents of 1600 Pennsylvania avenue.

I wanted to post about Chicago, again. For a state that can not conceal carry and for a city that can not even own a gun in the city limits, there is sure alot of fire power going on. On a nightly basis there are dead and wounded, but how much is the media reporting on this? Is it not news, is it because these are most likely done by thugs and gang members and they don’t want to make them angry or draw attention to the problem of “illegal” guns, is it that it doesn’t fit the criteria of taking the guns away from us “law abiding citizens? I guess if they can’t find a “crazy” that is shooting the streets up, they won’t report it. What exactly is it that makes the media pick and choose what and who is important to report on? I guess it is just not news worthy, sorry they think it isn’t.

Apparently the shooter didn’t know it was illegal for him to carry.:)

Mayor Rahm doesn’t have the control he thought he was going to have. Thugs and gangs don’t answer to him or the police. Now with Louie and his Nation of Islam patroling the streets, I am sure it will be SO much safer in Chicago. s/

On a side note, WE HAVE RAIN! It has been a long time in getting here, about 2 1/2 months, but it will sure help, alot of the grass has started turning green again. Isn’t it funny how we take it for granted that we will always have something and when it isn’t here, how much trouble we have without it? I guess one could apply that to our “freedom”, when it is lost, might be the time that we realize how important it was. A little to late then, isn’t it?

Great news Lou and you are right, we don’t know what we have until it is gone and hopefully we won’t be adding freedom and liberty to that list.

It is the ones that believe Obama will take care of them that will be hit the hardest, we know he will not and we prepare accordingly.

Since we can post, “whatever”, I ran across this clip from one of my favorite movies, The Big Lebowski, for no other reason than I like the movie and SAM ELLIOT is in this clip I am posting it. Have not run across a clip from Cannery Row, another of my favorite movies, along with Arsenic and Old Lace. Will have to look. I can look at Sam Elliot all day, he is what a real man looks like and his voice, well it is Sam and no one else. Enjoy!
