Barack Obama nominates one of the men behind Fast and Furious for ATF Director

January 20, 2013

Barack Obama has nominated U.S. Attorney B. Todd Jones for the position of ATF Director. The problem with this choice it the fact that Mr. Jones was one of the people who helped to create the operation known as Fast and Furious which left at least two Americans and hundreds of Mexicans dead, while hundreds of weapons are still being used in crimes to this day.

Jones was personally a part of the high-ranking Department of Justice unit that first met on October 26, 2009, to create the new DOJ policy that was used to justify “gunwalking” in Operation Fast and Furious. In Fast and Furious, the ATF “walked” roughly 2,000 firearms into the hands of the Mexican drug cartels. That means through straw purchasers the agency allowed sales to happen and didn’t stop the guns from being trafficked, even though they had the legal authority to do so and were fully capable of doing so.

According to a congressional report from House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform chairman Rep. Darrell Issa and Senate Judiciary Committee ranking member Sen. Chuck Grassley, Jones was one of several senior DOJ officials in the meeting.

Darrell Issa is not too pleased with this decision:

Acting Director Jones was at the helm of ATF as many troubling problems from the fallout of Operation Fast and Furious festered,” Issa declared. “His specific decisions on a number of Fast and Furious related issues raise concerns about his judgment and ability to lead the agency.

“While I continue to believe that ATF needs to have a Senate confirmed Director, President Obama has a responsibility to find a nominee who can win confirmation and is not saddled by a string of bad decisions related to the agency’s greatest recent failure

Just like Benghazi, where the only person who has been held responsible for the attack is an American “film-maker who is rotting in jail, nobody has been held accountable for the Fast and Furious scandal. A few people have been shifted around and now a man partially responsible for the deadly operation is going to become the permanent head of the ATF if Barack Obama has his way. And this is his idea of accountability?

This administration is the best/worst at shifting people and blame that I have ever seen. They are masters at shedding the blame that should be theirs on any given issue. Fast and Furious, Benghazi, etc., it has been one scandal after another during the first four years of Obama. No one is willing to take the blame and I see no reason to believe his second term will be any different.

Nobody needs to take the blame because these issues aren’t getting the coverage they deserve, this whole regime gets a free pass. Is it any wonder why he feels he can do whatver he wants to?

    Absolutely correct Steve

The Obama constituency is the true believers, the purposefully indigent and the incorrigibly ignorant. The media malfeasance allow him to be utterly inept while they keep things under wraps by diverting our attention to media driven controversies that have some importance but divert your attention from the lawlessness, criminality and power lust of the regime.

His whole handling of all these issues has been ham handed and obvious but has a political starch blocker in an obsequious and slobbering media.

Yes, to his constituency he can do no wrong because the end justifies the means. They will never question him.

This is more evidence of Obama’s personal policy of rewarding friemds (those who carryout his dirty work) and punishing enemies (us).

In the immortal words of Jackie Gleason, “A mere bag of shells.” Keep in mind the best is yet to come as he continues to poke the indifferent American public. Once the Dems win back the house, as I feel certain they will in 2014, coupled with the soon approaching two Supreme Court retirements, his current naming and appointing criminals, malcontents, inexperienced cronies and fellow travelers of every ilk will be overshadowed by the republic crashing and burning. Way past is the time for strong and honest statesmen to step forward and lead the country into the light. Ignorance is bliss and has served well the man behind the cuttain in the White House. One need not believe in fate but evil, yes. How else to explain a storm like Sandy coming along at the most opportune time to elevate him to hero stature in the minds of the undecided voters while doing little or next to nothing to help its victims. How is it that at such a critical juncture in his quest to disarm and thereby neuter the only remaining physical opposition to his planned anti american rebellion Obama is presented with 27 martyrs to his cause? Is it fate or evil forces? With God out of the way all things are now possible In the immortal words of Jerimiah Wright, ” God damn America!”
