Gunrunner: DOJ releases Fast and Furious report, deputy takes the fall

September 19, 2012

The long awaited Department of Injustice report on Operation Fast and Furious has finally been released and to nobody’s surprise the report states that Eric Holder was unaware of the operation until February of last year.

Other than absolving Eric Holder the report is said to be quite damning on the agency as a whole:

The report says Attorney General Eric Holder was not made aware of potential flaws in the program until February of last year. But the report cites 14 other department employees — including Criminal Division head Lanny Breuer — for potential wrongdoing, recommending the department consider disciplinary action against them.

One congressional source told Fox News the report was “more brutal than was expected.”

In the wake of the report Jason Weinstein, a deputy assistant attorney general, resigned after being fingered as the highest ranking official to be in a position to stop the deadly operation. (Laughable) And  Kenneth Melson retired after the report was released, these are Eric Holder’s fall guys.

After seeing the report Darrell Issa said it was good, but questions still remain about the cover up.

In an interview with Bret Baier on ‘Special Report’ Wednesday, Issa said that the report was good overall, but questions remain about a cover-up.

“The Terry family wants the answer for the initial failure and for the cover-up,” he said. “[Today’s resignation] is only the tip of the iceberg. [Weinstein] should have been gone a year and a half ago and only resigned when the report pointed at him specifically.”

Darrell Issa is right, while Eric Holder hopes that these two sacrificial lambs will be enough to satisfy the Oversight Committee, this is only the tip of the iceberg. A major cover up is underway and the documents which just might indict both Eric Holder and Barack Obama are under lock and key at the order of the president.

If a federal judge declines to order those documents released this investigation is over and these criminals will have gotten away with it, if a judge orders the documents unsealed then the Terry and Zapata families still have a chance at justice. But as of this moment it doesn’t appear as if justice will be served.

Excuse me! Not made aware of potential flaws??? So, he was aware he just wasn’t smart enough to see that with no tracking devices in the gun that the plan was doomed to fail and the guns would end up exactly whre our government shouldn’t want them to be. He should at a minimum be fired for incompetence!

YOu are right Jim, he should at least resign for incompetence if he was this clueless about what was going on.

Maybe I’m wrong about this, but if Romney wins, can’t he release those docs?

The fix was in on this, but check out my latest post on this. (I posted it during lunch today, but for some reason it posted just under my New Hampshire poll results post.) The IG has basically admitted that Obama obstructed his investigation and that he wanted to explore a possible connection to the White House but Obama wouldn’t cooperate. Very interesting stuff.

So much for an impartial investigation. All Obama has to say is “no” and it all goes away? Can’t be their fault! So with that being found out, we are supposed to believe what little the IG was allowed to put in his report? Fat chance. So, Obama and Holder are squeeky clean, because they said so….hmmmm. Again I will ask, where are the adults and who is going to be able to hold this mess of an administration accountable? Anyone?

Hopefully a judge will order the records unsealed, if not this is over and nobody will have been held accountable.
