Hurricane Sandy aftermath: As the death toll rises Barack Obama campaigns
After assuring the people of New York and New Jersey that he would not leave them behind Barack Obama quickly flew off to a Las Vegas fundraiser and has been on the campaign trail ever since.
Barack Obama spent enough time in the situation room during the hurricane to have a picture or two taken of him to show the American people that he was on the job (which is more than can be said about his reaction to Benghazi) and then he spent a whole day in a bromance with Chris Christie, flying over the ravaged area and promising to cut the red tape and get things done.
This all looked good on paper and the mainstream media tried to portray Barack Obama as looking presidential and as being on top of this natural disaster but this is his ‘mission accomplished’ moment and since that time the victims of this storm have been the last thing on the president’s mind.
While the president has been campaigning the death toll of Hurricane Sandy has risen to 109 and is expected to climb even higher and, reminiscent of Benghazi, the president refused to answer questions about the growing frustration of the victims of the storm. A campaign spokesman has assured us that when Barack Obama isn’t campaigning he is thinking about the victims:
He’s focused on it every minute he’s not on the stage
It appears as if the situation is spiraling out of control in New York and New Jersey as we are hearing stories of six hour gas lines, FEMA running out of water, New Yorkers digging through dumpsters for food, non-union VOLUNTEERS being turned away in New Jersey, over 2 million without power, people arming themselves with weapons such as baseball bats to defend themselves, and skirmishes with the National Guard and yet we are supposed to feel the president has this all under control because he is thinking about these people when he isn’t campaigning?
At this point one has to wonder what red tape Barack Obama actually cut? And what is the difference between Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Sandy, other than the fact Barack Obama used this disaster as a campaign stop and photo op before abandoning the people he promised to help? And by the way, isn’t this proof that Mitt Romney is right when he says disasters are better handled at the state and local levels?
Barack Obama now owns all the problems that have emanated from the disaster relief effort because he promised there would be no issues and as we all can see nothing has changed from Hurricane Katrina other than Barack Obama was much more effective in portraying himself as a leader, the results are the same.
Because of this Barack Obama’s politicizing of Hurricane Sandy is much worse than President Bush’s inaction in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
Sandy is Barack Obama’s Katrina, only much worse because he was more interested in using this as a political issue to halt Mitt Romney’s momentum than he was about actually doing something to help these people. And I think this is all pretty evident right now.

The MSM will do it’s best to defang the post-Sandy days and portray the inaction as a shining example of Obama’s FORWARD. Those on his campaign stops are giddy as the high school girl oogling her physics teacher. They are as far removed from the east coast disaster as is their messiah. On the bright side this latest episode of arrogance, apathy and inaction should motivate the 50% of the voters who understand the danger this pretender represents to the republic.

At this point I think the people have forgotten the way the MSM portrayed him as a leader in the immediate aftermath of this storm and those who are paying attention are seeing that nothing really has changed. They will vote based on the economy and who they feel can best turn it around.

Sadly, Obama will win New York and New Jersey any way. I’m upset that Romney surrogates are not hammering on this and more so on Benghazi. So many Americans are not informed about the Benghanzi fiasco. We can’t let this man continue in office!

I wish Romney would hit him on Benghazi as well but I think he is letting it play out on its own and the more we learn the more damaging it is and I think he feels he doesn’t need to highlight it. As for Sandy; the MSM would spin it as Romney playing politics with the storm and for being uncaring while others are struggling, it is probably a good idea to leave this alone.

Bad things happen to good people. Equally true is, bad things happen to stupid people. I can tell you that if I lived on Staten Island, I would have removed my family when authorities first issued warnings five days in advance of the storm. Have the American people become so used to the nanny state that they are no longer capable of taking care of themselves? You know, none of this is lost on Moslem terrorists … how to paralyze an entire city and destroy morale with one small sized dirty bomb. Perhaps this is what we deserve after electing sleaze merchants like Barack Obama and Michael Bloomberg. And this proves another thing too … Imagine if Iran exploded a nuclear bomb 200 miles in space above the USA … shutting down our entire electrical system. No cars, no gas, no access to money, no food … no way to get food, and no water. How long would it take anarchy to destroy a city like New York, or communities such as exist along the eastern seaboard?
I’m adding you to my blogroll.

