Barack Obama lied about the sequester leading to Capitol janitor pay cuts

  First we had Barack Obama’s Education Secretary, Arne Duncan, tell a blatant lie about teachers who were supposedly being laid off due to sequestageddon and now it appears as if Barack Obama walked out of his meeting with Congressional leaders yesterday, looked the press corps and the American people in the eye, and lied about janitors who would be facing a pay cut due to the sequester.

This is what the president had to say:

“[A]ll the folks who are cleaning the floors at the Capitol — now that Congress has left, somebody is going to be vacuuming and cleaning those floors and throwing out the garbage — they’re going to have less pay,” Mr. Obama said. “The janitors, the security guards, they just got a pay cut, and they’ve got to figure out how to manage that. That’s real.”

  That’s real? No, it isn’t…..

…..it is bullshit.

  Capitol Janitorial Superintendent sent a memo out to his employees informing them of the disinformation and told them not to listen to the media reports:

the current sequestration plan does NOT include ‘Reductions in Force’ or Furloughs. The pay and benefits of employees WILL NOT be impacted as per out current plan

Referring to the president as a “high ranking official,” Elias was adamant that staff wouldn’t see smaller paychecks and to not listen to media reports.

He wrote: “There was a specific mention in the news today by a high ranking official that said ‘The employees that clean and maintain the US Capitol will receive a cut in pay’ (not a specific quote but close to it). This is NOT true. Therefore, I request that you please notify all our employees about the importance of ignoring media reports

  I find it interesting that he decided to tell these people not to listen to the media reports when the media was simply parroting what Barack Obama told them in the first place–he should have told them not to listen to Barack Obama’s propaganda–but I suppose this is neither here nor there at this point.

  The bottom line is that Barack Obama lied in order to spread panic among the governed in an attempt to gain more support among the people to repeal the policy he recommended in the first place. 

  Barack Obama governs by crisis and through fear; he is trying to panic the American people into supporting an agenda they would otherwise oppose and this is just the latest example.

  The end justifies the means in his opinion and if that means lying to the American people than so be it, after all he doesn’t want to let this crisis go to waste…..
