Is the fight still worth it? Yes it is!

November 19, 2012

In the immediate aftermath of Barack Obama’s reelection my first instinct was to rally the troops which I thought were ready to give up because I was still not ready to give up, but I have had this nagging feeling in my head for quite some time that I haven’t been able to shake.

This feeling boiled over today when I read some comments on my open thread from last Sunday and this is what I finally admitted to the regular readers of America’s Watchtower:

After the election I decided it was time to rally the troops who were thinking about giving up, but now I have realized that I am also losing the urge to fight. Even as I write posts I find myself asking myself why I am bothering at this point because it seems hopeless. I used to write thinking I could make a small difference but now I find myself questioning the point of it all, the fight is disappearing and is being replaced with a sense of inevitability of things to come that I just can’t shake. Part of me now feels as if we should just give Obama everything he wants because perhaps the total collapse of the economy is what it is going to take for people to wake up but I know in my heart that is the wrong approach.
Don’t worry, I will never give up the fight because I believe in the cause, I just question now if it is all worth it anymore. I keep asking myself if I am fighting a losing battle and wondering if the fight is already lost and I am just the last one to realize it.
I apologize for being such a downer and pledge to keep fighting to the bitter end, whenever that might be. I am just to stubborn to approach it any other way.

I have had this sinking feeling that while we did all that we could to stave off the coming storm we failed, and even as I continue to cover the Obama regime and what I believe is their malfeasance and intransigence, that the battle may have been lost forever on November 6th. The passion I once found while posting was replaced by a sense of inevitability of what is to come. I once thought I could make a difference but that has been replaced by a feeling of inadequacy which I just can’t shake. I don’t know where we go from here and it is so damned frustrating to see the country move in a direction with which I am so opposed.

Shortly after posting my comment about my new lack of passion I headed over to Conservatives on Fire and read Jim’s new post entitled “Who Will carry the Torch of What America Once Was? Will You?” In this post Jim laments the fact that many conservative bloggers have gone silent after the defeat of November 6th and he calls them out:

Returning now to the theme of my blogging friends who have gone silent. DAMN IT PEOPLE!  Those of us who love life, who love the idea that America represented, who love our children so dearly we have an obligation to keep the spirit of what America once was alive! I believe our mission for what remains of our lives is the following. We must make sure that our children, be they children or adults with families of their own, know to core of their being what the idea of America was, why American became the greatest most prosperous nation the world has ever known, and why this great experiment failed. We must make our children keep the spirit of America alive and to pass on to their children the love for the idea of America.

Dear friends, from my perspective, the only flicker of hope we have is that some day those that kept the spirit of what America once was alive, will have the opportunity to try that great experiment again.  And, of course if America is given a second chance some day, we must pray they do a better job than those generations of Americans that are alive today.

So, to my blogging friends who have gone silent, if you are still visiting your favorite bloggers, and if you read these words I have written, please rejoin us and take up the fight to keep the spirit of what the idea of America really means alive. We do this in the hope that some day the idea of America will be given a second chance.

Jim is absolutely right! Our cause is just and our fight, while it may look bleak at this time, is not over and we owe it to our children and the next generations to keep fighting for the experiment which became America. It may feel hopeless and we may feel dejected but this is the time that separates the Summer soldiers and the sunshine patriots from the true guards of American liberty and prosperity! We owe it to those that follow us to continue fighting because the cause is just.

I have been asking myself in recent days if the fight is still worth it and the answer is a resounding yes it is! It may feel like we are fighting for a lost cause at this point but if we stop fighting we will ensure the cause is lost. Patrick Henry once asked, “Why stand we here idle?” I ask you, can you forgive yourself if you stand idle when there is still a chance to reverse the course of history?

In what has always been a protracted struggle, their will never be that crowning victory for either side. And as for those that withdraw from the battle and seek that sheltered tree as the battle swirls round them they, in the end, they will find no peace and will only have lies to tell their children and grand children about their part in the great stuggle. I’m reminded of the old quote, “its darkest just before the dawn”!

I’m in it for the duration. Liberty is worth fighting for. besides, I still believe this election was stolen and it’s not a denial thing. There were far to many voting irregularities in swing states. This tells me that we need to do a better job next time around monitoring the other side. If this means an army of Tea Party types as poll watchers in deeply blue counties then so be it.

Yes, liberty is worth fighting for and now is not the time to surrender. We must be in this for the long haul.

Let me share a scripture from the Bible.

(Eze 22:30) And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Even when the fight looks hopeless, we have to stand squarely in the path of the liberal and progressive agenda as it advances on our country.

You are so right Larry, if we look out over the land and see nobody standing there to fight against this agenda than the battle is already lost and I am not willing to admit that just yet.

