West Point releases a report which claims “anti-federalists” and the “far right” are a danger

January 18, 2013

The fourth most viewed post on America’s Watchtower is a post I wrote back in 2009 about the now infamous Homeland Security report on the threat of right wing extremists in which the department labeled returning United States veterans as a possible terrorist threat. This report labeled pro-lifers, small government advocates, and people who are against illegal immigration along with veterans returning from war as possible terrorist threats and lumped them in with white supremacists.

With the gun grabbers now in full throat after the massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School the Obama regime is trying to gin up support for the usurpation of the second amendment by tugging on the heartstrings of Americans by using children as a political prop, but that really hasn’t managed to change the opinions of enough Americans so the regime is once again turning to “right wing extremism” in order to scare the American people into supporting its assault on the second amendment.

This time the willing co-conspirator is none other than a West Point think tank called the Combating Terrorism Center, which has now released a warning about the far-right anti-federalist movement. Included in this report about potential terrorists are people who support “civil activism, individual freedoms and self-government.”

It says anti-federalists “espouse strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights. Finally, they support civil activism, individual freedoms, and self government. Extremists in the anti-federalist movement direct most their violence against the federal government and its proxies in law enforcement.”

The report also draws a link between the mainstream conservative movement and the violent “far right,” and describes liberals as “future oriented” and conservatives as living in the past.

“While liberal worldviews are future- or progressive -oriented, conservative perspectives are more past-oriented, and in general, are interested in preserving the status quo.” the report says. “The far right represents a more extreme version of conservatism, as its political vision is usually justified by the aspiration to restore or preserve values and practices that are part of the idealized historical heritage of the nation or ethnic community.”

There you have it: If you believe in smaller and limited government, personal responsibility, and if you believe the federal government is corrupt, if you believe the federal government is intruding on your constitutional rights, or if you believe in preserving the historical heritage of the nation–IE the founding documents and principles–you are a backwards thinker and dangerous. But if you are a liberal who believes in bigger government with less personal irresponsibility and freedom you are a forward thinker.

It is interesting to note here that the original anti-federalists were people who opposed the constitution when it was being debated by the states while now the term is being used to describe the people who support the constitution because the federal government has perverted the constitution. But that is how the liberals operate, they twist the argument and the terminology to suit their own needs and goals.

I am not surprised by this at all because let’s face it; we ARE a threat to the federal government as it exists today–not violently as this report would have us believe, but rather politically, or better yet, to their power–because today’s government cares not at all for our founding principles so they are looking to demonize those of us who do. The federal government has an enemies list and we are becoming the enemy in their eyes. It is quite possible that never in the history of the United States has a political difference between two factions been used to such an extent as to criminalize the opposite political position and we should all be concerned about this.

The question is; who is behind this report and I think we all know the answer to that question, don’t we? This was not a random report which came out of the blue in the midst of the gun control debate, this is part of the propaganda war being waged against law abiding, gun owning citizens in order to scare the American people into supporting legislation they otherwise would not, and in this writer’s opinion it came straight from the top.

Make no mistake about it: if Barack Obama has his way and gets the new gun control legislation he wants it is only the tip of the iceberg, there will be more reports  to follow as he will continue to demonize his opposition and push for more and more legislation until the second amendment is toothless. When that happens there is no telling what he will do next.

Am I fear mongering here? Maybe, but no more so than is Barack Obama. History will be the judge.

I saw this yesterday. It’s disgusting. Don’t West Point cdets take an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God, upon graduating and recieving their commission? The oath says “Contitution” not “United States of America. Do our miltary academies not teach the consttuttion that the graduates will swear to defend and protect? This is an outrage!!!

I hope that they are not teaching this at West Point and I hope that this group is just an outlier group, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out this is what the cadets are learning.

There is no limit as to what Obama will do given a chance. Demonization of a segment of the population is nothing new. Being a southerner I’ve seen it from my earliest days. The divide now seems to be more between the urban and rural thinkers than between two regions as in the past. The big government thinkers along with the sheepe that follow them seem to concentrated in the sprawing urban areas where the collective herd mentality prevails, while the small government individualist are found outside the beltways that ring our once great cities. It is indeed worrying that power for the moment seems to rest with those on the left who would undermine or even destroy the thing that has held our nation together for so long. That said, parts of the Constitution contained in the 5th and 14th amendment will be used by these same people to under cut the 1st, 2nd, and 10th. As shown by the recent SCOTUS decision on Obamacare I put little faith in the court to do anything. And all they can do is to rule on something, with the power of enforcing any decision handed down resting with the Executive branch. Resistance to any massive power grab from the left must come from the people or else there will be none.

You just weren’t paying attention soon enough. It’s been urban vs. rural since my growing-up years — and that was 60 years ago.

It is another way to attempt to demonize the GOP. That will be his sole goal to get back the House in 2014 so he can finish us.

That is exactly what this is all about, he needs the House back and he will stop at nothing to get it!

When the Tea Party first emerged during the battle over health care reform, we were told to just wait, there would be violence take place that stemmed from their protests and ideology. We were told that is what would happen and at every turn, the media tried to blame different acts of violence on them. Remember Arizona, anyone?

Funny thing is, that violence never transpired, at least not from the Tea Party. Now they have grouped us all in together, determined to make us look like a bunch of unpatriotic Americans who care nothing about our country.

On the contrary, we care a great deal about our country. We just want it to go back to our roots and that desire does not deserve to be trampled under the feet of idiotic reports such as the one cited from West Point.

    • January 19, 2013 10:36 am

Good point Larry, we have already shown then that we are non-violent but it is all about perception with them. They have been trying to paint us in this light every time there is violence. They try to pin it on the Tea Party before all the facts are in because they know people will remember the initial report and not remember it was wrong.

“Am I fear mongering here?” I think you are. Only the far left is going to be impressed by Arie Perliger’s twaddle. He’s merely a pissant with an ax to grind. West Point cadets are sharp and will see right through him.

Rather than read about what he wrote, read what he wrote — if you can manage to stick with it for more than 20 pages. That’s where I had to take a break — because his “treatise” was written so poorly. If it were written better, it might be something to worry about. As it is, I see it as a minor contribution to the literature of terrorism, one that will have little impact.

The truth is that the federal government is a threat to us, to our freedoms. And these lunatics don’t think that the federal government is corrupt and tyrannical? These people need a reality check. They need to wake up from their dangerous utopian fantasies.
