Obamacare: medical device company lays off 100 employees due to healthcare reform
As companies look to defer the additional costs of Obamacare we have seen a growing trend in the food services and hotel industries: companies are cutting the hours of their employees to under 30 hours a week because this makes them part-time employees and keeps the company compliant with the new law at no additional cost.
But there is one other industry which is going to get hit hard in the future and that is the medical device industry because the healthcare reform law taxes medical devices as a means to help pay for Obamacare. This means these companies have two options if they wish to remain viable: raise the price of the medical devices or cut back on costs.
Naturally, one of the easiest ways to cut costs is to cut workforce and that is what we are beginning to see. According to this article medical device manufacturer Smith & Nephew has announced it is laying off 100 employees and places the blame at the feet of Obamacare:
Unfortunately, and in order to absorb this cost burden into or business, this has meant less than 100 positions have been made redundant across various departmental functions in our Tennessee and Massachusetts sites
And this is not the first medical device manufacturer to make such a decision:
In November, Fox New reports, Stryker medical supply company announced cuts of 1,170 jobs — 5 percent of its global force — to help cut costs from Obamacare taxes and mandates
I would say that this is an unintended consequence of Obamacare but in my opinion this was all part of the plan. The Obama regime and the Democrats have always wanted to implement a single-payer (government run) healthcare system but the support wasn’t there. Obamacare isn’t the end game, it is simply the mechanism being used to achieve the endgame.
The Obama regime hopes that as people lose their healthcare due to Obamacare, and as they are faced with the prospect of becoming criminals in the eye of the law for not having healthcare (again due to Obamacare) that these people will look to the same government which created this problem for a solution to that problem. And that solution is the end game and the end game is single payer.

Well now the heavy lifting lies at the feet of the media. They very well may have their hands full trying to keep the Obamacare madness from the great unwashed. Then again, a citizenry that would re-elect a man who had shown four years of disdain for their country, its economy, its traditions, its institutions and constitution should continue to be a pushover for the MSM and the elites inWashigton. As the criminals say , do the easy ones twice.

Somehow I don’t think the MSM will have a problem continuing to defend this man.

The other factor is that there will be far fewer devices approved by the government. After age 70 the so called panel of non physicians may decide the pain pill Is a better option. They will echo Obama’s words.

In the end it will be the government who determines who is eligible for what procedures and that should have all Americans up in arms!

Not at all, the MM will simply say shame on the business for laying off so many people unnecessarily and that they could easily just build the taxes into the price of the product sold to the wholesalers, which of course would then just pass on to the doctors and hospitals, which would then pass.. to… the.. customer.. umm.. wait. Either way it fits into obamas plan…..

Imagine what the cost control panels are going to have to deny to get ObamaCare to appear to be a reduction in health care cost, as Obama claimed. It will only be affordable for the few that actually recieve health care.Everyone else will be paying and receiving nothing. Elections do have consequences, don’t they?

May that elitist prick John Roberts rot in Dante’s Inferno on the level where one’s head is stuck up one’s ass for eternity and the death panels have outlawed Preperation H.