I didnt have time to do this post, but for the discouraged, this is an excellent pick up.
Standing in stark contrast to the outcome of the presidential and U.S. Senate races, Republicans strengthened their control of state capitols on Nov. 6. The GOP went into 2012 with unified control of the governor’s mansions and legislatures in 24 states and will come out with full political control of 25 states. Democrats will head into 2013 with a disadvantage at the state level, having total control of just 13 states.

There were a few good things to come out of the election as we move forward, We have to remember this is a long fight and we have to remember that we can’t expect to turn the whole thing around over night. Thanks for the links.

Days like these are why I went back to wanting to hear GOD’s word, I’m sick and tired of man’s. Man or woman will always fall short of our expectations but GOD gives me faith to know that this is a spiritual war we’re in and satan is expecially strong at this time. In December the planet saturn will move away from the planet virgo and that also will cause changes for all of us. But in the meantime, I’ve been debating about closing down my internet since obama has turned it over to the pentagon, while he hangs out in communist countries. Time to hunker down and protect ourselves, our loved ones, just like we have in the past. Right now perversion is striking our children at a great rate and I was sick when I saw a picture of a baby in a roasting pan, pray for our children the state run, compound looking grade schools have left them starving for an education. I’m angry at the deception and I KNOW this is a stolen election and I’m praying that GOD gives a way thru this mess. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL AND I WILL KEEP YOU ALL IN MY PRAYERS>AS MY BROTHER THE MARINE SAYS: SEMPER FI! with a whole lotta LOVE.

Thanks for the link, there is no doubt that Obama knew the truth when he sent Rice out there to lie to the American people.

It now falls to the states to fight the good fight and beat back the ever encroaching tidal wave of the government in Washington. For starters If we the people are to have even a whisper of a chance the governors must stand up to the mandates surely to follow the implementation of Obamacare. Here in NJ we smell a rat in the governor’s mansion and that rat’s name is Chris Christie; we shall see.

This stolen election should have opened our eyes to the coming impotency of the House. Their failure to drop kick the crybaby Boner out of his seat and replace him with someone of integrity willing to fight for the just cause is a signal that compromise i.e. defeat may be in the air. Boner’s comments following Obama’s victory may have bean an omen of things to come.

The truly disheartening aspect of the ever growing sense of dispare comes from knowing that a majority of Americans don’t get it, like my next door neighbors who warned me that if Romney wins he’s going to take all the money out of the country. I am still scratching my head over that one. Those Americans genetically predisposed to stand with others who will continue to fight the good fight with words and deeds which may end up being fought in the streets, BE PREPARED…

You are right, we have to fight this at the state level and hopefully enough states will stand up to Obamacare to render it ineffective. You are right about what is most troubling about this election and that is the fact that more Americans simply do not get it at this point.

When things are the darkest, us regular people look to leaders, and like it or not, all your hard work to date has made you a leader. I have no idea on how you can keep up your spirits, especially with Michael Moore ready “to go to war for Obama”.
But I lived in England in 1974-1975 and would have bet everything that a Margaret Thacher never could have come to power in that far left country.

Thanks Bruce, I do put pressure on myself to keep posting because I fear I will be letting people down if I do not. If that makes me a leader of any sort then it is a badge I will wear with honor. It isn’t easy to keep my spirits up, I fight the temptation to take the easy way out and give up almost everyday now, but the cause is still just and it is a battle which needs to be fought.

The reason that the tea party failed to oust BHO has nothing to do with not doing enough, but rather that in some areas it did too much, and did it for the wrong people. When the Tea Party started we were a rallying cry against bad governance by both parties. Before Obummer we were tired of W. How is it that we have now become the Republican lapdog?

Don’t try to deny it; we are. If we truly had any say in this shit we wouldn’t have had Romney as a candidate, and we wouldn’t have lost. They shut us up when it came to making decisions, and then let us go rabbid then it came to supporting whoever they chose. We went along with it because we thought that it would get rid of Obama. It didn’t. Its time that we dropped the Republican’ts and actually put forward some real leaders.

You are right, we do carry the water for these people who really don’t care about what we think and it is time to hold them all accountable and I will try to do so. I had no qualms about bashing Romney during the primary but once he won the nomination I backed off in the hope he could defeat Obama. How’d that work out?

Steve–Thank You for this post. It was sent to me by a friend who knew I needed a kick start.
I am (was) a writer for another WP blog site, but just recently quit due to ‘Creative Differences’ (and a little backstabbing) with the blog owner.
I had decided to stop devoting so much time to what seems to be a hopeless situation.
This article has renewed me, and my desire to not go down w/o a fight. I owe it to my son, my grandkids, and all future Americans, to fight until my last breath to save Our Country from Obama, Liberals, and the whole idea of what they are now calling “The New Amerika”.

I am a brand-new subscriber to your site, so you will be hearing from me again. I share your views stated in your “About Me” info so completely-I could have written it !

Thanks again for the booster shot.
