Harry Reid blames the sequester for the deaths of the seven marines in Nevada

March 19, 2013

When Harry Reid heard the tragic news that seven marines in Nevada died while on a training mission in Nevada his first thoughts were not with the fallen or their families, instead he saw it as an opportunity to win political points on the sequestration:

Mr. President, it’s very important we continue training our military, so important. But one of the things in sequester is we cut back in training and maintenance. That’s the way sequester was written…. These men and women, our Marines were training there in Hawthorne. And with this sequester, it’s going to cut back. I just hope everyone understands the sacrifices made by our military.

Harry Reid would be well served to remember that Barack Obama has wanted cuts in defense all along, and in fact sequester was the president’s idea in the first place, before he opened his mouth.

I find his politicizing of these deaths to be disgusting and irresponsible; Harry Reid should be ashamed of himself but then again, the end justifies the means…..

As I heard a caller say today, Reid, and his comment is “beneath contempt”.

I am really getting tired of this sequester nonsense. Where are the Republican rebuttals?

Dirty harry needs to be put out to pasture. The dumbell wasnt let in on the fact that the sequester sky is falling routine backfired bigtime yet the heartless mindless scum will still use anything to score a political point.
on another note how long before one of the politically released illegals commits a violent crime against an innocent American?

Even though the sequester rhetoric has failed we are still seeing people try to push it in bits and pieces hoping that something will catch on. The Dems really overreached on this one and honestly for Reid to say what he did it shows us his true colors. He is despicable.

At least Feinstein is annoyed with him. They have to have their way one way or another.

That is the one bright side to this, it is always fun to see Democrats at odds with each other.

I don’t know if our country has any type of “impeachment practice” for incompetent senators and congressmen?!If not, how can we go about having one? Reid would be the first to go.
Keeping people under-employed,allowing this sequester to go through etc. etc. are all in need of remediation as quickly as possible. When did government for and by the people get replaced?

In 1995 we were using 60mm motars at Quantico and were informed some Marine Reservestist were killed earlier that year when the firing tube ( they were at Camp Le June) fractured -there was no was to see the weakness except by x-ray. Things happen and H.E. tend to make them worse. Harry Reid is opportunistic. My heart goes out to the poor families these guys left behind. The paid the ultimate price for us.
