Did Elizabeth Warren illegally provide legal services in Massachusetts without a law license?

September 24, 2012

The high cheek-boned wanna be Native-American who provided much of the intellectual foundation of the Occupy movement, Elizabeth Warren, who made a fortune flipping foreclosed houses has been running against Scott Brown as a champion of the middle class.

Last week Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren had their first debate and in an attempt to paint the would be Senator as an elitist and a 1%er Scott Brown referenced her work as legal council for  Travelers Insurance, where she represented the big corporation which was in a legal battle against average  Americans who claimed asbestos related illnesses. She was paid over $200,000 for her work with the insurance company which resulted in a Supreme court defeat for the very same type of people she now claims she is better suited to represent than is Scott Brown.

But according to this article there is a bigger issue for Elizabeth Warren than the hypocrisy Scott Brown highlighted, and that is it now appears that while Elizabeth Warren had her main legal office in Massachusetts she was never licensed to practice law in the state.

Warren represented not just Travelers, but numerous other companies starting in the late 1990s working out of and using her Harvard Law School office in Cambridge, which she listed as her office of record on briefs filed with various courts.  Warren, however, never has been licensed to practice law in Massachusetts

Earlier today Elizabeth Warren went on a Boston radio talk show and admitted she didn’t have a license to practice law in Massachusetts but claims she never practiced law in the state.

  That assertion seems highly dubious:

Ms. Warren’s statement comes as a surprise to the many clients she’s provided legal services to over the past decade, including the law firm of Simpson, Thacher, and Bartlett, which listed her as “of counsel” in the 2009 brief they submitted to the United States Supreme Court on behalf of their client, Travelers Insurance.

First we learned that Elizabeth Warren was a fake Indian, and now we learn she might be a fake lawyer. Elizabeth Warren has some ‘splaining to do.

Yep, they both seem to have manufactured their pasts. I have a feeling Scott Brown is going to win this race fairly easily.

This morning’s Boston Herald has an article about her fighting against the coal miners to deny them health insurance and other benefits but she has a passion to fight for the middle class.

Even with a crooked media, there are still things a person says that will come back to bite you in the butt. Looks like this is her time and it can’t come soon enough. I am not thrilled with Scott Brown, but I guess he is as good as they could get for a Conservative in Mass.

The Boston Herald is the one paper in Massachusetts which will cover these issues, the Globe certainly won’t do it and if the story does become big enough so that they can’t ignore it they will bury it deep in the paper.

It just keeps getting better and better doesn’t it? I have been waiting for Drudge to pick up this story but so far he hasn’t. So much for being a middle class warrior!