Thanks for adding me to your blogroll, I will add you to mine as well. I think there is much truth to the idea that people (especially in large cities) have become so used to the nanny state that they no longer use common sence because they feel the government will bail them out and that could be why so many people stick around despite the warnings.
Speaking of the dirty bomb; remember the debate when Biden said it didn’t matter if Iran went nuclear because they didn’t have a missile to put the material in? That is what makes this administration so dangerous, have they not thought of the fact the material could be smuggled over here from Iran and used in some type of small dirty bomb?

VBED. A small dirty nuke can blow at street level, or it can go to the top of a tall parking garage. Doesn’t have to be missile borne.

Exactly and that is why Biden’s comments were beyond belief to me!

I was afraid the President’s response to Sandy was going to hinder efforts to vote him out. Now, I am beginning to see that many people may see his photo op for the sham it was. If only enough Americans see through it in time for the election, we can finally be rid of Obama and send him back to Chicago or Hawaii.

Even people in NYC are pissed off at NOMObama. He will NOT win by the large margin they would have before the storm, that is for sure.

Wouldn’t it be something if Romney pulled out New York because of this! Pipe dream I know, but it felt good to think of the possibility for a minute. 🙂

We noticed when CNN did their disaster (aka pro-Obama) coverage on scene in New York, that their cameras were sure to focus in on Obama’s jacket (the one with the Air Force One patch on Obama’s right and the white plastic Commander in Chief name tag, on the left). The jacket looked brand new, signalling Obama’s pretty boy wardrobe photo op, and obvious lack of willingness to get his hand or clothes dirty for that matter. I for one, am sick and tired of seeing Obama’s patronizing back patting, especially to victims and volunteers, while he looks through or beyond them, or back at the cameras, or worse yet, while walking away from them. Also, when CNN did their Romney Revealed and Obama Revealed documentaries recently, was I the only one to notice the negativity worked in repeatedly towards Romney, while virtually none against Obama? Romney’s overall values seem real and genuine, and yet, Ms. Gloria Bore-ger made sure to find someone-anyone to detract or vilify Govenor Romney. I don’t remember seeing anything about Obama’s childhood, questionable legal (identification, passport, immigration documents), upbringing, mocking of his religious affiliations or beliefs as was done to Romney, drug abuse, slovenliness and suspicious activities as a youth/young adult – all the things that build one’s nature and overall character. Let’s face it. Obama was a token visible minority candidate and that alone propelled him to victory in 2008, when so many more long term candidates of solid character (and public service) deserved the opportunity so much more than he ever did. The truth (of the real scams that got Obama to office in the first place) will eventually have to be revealed when archives are unsealed in the future…. well maybe they will… might be misfiled under the wrong Obama alias or social security number… Let’s see, if economy is the main issue here, who should get the country back on track – Romney, a proven, successful business man (who understands business and finances), or a pretty boy, lip service messenger- opportunist who had a horseshoe positioned in just the right place and time, to weasel his way into the highest possible office in the USA? I hope Romney gets the chance to prove his credentials. As for Obama – he’s never been tested with critical decision making at near the level previous presidents have been – wonder how he would have handled 911 after having just taken office – don’t wish that on any president. Obama is over his head – too bad his inflated ego won’t allow him to simply step down. He enjoys the limelight far too much.

Wearing that Air Force One jacket all of a sudden is so transparently a public relations stunt and I think people see through this as it looks so small to do it right now.

I agree Larry, I htink people see what a sham his little visit was and I don’t think Sandy is going to affect the election one way or the other.

