The House Majority Whip drafted the secret criteria John Boehner used to purge conservatives from committee positions

December 10, 2012

After September 11th George Bush famously stated  to other nations that they are either with us or they are against us and that is precisely how I feel about the Republican elitist, establishment, political ruling class today. They are either with us or they are against us.

We learned that House Speaker John Boehner used a secret criteria list to purge the most fiscally conservative Republicans from their committee positions last week and then threatened to punish more conservatives if they did not blindly toe the establishment party line, and now it is being reported that it was House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy who actually drafted the criteria list and presented it to the GOP Steering Committee.

This news didn’t come as a shock to the group seeking to replace John Boehner as Speaker:

The country is tired of backroom deals and secret lists–it’s cronyism, plain and simple,” Ron Meyer from American Majority Action told Breitbart News. “If the GOP Steering Committee is going to oust members based on some litmus test pitted against conservatives, they need to make the list public.

Yet the hypocritical GOP leadership which railed against Barack Obama’s secrecy still feels justified in keeping the criteria used to oust fiscally conservative Republicans secret and John over at Sentry Journal explains why this is the case:

Conservatism is for all people because it universally advances liberty and freedom by downsizing the entity that threatens both; government.  John Boehner and his establishment ilk don’t see it that way.  In fact they don’t have a problem with big government as long as they can manage it.  And Republicans who don’t follow the party line, well they are isolated and their voices are silenced.  This mindset has been destroying the Republican Party for some time now and their actions last week are only accelerating its demise.

John Boehner and the ruling class Republicans don’t really have a problem with big government at all, they just want to have control over big government, that is what it comes down to, and the Republican leadership felt threatened by the fiscally conservative Republicans so they silenced them in the hopes that they would once again return to power over an ever-expanding federal government.

It is becoming more and more obvious to me that the ruling class, establishment Republicans have only one thing on their mind and that is holding on to their dwindling power, they are only concerned about themselves which means they are against us. We must act accordingly…..

I am DONE with the GOP… They are as much of what’s wrong with America as is the Democrats… We either rebuild this nation based on TRUE Conservatism or we just go ahead and kiss our asses good-bye, because my friend, it is all but over…

I agree Fred, the Republicans and the Democrats are two heads on the same monster and until they are both severed there will never be any real change.

It will take only 16 votes to remove Boehner. We already have four. 12 tea party folks is all it will take to oust him.

I think it is looking more and more like we may get the votes needed to remove Boehner, but unfortunately it will be after he gives Obama what he wants.

Thanks for the mention Steve and I’m with you. I’m done holding my nose voting for establishment types. Look where it has gotten us. We need to start thinking outside of the box and in a few days I’m going to float an idea that does just that. If we can’t get our politicians to respect the constitutional barriers our founders put in place to limit their capacity to infringe on our liberties then it’s time for We the People to fence them in.

I am convinced John Boehner needs to be removed as Speaker. Not only has he been a poor negotiator with Obama on everything, he is stabbing true conservatives in the back while he is doing it.

I couldn’t agree more Larry, it looks like we need twelve more votes to remove him once the new Congress is in session.

I am now realizing more and more that while Republicans and Democrats may disagree on many issues there is one thing they have in common and that is remaining part of the ruling class elite, that is where their only true loyalty lies.

“Conservatism is for all people because it universally advances liberty and freedom by downsizing the entity that threatens both; government.”

Government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Anyone understand what a paradox is?

The only freedom he is talking about is the freedom for any corporation that wants to rape your family, steal your house, and poison your food, and the environment. All so thei “stockholders” get their share of what used to be your family’s nest egg. That is reality.

It’s not the size of government that is the problem folks. It is what we get, and who gets what for the money…..

Since profits are privatized, and risks are socialized, I can understand why “conservatives” (yeah right) could be upset.

What was funny was watching tea partiers rail against tarp, and then fight tooth and nail to oppose legislation and regulations that will make it so there will never be a tarp 2.

How do people vote to triple the size of the military in 15 years but come unglued when food stamps are not cut enough.

Being a fake conservative must suck. Living in a full time hypocritical conflict.