Obama is doing what he does best–taking care of Obama. By all rights, given his own rhetoric regarding George W. Bush and Hurricane Katrina, Obama should be tarred and feathered, and run out of Washington DC on a rail.

Agreed! Everything Obama does is done to better Obama and this is another example of him doing what will benefit himself at the expense of the people who are really hurting right now.

Great comments and hit all points. Nothing to add but the jacket thing was not lost on most I do believe.

I think the jacket thing must have seemed like a juvenile trick to most Americans.

B, I think he wore that jacket for another photo-op before. Must dust it off and bring it out “as needed”. I went and voted early yesterday, going to be doing poll watching with my husband Tuesday, so will not have time to vote that day. While at the place voting, there were an equal number I think were voting for their “benefits”, so imagine it was Obama they were filling in. My husband and I both wanted to see Ron Paul get in, but that didn’t pan out. I kind of thought he might be filling in for Gary Johnson, but afterwards, he could not do it, he said another 4 years of Obama and we were finished, so he voted for Romney. Now, will others do that, knowing that even though they wanted someone else, that a vote for someone else would be like giving Obama a better chance of getting in?? Who knows, we can only hope. The line was very long, so I really think that people are taking what they believe seriously, this could be close, but I am pretty sure Romney will pull it off, if we can keep the voter fraud down. Keep your eyes open and use your phone cameras, if you see something. As an old EMT, we were always told if it is not documented, it didn’t happen and we KNOW that happens alot.

We have to, B. Mind you, the question is would we be able to? Or would we have to build our own short wave radio stations?

I have brought up before about having a HAM license, just in case…I got mine back in 1998, and keep it up. I am a bit rusty with code, but it comes back to you pretty easily. That might be the only communication we will have left if they are allowed to get ahold of the internet.

I think there are many people who wanted Ron Paul who will do the right thing in the end and vote for Romney. I was someone who was seriously thinking about voting for Gary Johnson before realizing the most important thing was getting rid of Barack Obama and I think there will be many like me who vote for Romney because they feel Barack Obama is too dangerous.

Yo can get a “no code tech” license, and be able to use the radio alone, used to be you had to know code. Not hard to get, just alot of circuitry and wiring and frequency requirements.

It sounds like a plan worth looking into. How about short wave radio? Nothing from the msm about sandy, while millions suffer. We will hear nothing more if fox goes.

I was into the shortwave radio years ago, that is when I first learned about the NWO, the Masons, the Bildeburgers, and all of that stuff. I still have mine somewhere and if it comes to that point I guess I will have to dig it out and start using it again. The internet sort of made the shortwave obsolete, but if we lose the internet that and the HAM will be all we have left.

Obama never misses a Photo Op, but he remains an Absentee POTUS. I wish he and the Democrats in Congress would all Stand Down and Say and Do Nothing. The country is better off every time congress and the POTUS do not meet. Look what Obama and his Fascist Democrat Party did in the last 4 years: Trillion Dollar Stimulus Bill (Slush Fund for Democrats and Unions), Cash For Clunkers, Obama’s Apology Tour, Banker Bailouts, Tax Payer Sell Outs, Take Over of Auto Companies and the Closing of hundreds of Local Car Dealerships owned by Anti-Obama Small Businessmen, over 300,000 new Federal Workers, and many Tens of Thousands of Fewer Service Personnel, Obama Care, Several New Federal Regulatory Agencies that have hit the middle class and small businesses the hardest, the shutting down of Many Power Plants, the Shut Down of Oil Drilling on Fed (The People’s Land), Doubling Gas Prices, Doubling Electric Bills, Class Warfare, etc. This list could be expanded, but the bottom line is this: We cannot suffer through 4 more years of Obama, and in fact, we may not even survive as a Sovereign Nation. Vote Obama Out of Office on 6 November 2012.

I couldn’t agree more, Barack Obama has no problem posing in front of the cameras when it helps him, now many times does he have to remind us he greets the coffins when they come home, but when it comes to action he is absent when it counts the most.
